  • I spent another beautiful out in the bush with my dogs hunting chickens with the 22. The CZ 455 is a tack driver and is putting a lot of food on the table this year. Come along for the hunt and when we get back to the trailer, I cook up some chicken hearts in garlic butter!

Great video again! I limited out everyday up to camp in maine last week. We are only allowed 4 birds a day and we got a lot of rain this spring so a lot of the birds didn't make it. Almost time to get the rifle out for deer here. I've been bow hunting amd passed on a few small bucks so far.

We had a extremely hot and dry spring in BC so a lot of birds were hatched and it's been a great year for grouse. Our season goes till mid November so ill be out getting a few more birds yet.

Hey, I now hunt chickens with my 17HMR but I have to say my Winchester.22, model 1890 is wickedly accurate and smooth, only downfall is it’s tubular feed (I prefer bolt, mag feed) thanks as always brother and good shooting as well lol - cheers

Love your grouse videos. Started hunting with a 20 gauge this year but I still bring my 22 when I go hunting with my sons because of the noise. Right now I'm still getting used to the 20 gauge, missing a lot more shots then I should. Really scared of pellets in the breast so I tend to often aim too high.

I’ve been shooting pheasant all my life with a 12 gauge. I’ve very rarely ever had pellets in the breast, they normally penetrate right through.

    I use a 22mag with a 4x scope and tmj ammo , works a treat 👍

Only my second year hunting upland birds and I have always just stepped on their wings and pulled. I'll have to try your way next time, if I manage to find another before the snow sets in too deep. Ruffies are pretty uncommon out here on the prairies but I've been getting quite a few Sharptail this year. Just cooked some breasts (sharptail) last night and it was the best I have had yet. Super simple. Just oil and butter, medium high and baste 2 minutes each side until medium-medium rare. Added a bit of rosemary for a touch of flavor but it was great. Really hoping to get a rabbit at some point but I haven't seen one in the daylight for a few years now.

That's awesome. Sounds like you're having a pretty good time. Rabbits can be tricky to get. You don't see them much during the day. Lots come out right at the fringe of legal shooting light.

@@BuickOutdoors leupold** that’s awesome. I use the centerfire version of that scope on both my tikka 30-06 and my muzzleloader. It’s perfect for the woods here in the Adirondacks. Small, lightweight, crystal clear, and deadly accurate. Good choice man.

@andcat7162 ya I have the 3-9x40 on my 30-06. I like it way better then the vx-2 that's on my 300 and it cost like half the price.
