Another legendary duel, as a super bike rider myself I always look forward to these races just to see how the bikes compare to extremely fast car's, it did sound like the clutch was slipping on the zx10r all the way through the gears.but I have to say respect to the kawasaki rider he actually knows how to peddle a superbike. Congrats to all involved in this video. I love Sunday morning's.
hi yes it was screwed up before the actual races i ran two 9.44 sec quarters in testing, and gear shift was sticky could not use quick shifter

Plaid is rapid. The biggest thing for me is that it can do this in 100% factory warranty trim. No reliability issues. No time at a tuner. No endless breaking of components.
And costs half the price of that 992 Porsche. 😂
@thesaifcreations9111 here in the US it is about a fourth of the price since the $7,500 tax credit, the price dropping down on teslas, no dealers fees. Tesla doesn't have many options, Porsche options are hella expensive and labor, gas guzzler tax etc. So Plaid under it is like $99k out the door or less, and the 992 9111 turbo s is close to $400k after taxes, tune and modifications.

That ninja rider has some serious skill, pulling off those times without using the quick shifter, he was letting off the revs to change gear so something was up from the start, he would have had some crazy times if he was quick shifting. Best rider ive seen on here and just shows all that power in a h2 and turbo bikes is pointless if you cant put it down
His clutch was also slipping very slightly unfortunately.

I nearly fell off the sofa with excitement until i heard the clutch slipping on the 10R. Fair play to the rider for carrying on and using the clutch. The Kawasaki launch control system lets you do 3 launches and then needs to cool down for a while. The Woolich race map lets you do more hence the fried clutch plates after trying to boss those missile like cars about. Well done to all 😊

@@Jason.cbr1000rrwhen your RPMs go to max but the bike hasn't actually accelerated to match, and the rear tire isn't spinning.
On a bike that isn't stretched, you'll wheelie before you spin the tire, so it's easier to tell when the clutch is slipping.
I cooked the oil off the wet clutch in testing ran two 9.4 sec runs on dragy would have shown even faster on v box datalog, time it came to the rolls ons it had enough, was lucky to get one launch out of it hence it's slower 9.7 run was shot to bits then.
After 100 miles ride home it's back to normal working again, but I shall return with heavy duty clutch springs and new race clutch, quick shifter working and use launch control, and down a couple on the front sprocket

The RPM and speed should correlate assuming everything is moving together, but when he twists the throttle the RPM goes straight to redline and he heat accelerated to match. That's why he spends so much time at redline before he shifts. The bike has to catch up to the engine before he shifts
@@Jason.cbr1000rr As someone that had an R1 with a slipping clutch its pretty much this, the higher up in the gears you go the worse the slippage is, usually 1st wont slip unless the cluch is cooked. You can tell the difference between wheel spin and clutch spin a few ways too

And i believe electric cars have less drivetrain losses when compared to traditional ICE cars. When an electric and ICE car have the same p:w ratio, the electric car will most likely be quicker due to the said advantages

I could tell his clutch was going out throughout all of the races. Let him run the entire event back! Lol. I was wondering if it was a weird tune he had going because it seemed to hang at higher rpm without spiking, but when it broke I was like YEP knew it.
He replied to another comment saying it was messed up before the event, he ran a couple 9.44 quarters before these races and noticed the QS wouldn't work because of it.
trying to compete with model S is torture for ICE cars. they were dragged into this trap of doing drag racing. they have different advantages: lightweight, feel, sound, fast cornering, more challenging to drive especially with a manual transmission.

Don’t forget that the Tesla is also a lot heavier than the Porsche. So as far as weight to power comparison, it’s either fair or favors the Porsche.
@@FlipBoxStudio Perhaps, but are you looking at the peak hp number and nothing else? You do realize there is a power curve for IC cars right? Electric makes full torque at zero rpm with none of the drivetrain losses. Thats why straight line they usually do well, especially 0-60. Also looking at the interior, that Plaid has some serious weight reduction.

Fantastic video as always! Love your channel. I dont know why the bike owner/tuner isn't using the quickshifter that not only comes standard on the bike, but then with woolich you can use race tool, and make it shift even quicker.
He burnt clutch previous to these races and said it made qs unusable. Getting to be a real trend for these car/bike matchups to badly fumble the bike side of the race.

It does.....the 2016 ZX-10R did come stock with KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter) as part of its OEM electronics. It also came stock with traction/launch/wheelie control.
He wasn't using the quick shifter because the clutch was toasted. You can hear it in the video. The bike goes right to redline but he hasn't hit redline speeds yet. It does it in nearly every gear.
Please tell the owner of the bike to get a quick shifter fitted!!
It does but the rider said he wasn't using it as the clutch was slipping before the first event causing the quick shifter to not work right.

Hi big Thanks to Jamie for allowing me on, Big sorry to all, I let the biking community down with an un prepared bike and not ridden more than 40 miles this year and none anywhere near the rev limiter, last summer I ran 3.83 100 to 200 on stock gearing and stock length, I was going to turn up like last year, but Jamie was initially trying to get me to race 1900bhp lambo and a 1600bhp es Porsche, but on the day they couldn't make it, so decided to stretch it, on the eve of the races riding two hours in the rain any grease on the bikes gear linkage had washed off leaving it sticky when trying to use the quick shifter in testing making the bike not change properly risking the gear box dogs, so decided to go manual shifts that was hard to shift, plus could do with an oil change, anyway should have done one or tests before and not as many as I actually did, my clutch was done before the roll on races and the 1st standing start killed it for good.
In testing I ran two 9.4 sec quarters before all the races, they are on the dragy leader board if anyone wants to see.
Also dragy was slightly slower higher times than the V box we used in the day.
I'm sorting the clutch taking off the grab handle for my wife, fixing the shifter and down a few on the front sprocket, also use launch control and I will be back to do it properly, as for laying down flat on the tank it's a tad scary has lots of grooves to get your tyres in and holes and bumps to deal with it's far from ideal,

The thing which is rarely mentioned with Tesla’s and other electric cars is they have hardly any drivetrain losses.
So comparing crank hp in an ICE to the Teslas hp figure is pointless. As are the power to weight figures,
I’d guess the Tesla has a better whp to weight ratio which is what matters. Apologises if Jamie’s car is rated at whp… :)

Intereasting to watch. I am a bike nut but also have a Plaid. Bikes are more challenging to launch even stretched. Be interested to know what the state of charge was for the Tesla as well. That has a direct impact on the performance.

It was even slipping on the run he won. It may win all with a fully working clutch and using the quickshifter
@@jamieswain4888 The way the 911 goes off the line to be beaten on gear change delay is bonkers. The bike's set up must be some sort of sweet spot. Them plaids are just silly, it's good to see their are street weapons that can keep them honest.
