One thing worth noting is that if you're interested in building this rig, test out the phone connection as a monitor first because I know a lot of people have problems with connections and frame drops. If you're looking for a cheap monitor to add instead I've added 2 in the description. 1 is my fav cheap monitor by portkeys, and another is currently on sale for only $60

I am go glad I found your videos a while back. You are the reason I got a ZVE10 to move into video and build a rig. If I added the Portkeys Monitor, what cables do i need to connect with the camera and battery pack?
Nice rig. Will get the amateur to start thinking like a pro. One way to make a client think your cheap setup is an expensive camera with all those parts attached. Excellent video, really enjoyed it.
Monitor+ can work via hdmi. Camera -> hdmi cable -> cheap usb hdmi capture device (looks like flash stick, and 1080p enough) -> usb a to c otg cable -> smartphone. This setup doesn't lag instead of sony app via wi-fi.
Personally I think building cinema rigs for mirrorless is silly, but that is exactly why I love it!!! Adds a lil personality to your camera set up and it changes overtime as you get more settled as a videographer/cinematographer. Great vid, no matter the price point seeing someone rig out their camera always make me smile. Good luck to the give away persons
Finding your channel was such a gem. It's helped me learn alot about my camera and ways i can maximize it through the right gear i really love the vids. keep it up man (I will be copying this rig 🙏)
This looks almost exactly how my ZVE10 rig looks! I do have a Viltrox DC-550 monitor but I also use the image app when I need a secondary screen. I love people’s reactions when they see my rig lol it adds to my excitement of building rigs😅
Really fun video, Thomas. I really appreciate the walkthrough. I hadn't seen the $500 video, but I'll go sniff it out to see how you solved for $250. So fun!
Dope! I was so excited to watch this and like most of your content it delivered. I hadn't thought cinema rigs were possible or practical for me until now, so this really opened up a lot of things for me. Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed content!
This is exactly the video I needed. I’ve been racking my brain for week on a ZV-e10 rig that would require a Vmount. Appreciate this video. I plan on doing this exact setup with a Helios 44-2.
This camera was not on my radar before I started watching your channel. It looks like a nice option that would tick off some check marks that I have when looking to upgrade my current camera (Canon Rebel T5). Thank you for excellent content that is relevant and thoughtful.
@@thomasjmcclure yeah changed it a little anyway, just bought my camera and only came with a stock lens so I also ordered sigma 16&30mm lens (got rid of the monitor and battery momentarily for the lens)

Hey thomas, I just saw a video of you and now, I just watched 10 videos in a row and I LOVE your content. But I just asked myself, if you could do the same concept for the Sony A 6400, because I’m thinking about buying it. I didn’t saw a video already online from you, but if you already did the video, could you send me the link? Also I’m from Germany, so if my English isn’t too good, I’m sorry 😂
can you make a video about how you can make money from your camera? especially videography. I wanna know how to make my portfolio stand out better and how can I find people and make them interested to be my client. Love your videos pls keep uploading

Awsome video as always! Does the phone show videofeed if you close the screen? When using monitor plus it stops when closing. 😒 I just bought luminar neo recently, do you have any plan to make a video about that program? Showing some simple things that can be useful?
I haven’t tried that yet, I’ll give it a go and let you know. I’m tempted to yeah! Obviously it’s here in this video due to the contract of a sponsorship, but I genuinely love it and probably will yeah
Hey! What's ur advice should i get the A7III/A7C with sigma 24-70 mk2 OR a6700 with 1.4 sigma trio (16-30-56). I want to do some video/photo work for businesses (cofee shops/restaurants / car dealerships... ) And do u think that the 4k 60 + new ai focus on a6700 will really stand out and matters for what I'm going to use the camera for
Between the a7iii and a7c the main thing is whether you need the flip out screen or the dual card slots. Both good cameras, but yeah the auto focus is pretty fantastic on the a6700, plus you’ll get more background blur with those lenses than the 24-70 f2.8. Realistically you can’t go wrong with either choice, they’ll both produce a great image, depends on what kinda price you can get them for
@@thomasjmcclure ty so much! I think i will go with a6700 I also want to ask about the lenses what about them do u think i made the right decision or there is some better lenses collection in the same budget about 1000$ -1200$

The zve10 plus a Helios is a great combo! If you ever get a chance to find a used one cheap, a Viltrox speed booster with it is awesome
