Was a good day! Full send always! Car did well on the day and this was the second race knowing a had issues which was a boost pipe and map sensor which had occurred prior this race (at the time I didn’t know it was these exact faults)* Borgwarner 7670 doing bits and spooling so quick as wasn’t shifting early but knew soon as I’d go into 5th over boost issue was happening. Would Love to be back again in a different car 👀 as the scooby is now sold. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

@@gmain1977 nothing wrong with my shifting, I’ve driven plenty of manuals and I’ve got a 2JZ Supra Manual. I had a issue on the first race before the ferrari which at the time I didn’t know was a overboost issue. but still sent it for the content.
Was great to see a supercar vs a tuned car on the channel! Had a fast and furious vibe to it like the Ferrari v Supra. Shame the Impreza had issues though

Subaru not geared for drag racing, im pretty sure the type RA STI has a lower ratio gearbox than standard.

The gc8 looks great but omg i can’t believe that not a single subaru that has been on the show recently couldn’t finish the races. I mean the least you can do is check your maps and go on a few test runs since everything is scheduled just to check that the car performs as it should.Preparation is half the win.
This is the real life of heavily tuned cars that is not shown to people. It can run great one day, and run bad the next day. When heavily tuned car goes to a drag race meeting you can be amazed by how many cars can't race because something goes wrong and the car can't start or drive at full power. Doing drag racing with engine issues is not worth the risk (engine built that worth £100k by example).
For heavily tuned car, doing one simple miss-shift (like the previous suby tuner) should ring the end of the day, and not keep racing. But I understand that the "pressure" of people present this particular day, you "have" to keep racing even if the engine is already toast because of the first missshift.
An other example, if you don't charge the battery of your SuperCar and let it two weeks (by example). You can be sure that the car will not start at all. This a "common" issue of Lotus Elise/Exige. The battery is too small. "Light is right" of course, but un-reliable is not right too 😃
Can't assume not one Subaru owner didn't do test runs prior to coming to the show.
There's a pattern here with high power Scoobys... aside from the gearbox, sounds like he is hitting boost cut in high load... Romain can fix that with 2 clicks 😊

The noise from the stones in the wheel arches of the Subaru is insane :) sticky tyres and a runway.

Awesome races! Maybe an unpopular opinion but judging by the 0-60 times, I believe it still would’ve been a close race if the Scooby had no issues, but also if the Ferrari driver had much quicker reactions on the launches too. But huge respect and many thanks to both drivers for using the cars how they should!

Predictable outcome - my first thought was that the fast-from-the-factory Ferrari would have an advantage in dependability. When a tuned car is working well, it can be a different story, but the important word is 'when'.
I'd still have the Subaru because out on normal roads and running at 6/10ths it would still be quite enough - and there wouldn't be the supercar worry about every mile on the clock taking pounds off the resale value, so you could enjoy it properly. The Scooby is an enthusiast's car, the Ferrari is a speculator's car.
I love the subie rumble but that Ferrari sounded so sick. Flat plain crank engines sound so good.

Watching all the tuner cars fail with reliability issues constantly is why I will keep my sti stage 2 and not looking for crazy power as you get massive dramas and will need deep pockets once you start 400hp at wheels and higher.
That's why I like my performance Tesla. It's very reliable, no oil change , no speak plugs replacement, no annual service and not messing around with the cold engine whenever you want to send it. Just put your foot down and it goes and costs nothing to add miles.

My thoughts exactly - if you’re bringing your car on this channel at least have a little tune up on a dyno to make sure it’s all good before racing 🤷🏼

The pebbles, dirt, rocks on that strip are insane. I'd never put my car in that situation. The fact that so many people are willing to do this considering how much money, effort, wrench time is just insane to me. Props to them but I care about my car too much to risk that kind of destruction. I get its an open runway that allows you to do this but there has to be something better and safer for the people involved and their cars.
