I was watching something about what happened to Olivia Jackson and somehow I stumbled upon this video... I truly cannot believe how neglected and how ignored the amazing and incomparable stuntmen and women have been throughout Hollywood history. To be honest, I never even thought about it. You all deserve to be rewarded at every single award show, you deserve huge paychecks, and finally you deserve the admiration and respect from your peers and the audience for your skills and the risks you take for our entertainment. You risk your lives on a daily basis for us. Thank you for your enormous contribution. How we have taken you for granted. Never again!!!
I used to dO stunts in movie's and my buddy's are right unfortunately it is like this in many industries men didn't land on the moon by them self's but they get 99% of the recognition.✌🇬🇧👍keanu is one of the most down to earth actor's and as always given thanks to everyone who worked in the movie and even give them money out of is own contact what a great man he is keanu you have my respect for life buddy 👍
I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE GREATEST RESPECT FOR THIS PEOPLE SINCE I FIRST SAW MOVIES!! WITHOUT THEM IT WOULD NOT BEE GREAT MOVIES!! MARTIN GRACE, YAKIMA CANUTT,DAR ROBINSON, BENNIE DOBBINS,TERRY LEONARD ETC LOVE THEM ALL!
These people risk there lives to give US the thrills at the movies!! When i was a young man i was blown away what i was seeing in the movies! I wanted to be stunt guy! I did some stunts by my self and i loved it!! As one stunt guy said " i did not talk just listen..just listen..to the other stunt people....to learn. " and oscar for stunt people would be the next cat in at the oscars...
Great documentary. Stunt performers should definitely be recognised at awards. Movies would be nothing without your hard work & dedication & courage. Thank you all Ps needs subtitles for the Tomas interview thanks
Such a great film! Thank you!! The "no space for a new category" excuse is obviously bullshit... the Academy added (and subsequently retracted, thank god) the 'popular film' film category just last year 🙄These amazing stunt people should get the credit they deserve.
The best documentary I have watched in years. Thank you for making it and telling the story of these wonderfully talented people. May the powers that be in Hollywood (and the like) give credit where it is due and include stunts in the awards category for films!
So that's where the idea for The Fall Guy came from. 😳 Just one thing I noticed out of place in this video. In the section at around the 18:00 mark. Michael Lush was not a professional stuntman. He was an ordinary member of the public who went onto a TV show to do a bungee jump from a crane. Had it been a professional stunt double doing a professional shoot, it wouldn't have garnered the attention it did on TV and in the press.
Absolutely amazing documentary! Loved the balance of the excitement and dangers of the job. I really want to get into stunts but I'm (already?) 24 and have no martial arts background whatsover.. just dancing and weight training and I feel like I'm already behind on the people my age that are already in stunts you know?
Get that out of your head (your age I mean)! A friend of mine got into stunts at the age of 30, and she's kicking some butt! Just take some classes and learn how the body moves and get good at manipulating it! Train and know your body. Good luck! :)
On the topic of "awards for stunts": Competing for the best acting performance, script, direction, etc. = Sure, why not. Competing for the most dangerous stunt = That sounds a lot like competing for the best Darwin Award. I'd reconsider that notion.
Can anyone please tell me whether this is appropriate for a 10 year old? :) He's really interested in Action Films and how they are made. I'd like him to learn about stunt men...
Thanks for an excellent post ❤Dobie Wan Kanobie ❤ revisited June 11. 2024❤❤❤

A fantastic documentary that provides a lot more insight into the work that the stunt people do.
Thank you! An awesome production. May you all get the recognition you deserve!

Good ol' Keanu Reeves. Thank you stuntpeople, without you guys Hollywood is just a place ;)
Such a great film! Thank you!!

Cool documentary I really enjoyed it
amazing work so many unsung heroes in our industry. looking forward to your next project :)
Great documentary, well done!
I liked that Yakima Canutt subtly flipped the Academy the middle finger in his honorary Oscar speech (37 min).
Congrats on the documentary!
All stuntman superb

I can't wait to do this one day
Respect
10 unlike are from oscars, bafta , goya, etc...
Movies would be useless without stunts.
Where the content 😀. This was great
On the topic of "awards for stunts":

Competing for the most dangerous stunt = That sounds a lot like competing for the best Darwin Award.
I'd reconsider that notion.
Įspūdingai !!!
Bobby Holland hanton he is amazing men❤
Without stunt people there wouldn't be action movies and what's happening with the Oscars is unfair!!!!!
I've always wondered if they do stunts for video game motion capture?
Yes, they do 😊
I wonder if Tome Cruise ever went to the Taurus awards.
Give credit where it is due, any production is about teamwork
Can anyone please tell me whether this is appropriate for a 10 year old? :) He's really interested in Action Films and how they are made. I'd like him to learn about stunt men...
Hello, Veronika, yes, you can watch this documentary together with your kid 😊
@@inpraiseofaction8349 thanks!
what about a stunt-people strike - if writers can to it...
A2i8 !!! ; )
I think stunt performers absolutely deserve recognition but this documentary is actually pretty boring for being about stunts
I lose respect for any actor that does not acknowledge his stunt person. The same for any director who does not acknowledge his stunt crew.
