    Fun fact, if you listen to the radio you find out the trauma team is pretty disturbing. If you can't pay for them and still don't after a while, they will come and take you away (they make point to say nobody will care cause it's the trauma team and they'll think you're injured). They will then take away all of your expensive cybernetics even your second heart or new kiroshi eyes and replace them with nearly defect or absolute gonk cyberware from recently deceased gang goons such as sixth streeters.

    I think Mr Blue Eyes (and the other "vampires") is an AI.
    When characters send/receive data, their eyes glow blue. What if Mr Blue Eyes's eyes are blue because he is sending and receiving a constant stream of data (the AI connecting to that body via the data stream). It would make the AI literally immortal, with it being able to connect to several bodies at the same time.

    I’m usually not one to put my tinfoil hat on, but when you touched on the segment about the biotechnica flats and possible human cloning as a food source, I remember stumbling upon what looked like a hit and run involving a truck out on a dirt road that runs through the flats. The scene depicts a truck that looks like it was run off the road and into a wall. Around the truck are a group of bodies and the bodies appear to be all be women. I also discovered a shard at the scene that speaks to how these woman were being smuggled out of a biotechnica facility with the help of Dakota (a fixer in the badlands). Initially I just thought this was a nod to the story of Mad Max Fury Road, but based on what you’ve uncovered in the lore around biotechnica, I think there’s definitely something a little more sinister going on there.

    Food for thought:
    Based on the lore, Spider Murphy was actually the one who slotted Johnny with Soul Killer, Johnny got blown in half by Smasher during a distraction sortie while Morgan Blackhand planted the bombs. Remember one of the things you can talk to Johnny about when he asks what the worst thing about Mikoshi is and you say "they can change who you are"? That's the gist of it, the engram isn't Robert John Linder, it's some shred of his original soul-killed program with a bunch of junk added, probably by Arasaka and specifically Yorinobu.
    Why would Yorinobu put that engram on the Relic anyway? To make sure that if his dad did get it back, he'd end up with Johnny Silverhand in his brain-case, with all the authority from the Saburo skin-suit to kill the company once and for all? If he was going to take it to netwatch, like the backstory hints, what would that do, let netwatch accidently breach the black-wall trying to reach the Alt Cunningham AI gestalt? Why did he bluster at the NUSA and Militech in his speeches following Saburo's death, to start the Fifth Corporate War that would likely be the last? It almost seems like Yorinobu wanted to tear the entire system down, to make it all go away so everyone had to start again from scratch. The Irony is, Yorinobu may have been more Johnny Silverhand than Johnny Silverhand actually was.

      I think the reasoning behind that was hinted during the conversation with Hellman in the motel before Takamura arrives. When discussing the biochip, in particular the engram, Hellman says that it's not Silverhands personality that's unique but the biochip. He also goes on to say something to the effect of they chose an engram that would not be missed. Since the biochip was the prototype and not the same one that Saburo would have slotted in, I think they chose Johnny since he wasn't affiliated with the secure your soul program (Silverhands involvement with the first bombing is still considered a myth) and even if the engram transfer failed, it was just one more freed up space in Mikoshi. I doubt this would be a reason for having Johnny on the biochip but even if the prototype was a success, since Saburo personally oversaw the project, he could get the satisfaction of killing Johnny one more time.

      To quote Yorinobu himself
      « What would I try ? I have tried everything, and nothing else remain. Just one bullet left, its not for you (speaking to V).
      Look, what do you see ?
      Kyoto, Dubai, Paris… these people had a chance today, but they lost it. To forget their fear. Fear. Ever since I can remember. The one thing I cannot deny him - he knew how to cause fear in people.
      He once told me anything of value is only a flag in wind. And wind, is Fear. And then you know what he did? Blew in my face.
      That was the one time he was wrong. And others ? It worked on them. They feared him. Even now. You saw! Idiots terrified of a dead pan talking from a box. Pathetic.
      I would change that. If only you did not appear.
      Power ? You… you think I wanted power ? Fifty years ago terrorists blew this building into smoke. And ? What it gives us ? Nothing ! But I learn lesson! If planting bombs not enough, what can you do ?
      You become bomb. »
      If there wasn’t the whole situation with the relic, Yorinobu, V and Johnny would have a lot of reason to be friends. The worst ending (The Devil) is the one ending where Yorinobu plan is stopped. In the others ending he end up killing the entire board and drive the company into the ground. Intel about how the relic was used to gather intel is leaked, and V is pretty much unscathed, they run the afterlife or drive away in the sunset with Panam, no real retaliation from Yorinobu for boasting through Arasaka HQ. Because Yorinobu is not V’s enemy, he’s his father enemy. A bomb whose sole purpose is destroying everything Saburo Arasaka worked so hard to accomplish.
      9/10 antagonist, kinda wish we had more interaction with him during the story.

