That’s amazing is you came up with 30 questions that you really should think about before living in the Philippines. Good job covering all the questions and making people think about them. It would be interesting to know your specific answers as they applied to you when you moved to the Philippines. 😁😁

I visited the Philippines to see if I would like to live in Makati and in the province on a permanent basis. After 31 days, I decided it wasn't for me. I left March 3rd and I'm so glad to be back home in Chicago. >>>> Let's go Ukraine! US Marine veteran ready to fight for you.

Great video, love that you added chapters, especially with this many questions. I've been seriously thinking about whether I want to move there permanently, so this was a well timed video, gives me a lot to think about to make an informed decision. Can I deal with heat & humidity? Maybe not so well, but I think it'll help me fit in better with the culture since heat makes me sluggish which will help with standing in lines and slow pace life style LOL. Thank you very much for this.

A great list of things to consider.
I have been visiting the Philippines since 1989 and I married a Filipina at that time.
If I were to put the 30 questions/my answers into Pro and Con lists, now, I would have more in the Con list than the Pro list. Had I moved to the Philippines in my 40s, when I was more flexible, more accepting and more tolerant, I would have adapted much easier.
Now, in my 70s, I am less accepting of the failing that I see during my recent visits. Whilst some things have changed and improved, I see much that has stood still or regressed.

I think it’s important to make a plan to deal with inflation. It can be economical to live in the Philippines but it’s not free and I don’t see it getting significantly cheaper in the long term.
In the US, you might deal with inflation by getting a part time job or working more hours at your regular job but if you are in the Philippines, those opportunities don’t exist to the same extent if at all.

its a good thing you mentioned SS pensions. Because most of the retirees who don't have enough income to sustain them in their countries are looking for somewhere to live a reasonably healthy life without the stress of running out of cash flow.

👍roosters and stray dogs in the mountains of Mexico also. Never get bored cuz I'm a musician. I play guitar. I want to be in baguio because it's warmer at night there than in San Cristobal Mexico 😆 trade offs on items but financially the same 👌such as Wi-Fi 26 USD per month here but 40 in the Philippines. Cigarettes are cheaper in the Philippines that's a trade off example! My brother my daughter and my bank only contacts. All I need is a small studio, bed CR and a small cooking area 😆I'll be there after the election 👌

Hoping that Laguna and Cavite be also considered as a retirement place. Not just the touristy expat famous provinces of the country. Laguna is very near to beautiful tourist spot in luzon. Also around hour away from makati and BGC through expressways..Tourist places nearby are Like pagsanjan falls. Hotsprings resort. Caliraya lake.. Los banos trails… san pablo lakes… tagaytay taal volcano is like an hour away. Just browsing through the vids to check how many retirees would like to come to the phils so that i could configure what kind of apartment they would like to have. How much they are willing to spend.. been dreaming of putting up my own apartment. Been thinking of making two bedrooms ..up and down for around $160 a month. Its going to be spacious with parking area. And subdivision is facing redwood resortBy the looks of the comments. A lot would want to retire here. I am just wondering how i am gonna market it once its done. Hope i can get some prospects here so that i can start doing it in the near future.

I have seen some things that visitors have a hard time with . Lines get used to being first in line only to find that all of a sudden you are 20th in line. In general the largest vehicle has the right away. If you ever suffer from road rage this is not the place for you .Do not plan on stores opening and closing in a timely manner.

Thank you again for a great video. I have been sort fortunate when coming to the Philippines. I had people I knew and I am flexible enough to let them choose for me. I did make a pre-move visit and set out some of my requirements. I did have to make a relocation change due to the heat. There is a difference between Arizona heat and Philippines heat! I am also fortunate that I get all my medications through the VA in Manila. But much of my healthcare has been with local doctors and dentists. I do miss not having a chiropractic doctor - the adjustments are like a massage to me. I currently have to make a choice, which isn't easy I can move to Iloilo, where there are very modern hospitals and clinics or return to US. Manila or Cebu aren't for me. Tired of big town living, but don't want to be too far from some things cities can offer. I'd like to stay here, but I am just not sure. I like the humidity. Keeps my skin moist. Returning to Arizona means I'd start shriveling up like a prune! Thanks again for a good video. God bless.

I am going to live in the Philippines 3 to 4 months a year. The things that are troubling about the Philippines, the poverty, the pace in which they move, the slowness of it will start to get on my nerves so I think three months is a good amount of time for me to be in the Philippines and then come back home to America. I do have a house out in the province and I'm buying a condo in Manila for when I do get older down the road and I may need to be near some good doctors. That being said the benefits the negatives of living in the Philippines will suit me just fine for 3 months. As far as keeping in contact with people, that's what social media, emails and messenger are for

I can only speak for myself. I grew up in Cincinnati and started working on the street at age 4, in 1960. If nobody put money in my cup, I did not eat that day. I have lived Philippines poverty and understand it on an emotional level. I used to give food to small kids, in the Philippines, not money. I wanted food I could eat, not money I had to give to somebody later. Please give food if you want to help that child NOT MONEY.

When the Philippines was closed to International Tourism, one needed an Entry Exemption Document (EED - citing the purpose for retirement) and then a 9a Visa to enter the Philippines to then apply for a SRRV, if they wanted to retire in the Philippines.
Now that the Philippines is open to International Tourism for Executive Order 408 countries, can someone from one of those countries enter the Philippines visa exempt for 30 days, and then apply for the SRRV while in the Philippines?
Or does someone from an EO 4O8 country still need the EED and 9a Visa before arriving, to apply for the retirement visa?

Good video. The hardest part of being there for me will most likely be the poverty. It must be hard to bear witness to such a huge problem yet be powerless as an individual to do much about it. And I will most likely not be living in a expat condo tower either so I'll most likely see it daily.
