Thanks, my drivers side rear glass needed a nudge backwards to be in alignment with the other side. I only noticed it when installing clearplex on the corner windows and OCD kicked in haha. Fairly easy job. Your video and a couple other videos made me more confident to saving my self an appointment/trip to get it knocked out. I only had like 2 alignment things that were 1/8th or 1/16th out. Impressed with the mechanisms over some past cars I've had. Much easier design.
Very helpful video. My door was driving me crazy because there was a clicking sound that I would hear anytime driving over bumps. I took the panel apart so many times trying to find it. Then I noticed that the passenger side window was sitting much higher than the driver side. So I followed your video, lowered the glass; and now the sound is gone. Seems that since the glass was sitting so high that it was tapping against something inside of the door.
those 2 black plugs at 2:18 cover glass guideblocks. if all you need are minor adjustments you can raise/lower the front/back with whatever sized torx and skip all the in/out adjustments. if you need in/out adjustment you have to adjust the mounting studs for the regulator. you can see one in your video and the other is hiding behind the door speaker so you'd have to take the door speaker off to get to the front one.
So i recently noticed my 2023 Model Y driver windows was VERY out of whack, to the point that the window hit the glass pillar, no ideea how it didnt break. Sadly there are no quick adjusment screws like with the Model 3, i had to take the door panel off, unscrewed the two big bolts like in this video but i just brute forced it as i couldn't reach a particular adjustemnt screw. It worked but i dont think this is how Tesla intended it to work
Nice work. Its a shame that owners have to adjust their own doors and windows for proper alignment. Ive seen crap, destructive work from the SC's. Glad im a DIY guy, too, because you can't rely on anybody these days to do good work.
You should be moving the glass around to fit the opening with the door closed and tightening it in position with the door closed. Think about it, the factory workers are not going thru this trial and error process. This is the factory procedure for most frameless glass.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Took the car to the service center to fix the window getting stuck and now I have wind noise due to bad window alignment.

Thanks for the detailed video. It helped me adjust my window properly.

I am with you.... I got wind noise too, too it to SC and they refuse to do any adjustment, said the noise level is within spec. WTF!
Thanks for sharing I’ll try this on my model 3 this weekend I’m hearing wind noice on the fwy 😤

Would this possibly help with wind noise? I’ve already tried adjusting the glass closer to the seal

In theory. I would like to take the door panel completely off to accomplish what you’re talking about.
Hey thank you! Worked for me. The only thing is that mine is a 2018 Model 3 LR and it wasn't a 27 Torx it was a #30.
Cheers!
Did you adjust up and down or just side to side?
What screw i need to turn for Angle fitting? as mine is hitting the door pilar when closing
logically, I can unscrew those 2 screws to take out the glass directly? I'm planning to remove them to take it back to home for tinting.
Thanks man
Thanks !!!
Is this a fix for window noise? If I nudged it up a bit
It made mine better, yes
You would think Tesla tests for wind noise. Bastards need to pressure test!
Dude get a tripod for your camera so we can see what your doing! Thanks!
WHY? NOT WATCHING FOR OVER 12 MINUTES TO FIND OUT, THAT'S WHAT THE DESCRIPTION IS FOR.
This is youtube, not Barnes and Noble. Its made for videos