      The thing is that this is not an RPG, you’re forced into Johnny’s resurrection, you’re forced into another man’s story and obtuse view of the world. The one ending where you act like any normal human being would and take out the thing that’s killing you is the “Devil” ending. They strong arm you the whole way. Personally I believe they fumbled the story by having Jackie die basically right away and having Johnny in it as well. I would’ve loved to play alongside Jackie and even if near the end he died and I got the chip, then it would make more sense for me to then hurry up and either get this out, or maybe one of the other possibilities. I have yet to see any reason why I should care for Johnny and zero reason of why I would help him when I know the chip is the thing killing me🤷‍♂️

    One thing to note about the Buddhist monks.
    If you completed Sacrum Profanum - you can meet the two monks later outside one of the markets. You can ask them if a construct is a person and the answer they give you is basically "it's complicated" but they seem to lean ever so slightly into yes, where the capacity to suffer is what ultimately makes us alive.
    When you speak with the Zen Master before the 4th and final meditation the third question "Do you know what's happening to me?" leads to the following dialog:
    "You are dying. You have two soul within you - one wants to fight, the other is afraid."
    "Which one's mine?"

    A few things that have been cleared up since this video released
    Pondsmith has gone on to confirm that the cat in the flashback is not nibbles, but is Rache Bartmoss' cat from the TTRPG, Death Wish. He also confirmed (somewhat jokingly) that Nibbles is Death Wish's great great great great grandkitten
    Cyberpsychosis is real, but isn't caused by "too many cybernetics." It's an addictive response, and was apparently designed back in '88 specifically as a reference to Roid Rage, compounded with emotional trauma. Trauma can speed up the psychosis effect, and the reason V was able to avoid it (besides having massive plot armor until the very end) was because a lot of that damage was just shoved off onto Johnny because of the weird effects of the biochip. How this explains V not going psycho if they survive the plot and Johnny doesn't, we don't know.
    Another thing: I feel like it's more likely that Mr. Blue Eyes and the blue-eyed-men are AIs, rather than Aliens. AIs have been trying to escape the Net since the 4th Corporate War (the one that started in 2021), and I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't evidence that they finally made their way out and into the real world by taking control of people in meatspace.

Plus, Alt can transit between the Nets, and she is not trustable at all. Also, she's an amalgamation of AIs, a very very powerful one. I think this is the future of Cyberpunk, what we will find out to be a big issue in the next games.

      My theory is different, I don't think it was internal sabotage, folks don't like to lose money, and and if saying shit about their market pratices give them maney they would ship in with a smile in their faces.
      My theory is that theres something more sinister, but also more grounded in reality.
      I think all the hate towards CP77, was actually exponentially exploited by other publishers.
      You see, until the launching of CP77, CDPR was highly regarded as a company with principles and good market practices, not only that, but they did point their fingers to some giants of the industry that are well know by their disgusting market practices (EA and Ubisoft comes to mind).
      EA is an evil company and they having been trashing single player games for a long time now (last week there was that infamous tweet about single player games).
      Ubisoft on the other hand didn't have all that flak until recently, but one thing to note here is that a few months befoure the launching of CP77, CDPR market value was on the roof, surpassing guess wich company as the biggest gaming company of Europe? UBISOFT!
      This aren't the only companies, many more engage in shady market practices (hell, it's pretty clear now that EA literally want to turn the whole industry into gambling).
      So bare with me:
      Imagine that CDPR delivered the Cyberpunk that everyone was dreaming, no bugs at all, no performance issues, perfect optimization, lot more features than the game has, all perfectly balanced and smooth.
      The good points that folks love the game would stay the same, but instead of hate CDPR, folks would be praising them, they would claim that CP77 is the next chapter in the bible and so on...
      CDPR, not only would consolidate as a great company, but would also dominate the market of single player games, their "light" would force some of this companies to literally come out from the shadows and be better, CP77 had the potential to TURN the gaming industry upside down, and i don't say this because of the game itself, but because all the hype surrounding the game.
      Could be possible that when this folks smell blood in the water they came down like sharks to feast upon CDPR.
      By pointing their fingers on CDPR, they took all the attention against themselves and throw back at them.
      I'm not defending CDPR own sins here, just pointing out that if things work as everyone were expecting, the scenario would completely change.

I wasn't sure if it might've been a bug/oversight, but it definitely made the scene play out with far more tension. I excused it with the fact that I was not a threat to someone like Adam, so he didn't even bother raising a finger to try anything.

Eventually he may have been trapped in ICE or fried by other netrunners, and his body was never found, until they had to get rid of the old appliances in wherever he was staying and they just dumped the fridge in the landfill without checking to see what was in it.

