    Im loving seeing your smaller monstera. I have a baby well had her a year now shes doing good but no where near old enough to have any split leaves. You dont usually see smaller ones in videos so its encouraging to see what mine will hopefully turn out like. I didnt know it would take so long to start seeing split leaves then i saw a big one that needed saving and was 40% off so i had to buy it 😅 great tips!

    Thank You. I Love my Monster, just got her today. Bless.... As for watering, I suggest spending alot of time with her at first. Staring at her, Misting her leaves and stems, gently wiping her leaves with warmed filtered rainwater.... soon you can just tell by looking at her if what she needs.. water, food whatever. Almost a telepathic connection... kinda. :) Bless.

    One day I kept my monstera in sunlight since it was kept in my bedroom. But that caused leaf burn. Few of the leaves were damaged because of that. So what should I do in this case? Should I remove those leaves or what? Plz help.

    • @amberfrazier575
      @amberfrazier575 7 місяців тому +1

      You’ll just have to wait until it out grows the leaf and they drop. You can remove them if it is no more than 25% of the stems

    • @franciscote9975
      @franciscote9975 6 місяців тому +3

      Remove the damaged leaves if they are very conspicuous. That will save you the anguish of being reminded of the event.
      However, u may just leave them on if they don't bother you.

      cut off the burnt part of leaf. if you want to keep monstera in sunlight after keeping it in a shadow, you should do it slowly, firstly put it to a place that’s just a little more sunny then previous, after some time (longer better) again move it in more sunny place, and keep doing it each time giving enough time to monstera to adapt to sunlight

      I put my monstera outside for the summer, they burned like crazy but then thrived and put out so much new growth.

      Just “leaf” it alone, decrease the sunlight and introduce it to sunlight more gradually. It probably wasn’t too bright, but instead the suddenly increase in light which shocked / burned it

    Mine has been growing for the 4mo I have had it. However the leaves have started drooping. Not the entire stwm but just the leafy part at the end of the stem is droopy. I've been so scared to over water, am I underwatering? It is in a fairly bright room w/West facing windows, about 4' from window.

    I finally bought my first Monstera about 2 years ago. Have to admit, it hasn't gone as smoothly as I expected.. With all my other plants, I've quickly figured out how often they need watering. But with the Monstera I'm just not sure.. When it makes new leaves they tend to turn yellow before growing big ~ trying to figure out if I'm over- or under-watering, or is it a light-issue...

      When new leaves first appear they are lighter in color and a softer, rubbery tissue. Is that how yours look?

    Just noticed roots coming out of the drainage hole, but it’s now early September here in Massachusetts :/ next week will be in the high 70s/80s but is it too late? Should I wait till Spring? Should I separate some out or is it ok to leave the family together?

      If it’s one or two. Could just be old leaves. If not check you watering, if rootbound or pest. Any of these?

    I know you posted 2 months ago, but I hope you can see this message. I have a mounstera for 8 years . She is beings struggling by movings and different spot through the house. Right now I replanted with a good soil and all the mix that you mention here. Is being 1 week and she look sad and turning yellow. I don’t know what else I can do. By the way she is in my living room windows where she doesn’t get direct light, but is bright. She is big and I notice that she didn’t have too much roots. The pot is the same size , so I don’t know if I had to size down the pot.

    How do you make the monstera leaves shiny?

    • @taylorhillard4868
      @taylorhillard4868 5 місяців тому

      Theres a product called leaf shine, its some kind of oil. You wipe it over the leaves and it removes dust and makes the leaves shiny. However, if you use it, the plant will not be able to tolerate direct sunlight for a while. It may burn if you do put it in direct sunlight after that oil is on the leaf.

    The tip of the one leave is getting dark brown. What could be the reason? I water the monstera in every 2 weeks

    • @monstrofarm
      @monstrofarm  4 місяці тому

      Water when the top layer of soil is dry. Which 2 weeks seems about right depending on the volume of roots. Could be fertilizer burn 🔥 from excess fertilizer or maybe the soil needs to be leached. Also, try using RO, rain or distilled water.
