    Clay, you've got a significant bump in your views due to Alone. Happy for you man. I'm pulling for you. Even if you don't win Alone, you win with your channel exposure. I'm a 20 year trad shooter and have been through a lot of the issues you talk about and am constantly reviving my style of shooting. I've always enjoyed your content, very well done. I'm sure we will see a lot more trad shooters now. Great for the sport.

    Your outlook on not worrying about things out of your control, is a lot like me. People always talk about how calm I stay. I just don’t want or need to worry about things out of my control. In my opinion it helps me stay level headed, and allows to concentrate on the thing you can control, to make your situation better. I like the recaps, and getting an inside perspective.

Gods word tell us we must repent and believe so in 1999 I did that at the age of 32. Same thing happens in the Black Hills of South Dakota with the Ponderosa Pine and sometimes the Black Hills Spruce but that can grow on its own just very poor so a fire can push things much better. There also is other non evergreen trees but fewer and lesser of them like the Birch and Aspen or the trees native to South Dakota other then Cedar as those tend to stop before the Black Hills somehow.

    Hey yeah on regards to the swim. I tried to get over there on land but working the shoreline at my location in certain areas was damn near impossible. You couldn’t just walk down the shore like people were saying. It could have been way better hunting or fishing over there or I could have found something useful on shore so I had to see. I swim in cold water a lot so I went for it. I wasn’t at risk of drowning I know my abilities and the water was cold but I’ve been in colder. Im fat and float like a boat 😁 I’m getting a lot of hate from fans for the swim or for singing to help keep my mind in it and ward of bears lol or people who just plain hate to look at me. I got one thing to say to all them. I couldn’t give a single fuck what anyone thinks of me. If I did I wouldn’t be the weird ass metal motherfucker I am. 🤷‍♂️🤣

    This was my first ever Alone series. I've watched 4 or 5 seasons since. My biggest gripe is the limited territory. If your site sucks you'd move on in a real survival situation. To much wire is my other beef. I'd love to see a survival show with people dropped in the bush with a bow ( or not) and a knife or multi-tool. I've watched maybe 5 seasons and have only seen maybe five contestants who actually belong on the show. I won't mention names , don't want to hurt any feelings.

    Hi Clay, loving your take on the episodes. I enjoy watching them very much. I am curious to hear your thoughts on the hunting regulations. There seemed to be plenty of bears, but they were off limits. The mountain lion however you were allowed to hunt. Was there any particular reason for bears being off limits, but mountain lions were ok? Bears were ok to hunt the previous season. I guess rules vary per region? I asked Jordan Jonas kind of the same question. I am trying to get an idea of the rules because they seem to be different each season. Would you be willing to elaborate a bit more on them? Also, what do you think of the editing of the show so far? In the episode it looked like you were distraught because you missed your family, but you mention here that this was because of missing big game, am i correct? That' is totally different! Thanks for your videos, see you next time!

    • @clayhayeshunter
      @clayhayeshunter  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Evert, the hunting and fishing regulations change with the location. Some areas are more liberal than others. In regards to hunting lions bs grizzly, lions reproduce much more quickly so they can sustain harvest through hunting better than bears. As for the edit, I was bummed about the condition of the burn on my site. I also missed my family.

    I always wonder about the availability of clay and how much can be done with it from chinking chimneys to making containers, and if there’s enough of it, making a kiln. Have you ever tried to make clay from mud? I’ve seen some videos on it and it looks feasible to make with not too much effort, but you need good mud. The spot you dug for your berries looked like it was good mud. Curious if you thought about trying to make clay or simply went looking for better mud. @@clayhayeshunter Yea I can see where that could present a problem..
      Here is question that has me stumped. Your given 10 items correct ...so why does a bow and a number of arrows the tab or glove the quiver the broadheads etc count as one it seems to me that the Bow would count as one and the arrows would count as one as well as all the other stuff would count as one. also they are all different items after all.. I mean you are given an ax as one so why not count an ax a saw a knife as one they are all simuler just like the bow, arrows and bow accessories.. Does not seem fair huh
      By the way I was digging your shelter very nice...

      @@allthingsarcheryandshootin9380 I'd say because a "bow" isn't considered a "complete" item without the accessories. The axe gets a sheath and handle, the fishing line gets a spool, carrying container for the hooks, the multi tool gets a carrying case, the pots all get lids, sleeping back gets a carrying case, the backpack isn't considered an item and neither are their different clothing. That's just why I think they bundle all those accessories with a bow and call it one item.

      In a pinch, you can make bow string from paracord (reverse wrap the inner strands to get the desired size), and with a little more time and work I am sure he could find natural fibers to make one with.
      But repairing the original (likely made from artificial sinew?) was the fastest and best.

    Alone is an amazing show I think it is unfortunate and a little unfair it is exclusiveley for Americans and Canadians and not Europeans.

      @@clayhayeshunter Absoluteley. I have spoken with some of the previous contestants of the show. Their responses where its to do with the logistics and cost of getting people to America plus they already have a vast amount of contestants already applying which all need vetting a very time consuming process. That said I think its a great opportunity for someone to start a European show. The problem I can see for that is the actual location for the challenge would need to be challenging and therefore need to be somewhere other than the typical European climate. Bringing in the issue of logistics again.

    Watching you work through that blowdown, I said to my wife even if he gets something, he'll never get it out of there without blowing a knee or injuring his back. I know I'm always thinking how am I gonna get this out of here if I shoot it and I've passed on shot when I was just in too deep. Real question, do they pick up your pack and stuff sacks? I've never see anybody use them after the first week or two and you're hanging meat in underwear.

      Yeah, that place was nasty. I was mainly just scouting to see if it held anything at all. As for the pack, we’re just not allowed to use it after insertion.