    Here's a theory i got: The Arasaka ending is the only ending where V doesn't die. If you pay attention in every other ending where V "survives" ALT effectively kills V and makes a copy of their mind that she puts onto the relic chip, so your V who made it through all that journey is actually dead and now his body is being controlled by his copy from the chip. You might think that there's no difference, but from the point of view of the original V they no longer exist. The Devil ending on the other hand seems to imply that Arasaka simply cut the chip out of your head, thus preserving the consciousness of the original V.

    • @NoName-ym5zj
      @NoName-ym5zj 2 роки тому +49

      @@ArmelM101 No, it wouldn't, it's a storytelling conventionality, would be rather anti-climactic if game ended at that point with a black screen and not seeing a proper epilogue would be quite disappointing and also seamlessly changing our perspective from real V to engram V highlights one of Cyberpunk's main themes on the nature of consciousness and soul. If you think about it the whole game is meant to make us wonder if we are still the same person after we get the chip after it literally brings us back from the dead, what does make a person, are we just a sum of our memories, an engram or is there something else like a "soul"? I don't think CDPR or original creators would sink to the levels of "Tech magic" that somehow transfers you onto a chip, it is simply not possible to transfer your consciousness that way and characters throughout the game say it many times that whatever it is on the engram is a COPY, also the word engram itself alludes to that fact too. What the soulkiller and this whole process does is that it maps out your brain making a perfect copy of it and puts the COPY on the chip that simulates a thought-process, all the while killing you in the process, because of what i assume is a technological imperfection which is removed in the new commercial chip as is evident by the fact that Saburo was alive while his engram existed separately and i doubt people would buy into the relic if it meant they would die in the process of making a copy of their mind. Remember that soulkiller killed both Johnny and Alt, their bodies were empty husks and Alt fired V up with soulkiller as well, basically killing them, after that it was a matter of choosing which engram to put on the chip to control the body. I think while this might sound depressing, it also very much in-line with Cyberpunk's themes and brings up many interesting ideas. This really isn't even a theory, because it is explained to us in the game.

    I always took Takemura by his word, when he talked about "Bakeneko". Simply said, when I came to that point in the story, I've already noticed this cat being around at every important part of the story and it always being the same cat. This cat is the most subtle non-subtle foreshadowing I've ever seen.
    There are more layers to the symbolic nature of the cat. As for the Bakeneko, as Takemura describes it: "it brings misfortune, can restore the dead back to life." while the Sphinx is a guardian spirit. In other folktales and accumulated old and new myths, cats have a special connection with death itself, for example having multiple lives or the ability to see the dead / ghosts.
    The cat is such an obvious hint by the developers. It's so obvious, that it is maybe too obvious.
    About the Peralez job: Well, it's the one thing I regret the most doing. There's no good outcome for any of them. At the same time, no one should miss out on that job. You'll regret doing this job, but if you don't you miss out on one of the best.
    About CP77 Release: I played for 80/90 hours straight (I've eaten and slept, I'm not that demented) after release day on PC and encountered during that time 1 bug. When I finally decided to log out of the game, Pause it and look what people share about it online, I was baffled at the negativity and the experiences other peopel had, as I had none of it. My experience in the first week of CP77 was just neat from beginning to end. And, as I still have that save, after a "couple" more hours on that save, it is still stable. Yes, I've encountered more bugs since then, but it is still below Bethesda-level.
    CP77 never deserved this negativity. This hatred. I can only say what I've been saying from the start: When the devs announced the 2nd delay of release, they received death-threats from the community. And if I would've been in charge of development, at that moment I would've thought about not releasing it at all or continue to develop it, as I would never allow my employees to be the target of death threats. And after that, I completely understand why they rushed the release then. Either way, they would've received unreasonable hate. Not critique, hate from those who want to play it. From those who should be excited. I'm not saying you shouldn't be doubtful or voice critique, you should. But what CDPR received wasn't just critique, it was flat out hatred. And that just goes too far.
    That's not justifiable by any means. No matter how bad a game is at release, you don't have the right to personally threaten the devs or shower them in hate.

