I knew these guys had to listen to Rush! Probably my favorite band for a long time and I saw them on their R40 tour in 2016. Thanks, Crying, for making the proghead and indiehead in me really happy
This set rules but it’s screaming for that guitar to be mixed in stereo. Doesn’t sound nearly as full or do their sound justice with both mics panned to the left.

I hadn't heard about Crying until The Needle Drop's review of Beyond the Fleeting Gales. I'm so glad I discovered them. I'm also really impressed how their sound evolved--how the chiptunes took more of a backseat to guitar and synths. It's not always easy to say "no" to the sound that you started out with.
But the fact of the matter is that Beyond the Fleeting Gales' freaking ROCKS. It hits hard in a way that would have been difficult with more prominent chiptune sounds. I hope they're still making music because they're amazing yet still have SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

Live drums played perfectly with the bass as backing track. Very few musicians like her(Kynwyn Sterling) have this kind of excellent skill and talent.
Sucks that the most interesting parts of the music are all just a backing track. Lost any interest in seeing them live
