Minimum 3.5x1.5x1.5 feet tank... 4 feet also OK... Yes water change daily atleast 50 to 60%... Because there are so many fishes... So the bio load will be huge...
Sir, How much discuss I can keep in a tank with length 1.5 ft, breadth 1 ft, height 1.5 ft and what kind of best filtration can I use in it were the water change can be done only in once a week and sir one more question can I buy a discuss from you I live in Mumbai.
Hi Rahul, The mistake you made i think was to move the parents when the fry was still feeding on them especially so tiny and young in age. The parents were stress so much i think they ate the fry. Also if you had dropped water level the fry may had a better chance of finding parents. Initially what you could have done was either wait for fry to become bigger and starting eat regular foods or try raising fry artificially. Another method would have been if the 2 pairs had fry each then you could have fostered parenting by removing one pair and let the other pair who also has fry raise both. Also important tip is not to have any thing of black color in the tank with breeding pairs as the fry are instinctively attracted to black color. That's why parents darkened in color to attract fry. Try and use different color sponge for filters or cover the existing sponge with colored cloths or nylon netting that is safe for aquarium. Hope this helps. Best of luck with breeding.
Thanks for the tip.. But I had to move them because both the pairs where in the same tank with a partition and where always looking the glass when they saw each other... And the babies where getting exchanged though the partition.. This happened 2 times.. So I had to take this step.. But both the pairs have layed eggs again and have fries.. So it's OK... I generally remove out the sponge filter and heater once the babies hatch.. And put them back only much later..... I have made videos on how to breed Discus.. In that I have shown that and even covering the sponge filter with white cloth...
@@FwrapperAqua Ok kool. Was just sharing my discus experiences. Didn't look at that video as yet. Maybe someone could view comments and learn from it as well. Best of luck.

Keeping breeding tank in the bottom is not good.. Because they get scared when they see us from top... So table height is better.. If they get scared then then will eat up the eggs.. This is what happened with me so I do not recommend bottom rack
Do a 70% water change... And use good filteration media in the filter so it will break down ammonia.... beneficial bacteria build up is very important in any fish tank
Very nice Video!

Let them be there only... Once they lay eggs only its confirmed... Don't be in a hurry

Does 9"x20"x20" is a good size for discus breeding tank?
