Traditional Bow Hunting Catch and Cook in Deep Snow NO SHELTER

  • This week I head to the mountains for an overnighter traditional bow hunting catch and cook and solo camping in deep snow. I want to test out the Siberian log fire so I'm taking only my sleeping bag and pad. Since I have no shelter and the temperature is well below freezing, I construct a bed of conifer boughs to sleep on. Although not a how to video, I'm sure you'll pick up some cold weather camping and winter bushcraft tips in this winter survival video. If there's enough interest I'll do some more snow camping this winter. Overall I was impressed with how the Siberian log fire performed. It burned for about 15 hours and put out enough heat to keep me warm all night. This is a true "all night fire."
Don't forget to subscribe to the channel. We're uploading a new video each week that features one of the following topics: archery, bow hunting, bow building, survival skills, bushcraft, self reliance, primitive skills, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and a lot more!

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Clay, love your videos and learned much on archery from and you got me back into learning. An axe is not a club. It is a precision cutting tool.
one cuts up the tree from the bottom of the tree. Saves the blade and reduces effort. Also have a small axe and medium axe when carrying a saw.. Just 45 years experience and still learning. :)

Great video Clay, VERY well put together..
I mean whole nother level better than anyone else I have watched.. (and I follow a lot.)
The cinematography and music were amazing.
    Well done!
As far as the "Siberian fire" went, I was impressed with the simplicity, duration and effectiveness.
I wonder, have you tried the automatic long lasting fire technique where they build two ramps angled downward to the fire and stack logs where they will automatically roll down, feeding the fire as the previous one burns away?
I think I have seen someone try it with good results.
    Anyways thanks for sharing.

Excellent, all of it! Some things notable to me were the disposable lighter and air mattress. Because though you could make a mountain of pine boughs and use flint/steel doesn’t mean you have to all the time. Those kind of “hacks” are metaphorical in many aspects.