Weird choice to use a bald cat model for it, but whatever. I still don't understand why would such a rare thing as a cat be left on the street (especially with the nomad intro). Maybe there is really more to the cat than what meets the eye and I'm too used to excuse limitations of the medium to see such interesting parts when they are intentional.
      As for the release, I'm on the same boat with you. On the other hand, there are tons of people who felt deceived and even lied to by the pre-release promos. Those people tend to be led by emotions instead of reason and will not see the good parts of the game out of pure spite. And they will push their opinion on the other people and will do it loudly. If you follow them, they lead you to 3 different locations, Riot, I can't remember the other bar, and the roof of the Afterlife. On top of that, when I broke into one of the bars, there was a red and white room with a very similar setup to the hidden room in the Peralez house. The theory is probably going to reveal that the way they infected people without knowing is Joytoys in someway. Because frankly, I found the lack of them odd in a place like Night City. And this one is just my personal guess: I think when Lizzy went full chrome, someone messed with her head, and she's being used as a puppet. She's literally the only character in the ENTIRE GAME that every time you see her, she has bright pink. Also. The devs said it'll obvious in hindsight, and this seems to fall in to category way too well once you notice the lights aren't just randomly placed. Riot is locked behind story progression too, and far enough along that anyone who avoided Takemura (which a very large percent of the player base avoided as long as possible) would be locked out of it until they play the main story

    If you go through the voodoo boys to meet Alt Cunningham, some of what she says implies that even removing Johnny from you and re-uploading you back into your body via SoulKiller and the Relic...still comes at the cost of your soul. And given how that ending goes, with V still having complications from Relic malfunctions, it seems she may be right...

    • @boanoah6362
      @boanoah6362 2 роки тому +1

      It's less that SoulKiller does something to your soul and more so that it just kills your mind, V is still getting relic malfunctions because the thing is literally mutating his body and it's killing him. V got the double whammy of having his body get cyber-induced super cancer AND his brain got wiped then overwritten with a scan of his own mind essentially meaning he's already been killed and is now a cancerous meat puppet piloted by an AI that is technically pretending to be him.
      Especially since we find out that engrams aren't really a complete copy of a person's mind and more so an AI constructed out of data harvested from the victim's brain.

      @smoothie8795 2 роки тому +3

      Soo does this imply that we destroyed what we wanted to save (ourselves) by trying to ... save it? Or is there an ending without using SoulKiller? (Didn't play/watch all endings). But it's kinda ironic that we sped up the pace of our dying process (losing our soul) by trying to save our ass, poor V... On the other hand aren't we the "soul" of V and does us witnessing what happens after "the end" mean that V's soul survived?

    • @svahn1
      @svahn1 2 роки тому +3

      @@smoothie8795 There is no ending without using soulkiller one way or another, and V has to come to terms with that. I think it cost me like $80 and honestly I don't regret paying for it. The main story is just so awe inspiring and for a single player game to have 200hrs of playtime for me atleast it must be something special. Perhaps cyberpunks failure was simply it's marketing rather than the game itself. Maybe CDPR should have focussed on what makes their game special before advertising what it could of been.

    9:17 someone does actually does talk about the cat outside the clinic of viks but it’s near the end of the game if I rennet correctly
    12:34 Johnny probably had a bone marrow transplant which saved his life and likely gave him his silver hand during the war (if you didn’t know bone marrow transplant can change blood types)
    15:23 You can scan before getting his deck and it’ll confirm his identity. Also I think Johnny recognizing him is enough the bullshit thing about him is how we can’t use his deck and completing his quest only gives rare daemons (if I remember correctly though I guess that be chalked up to tech growing better) also I don’t ever remember meeting nix before this quest
    Biotech theory is cool but I think it’s also implied that the clones are for the arasaka corp as well
    My head canon for the statues is the it shows a corporate god that some corps talk about that the monks also worship be willing or not

      Yeah a few people acknowledged the cat. As for the bone marrow it is extremely unlikely but unlikely of course doesn't mean impossible. It happens as the majority of your red blood cells are made in your bone marrow so changing the bone marrow always runs a lot of risks-- luckily that's what tests are for. Maybe his blood type changed and that gave him a bit of a change in perspective to become Silverhand?
      You're also right about the daemons. I did that quest when I had all of them and about lost my mind lol
      The Biotechnica one is a bit off to me-- specifically the whole cannibalism part since if your scanner knows what human tissue is, the 'unknown' percentile inside of the All Foods bags isn't actually human. It's just some artificial filler like a lot of the food. My guess is it's like the "whats actually in your hotdogs" but with the future twist.

    The blood type / tag thing is explained in one of two ways; Johnny got a bone marrow transplant, OR... those dog tags aren't his, but a buddy who died when they were fighting in the South American wars. There's hints in the dialog where Johnny talks about the tags that the latter is the case. And Maximum Mike is Mike Stackpole, the man who created Cyberpunk 2013, 2020, and built the entire world. So this is basically GM speaking to the players with a touch of breaking the fourth wall. The "aliens" they're talking about are the AI's floating in the net, with the two biggest ones being the Bartmoss Collective and Alt Cunningham. Also, as Alt directly states, it's called "Soulkiller" for a reason. Finally, Cyberpunk 2077 didn't fail on release UNLESS you tried to play it on last-gen consoles and ran into a lot of the bugs.
