Jim, how did you get the vibe of these videos down so well? The music. The commercial or anime clips... it's really making me appreciate the production that goes on aside from the actual gleamed hunting.
Dig the -off walkthroughs! definitely gotta start collecting again for SFC and PS2 so, cool to see some of those in the video. man if I wouldn't hit up those stores at least once a week if I lived there though!
You're not alone, I haven't watched anime in a long time because I was burnt out from watching it so I needed a break and I wanted to do some different things like watching the three Robocop movies. I've been thinking about getting back into it again but I have to make sure that I'm in the right mental place to grind through a show.
I love a good pickups video, and yours are always some of the most fun and useful. I've been trying to look for good Japanese imports to snap up for the PS1 and PS2 since, well, I have a working JP Region PS2 (whereas my US one doesn't work anymore), and the retro market prices are crazy here atm. Its a good time to search for Japanese titles then, but unfortunately, I am not super well-versed in the titles available for the PS1. For the PS2? I guess; that was the generation I started importing things, and I have some titles I wanna play like ChainDive so I know to search out for them, but there's so many games for the PS2 and I'm _so open_ to anything that's new (to me) that these videos are awesome resources. Thanks for pumping these out when you can! And oh hey - I actually have Soul Eater Battle Resonance! It is... odd. I don't want to commit to saying its a bad fighting game, because I haven't dug into it _too_ deeply yet, but it just doesn't feel "snappy." It feels kinda... "mushy" - man, I hate describing fighting games, lol. Its definitely one of those games where your button presses sort of get lost in combo animations - the combos and moves are happening, but its not so important when the input was buffered, I guess. It almost feels like a dreaded "dial-a-combo" system. Its less, "Hit a button to punch your opponent" and more, "Hit a button to play a punch animation." What's worse is just that the impacts are lacking; animations "swim into" and through characters more than you'd like (I guess I could just say clipping, but that implies they don't register or cause the damage they're supposed to, but they still do so its still playable), while hit stun animations, hit confirms and whatnot feel soft. The overall fight speed is, perhaps, a tad too slow _(very_ slow, compared to the action in the anime). It's the first game I've seen from "B.B. Studio" though I know they make some licensed stuff for Namco even today, like the new Super Robot Wars and that Gundam Battle Operation: Code Fairy title. Maybe fighting games aren't their thing? Either way, it's kind of a shame because a) Soul Eater is cool and deserves a pretty good fighting game, b) that's not _too much_ to ask because guys like CC2 and Eighting were _cranking out_ quality licensed anime fighters at the time, and c) it kinda looks like a PS2 version of Battle Fantasia, so mentally you just expect it to play better. So yeah, that's just a friendly warning for anyone reading this who may want to give it a purchase. I mean, don't let my impressions _stop_ you, necessarily. I'm just saying to _bring down_ your expectations if you think its going to be a very high quality fighter.
Great video as always persona scramble? i think its known as Persona Strikers in the U.K. Also Cyberpunk was fine for me I managed to finish it and enjoyed it.
I can’t under why DQ heroes I & II for switch didn’t come west. Both games came to PS4 in English so the localization is done. 4:28 Billions Road. A monopoly like game.
I share your taste in gaming. Those Sega Ages and other PS2 games are rad! What a selection. A bit surprised you're not big into the Anime. I love Japan as I'm sure you do but I just can't get into any Anime.
They need to release the expensive fire emblem game for the switch. (Ike one) and windwaker etc. I’ts weird they include characters for smash that are not available unless you want to buy an old console or spend a bunch from a reseller. Nintendo you’ve got the money machine now keep it rolling!

I recognize this Book Off for sure. That bin with SNES games is magical! Just ask Scruffy!
Ha ha you know it brother😉👍👍👍
Those cases are so shiny & look brand new.
I was drooling over the PS2, SNK games.
I always enjoy your music selection , End of small sanctuary is soo good.

Thanks again for teleporting us to Ikebukuro Book Off!

That PS4 Fist of the North Star (Hakuto no Ken) game is amazing, it is sort of Brawler RPG. In the same veins of Yakuza ( Ryu Ga Gotoku )
Thanks Jim!
Such a great episode!!!
I always go to that book off, I found lots of cool stuff there, I stayed at the prince hotel right next door so I would always stop by there

Can't wait to go out to Japan. I'm an arcade operator and plan on buying some machines and ship them to the us and a bunch of videogames lol
God I dream of owning an arcade
If I remember it right I was two times in that book off Shop and bought everytime a bunch of games :D

Whats up Jim!!! Awesome video as always! Never played any Guilty Gear but the series seems pretty cool. Which game would be a good start?
Play Guilty Gear Strive, that’s the latest one.
Wow, I hope somebody picked up that Spiderman (PS4) game on a nice discount because that game is amazing.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure part 1 was Phantom Blood Jim. I really do wish that you would check out One Punch Man and My Hero Academia.
Nice! 👍 Miss the Tokyo streets….i’ve also visited that same Book off.
Whats the price now for used Breath of the wild there?

Seeing ICO and all those other games for $5 is highly upsetting to me :P
