In response to that one inquiry you made about someone boiling or melting in a pool of acid or what ever, are you referring to *Who Framed Roger Rabbit* by any chance? The villain at the end, Judge Doom, secretly a Toon in disguise as a regular Human, does in fact fall into a vat of "Dip" (a bubbling, broiling concoction that can essentially melt down and erase a Toontown character (Roger Rabbit, Jessica Rabbit, Daffy Duck, et cetera.) and is put down for good since Toon characters can't really *die* a normal death, they're *Cartoon* characters. Granted, this ISN'T a Disney movie, so it might not be the movie you're thinking about, but I can't really recall too many movies in general (least of all ones that are by Disney or Disney affiliated, a la Pixar and the like) that actually *have* a premise that ends this way. And you're right! Discord IS a garbage shit ass app, sadly. You still sound fine in the video, though! Love your work and it was a blast getting to see you play along with GGG in Mechabellum.
@@Keric22 You're right, it totally is Who Framed Roger Rabbit! Although the scene I remembered specifically was the poor shoe, like it was so comically violent for absolutely no reason. It wasn't just getting submerged into a vat of acid, it was getting forcefully and slowly submerged into a vat of acid head-first while you hear it's muffled screams as it's dissolving in real time. Somehow I genuinely think the Fallout cut scene is better?
My jaw dropped when I saw Davey do a round 3 War Factory. Nobody does that and the Davey went "hehe, I'm gonna do the stupid thing" and he did, and it was absolutely hilarious.
Not just 'as much' they actively cost him the game. The barrage killed off alot of his balls, otherwise he might have gotten that first factory. But worse was the acid. The acid absolutely doomed him, plus he used it on an enemy force that was already handled, unlike the barrage where it was sorta needed. Grant had a unit composition that could probably beat what he was facing, he just had terrible positioning and topbar use. The snipers were also too close to the boats (which btw had no crawler escort) and you don't want your MPs together. You want them spread and you absolutely want to have one beside your vulcan.
On the subject of chaff: While Grant is right about its military application, the original meaning of "chaff" is the seed coverings for grains that are discarded after harvesting - see the old adage "to separate the wheat from the chaff." Now, Davey is claiming to be in Rural Kansas. A state which everybody is convinced is 100% cornfields (reality: it's only like 60% cornfields because other stuff grows there too, and Topeka decided to exist). Corn husks are technically a form of chaff by the definition above. From this, I conclude that the term chaff fell out of favor in agriculture a long time ago, and I need to quit reading so many old books. If even the corn farmers don't know what "chaff" is, why the hell do I?
kinda is memey when the military still uses chaff ( as a missile guidance disruptor) as a term much like how only Canadians and rust belt people use honcho ( a Japanese word) while the Japanese use engrish word (groupo leedar [SIC]) instead.
DaveyGunface and Giant Grant are my favorite bromance. I love the idea of Grant showing up to Davey's house and just holding him up by the scruff of his neck like a kitten. VIDEO. NOW. FUN! :D
I would watch more of this. Seems like a great game, I can understand what's going on without having ever played it, and you two are very good together.
Neat to see you branching out to other non-starcraft games :D Like you said, starcraft is only going to live for so long, and I'd like to see you keep making content even after.
Oh I see Mechabellum has had some updates since the last time I look. Problem I have when I play is I'm trying to re-learn what I'm doing and just get dumpstered lmao
I'd like to know how you lose with 2 or more upgraded war factories, when the AI defaults to "whats my closet target" even when units have both the damage type and the range to kill the giant machines with big guns but waste themselves on spawned units.
Scorpions. The answer to builderfactories is acidblast scorpions. Factories are actually a really bad unit. Had grant not killed his own army with acid, they would have gotten rolled.
So, grant makes 2 glaring mistakes in this video First, what the fuck were those orbital bombardment positionings? It was closer to his units that the enemies. I know it's hard to remember when the engagement line is, but it wasn't there Sticking both fire and acid on an omega block of crawlers was also very very silly.. And finally, he made the mistake of thinking missile interceptor on mustangs isn't the singular worst upgrade in the game. Even against pure stormcallers it barely breaks even with non interceptor mustangs. It is Simply terrible.
@@huynhphucm445 Yeah... the mustang meta was insane. The only counter was vulcan... which sucks against... *checks list...* literally everything else. Crawler-Mustang-melting point was pretty much unbeatable unless you had shenanigans.
@@huynhphucm445 Vulcans, as seen here, are basically huge firebats. And they're exactly as useful as you'd expect a very large firebat to be. Very good at their job, unlike firebats, but put literally anything else around and they just do nothing. Even something as simple as a sledgehammer (light tank) is enough for them to get stuck on and have them cease to contribute. The fire spray you see is visual only, their AOE is incredibly tiny they just have a high attack speed. If you want a comparison to the reaver, it's the scorpion. Ungodly powerful anti-ground with high damage AND aoe, only mitigated by it's terrible firerate.
Hey grant, small suggestion if you do more of these non-sc games, it's not a big deal but I'd appreciate a link to the game's steam page in the description (or where they can be found if they're not on steam)
I’d love to watch you go on a journey of learning this game, could make for great content! The game gave you scorpions turn 4 on purpose, because they hardcounter the warfactory and it saw you were losing. The game does actually account for whose losing and give units to answer their enemy. Marksmen were definitely the correct choice, though I dislike the choice of position. MVP of game 1 for Davey was your own acid. The crawlers were already dealt with you needed the help elsewhere instead of sabotaging your own army. *Game 2* You overinvested in fangs and rhey’re too far back for the pheonix. Intensive training is fantastic, kinda unnecessary on scorpions since they hit so hard anyway though. Mustangs on the other hand are EXTREMELY upgrade dependent post-nerf. Also, NEVER get missile interceptor mustangs. It has lost me games. Hackers are very binary. They do nothing or they absolutely roll everything, There is NO inbetween.
Two minutes in and the video is already unwatchable. How could Grant NOT choose the Giant specialist when offered? He's so far off brand that he might as well call himself GG Games. I didn't subscribe to Elite Grant Games dang it!
Grant casually targeting his own units with the orbital barrage with sweet obliviousness that it *friendly fires* after witnessing it do that makes me cringe more than the funny compositions
Sadly this game went full price instead of f2p as they promised over a year long. With no explanation at all (they want more money) just as a big FU to new players. So now on launch barely new players will get in and will completly stomped by people from early access. That game will have a player base of less than 1k in a few month. Since its also EA they will jack up the microtransactions. Sad for a promising looking game (basically a spin on autochess).
If you are trying to find stuff to do until your big event thing im down to watch more mechabellum maybe see how far you can get in the survival thing or something

You could have played that better... You could have gone mass crawlers! A strategy that ALWAYS WORKS! THERE IS NO COUNTER! CRAWLERS FOREVER!
My jaw dropped when I saw Davey do a round 3 War Factory. Nobody does that and the Davey went "hehe, I'm gonna do the stupid thing" and he did, and it was absolutely hilarious.
And grant then trying to counter it later with the acid spray, only for it to be sold, making the acid completely useless, made it even better
It's posible to make factory round 2. Hell of a fun tactic!
Personal favorite tactic for me still remains round 1 Vulcan, it's quite fun. Also, early war factory is always fun to pull out
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure Grant's call-downs did almost as much damage to his own units as was done to the enemy.
Not just 'as much' they actively cost him the game. The barrage killed off alot of his balls, otherwise he might have gotten that first factory.
