(*ps.I opened my channel and uploaded a video of playing this song there.) Hello, I'm the woman in the video.~ When I went on a trip to England, I wanted to play the piano, so I happened to play it, but you came to the side and thought you were the construction manager of the next building. You were a famous UA-camr! I didn't even know the video was uploaded, but it wasn't until 4 months later that my friend asked me if I was right. I found out! It is a mix of Amazing Grace and Arirang, a traditional Korean song. It's not a great performance or a great singing ability, but I wanted to introduce our Arirang further, so I sang it in Korean! I'm happy and grateful to see more good comments.
it was about 3-4 months ago i came across this channel, and found it very enterntaining and joyful to watch. it is truely awesome you found this and you played in it!! love it!
John Newton, an English man, wrote Amazing Grace 350 years ago! Beauty lasts forever. "Greensleeves," a traditional tune played everywhere, was written by King Henry VIII 650 years ago. Beauty has no age, is everlasting. Suzanna played it (Arirang) beautifully, and her singing added personal intimacy of two different worlds through the language of music. Thank you both, Suzanna and Brendan. It touched me. Add to that, an English man who doesn't know Korean, a Korean girl who doesn't know English, and two piano players who had never met playing a seamless beautiful, improvised duet of a 600+ year Korean folk song. Only thru music! It brings tears to my eyes.

Amazing especially since we have such different phonemes in our languages and I’m sure rhythms to go with that. Guess the language of music and math really is international 🥰
Music is one of the very, very few things, that can unite strangers. Country of origin, language, skin color, religion, sexuality, politics - it all becomes quite irrelevant, because Music is something anyone can understand and relate to. And that is a beautiful thing. The only other thing I can think about that can do something remotely similar, is food. But not to to the same extend.
Beautiful video..two humans who don’t speak each other’s language connect through a song..music is a wonderful thing..maybe humanity is not lost yet..big respect to Brendan..he created a piece of magic here..loved it
Absolutely beautiful. I don't understand how people can just walk past without giving a second look, we need to appreciate what is in front of us and enjoy the moment.
When two or more people perform a song together there's some sort of a magic connection that can happen. It doesn't need to be perfect, in fact the piano wasn't even in tune, but anybody watching this could see the FUN meter was at max.
There's something very special about your piano playing. There are many who are technically sound players, but they don't have that extraordinary gift to reach men's souls. You, sir, have that gift. I listened to a handful of your piano videos today, and was moved by all of them ... especially this one...was very moved by this one. Thank you, Brendan ... may God bless you and keep you.
The song is arirang a korean folk song. You dont have to know the language to tear up, know the lyrics and you'll understand how meaningful the song is. Its a beautiful song.
You know, with the amount of soul they put into this, it didn't even matter that the piano was slightly out! Music crosses great boundaries and the fact that Brendan picked up on the similarities between Arirang and Amazing Grace was really intuitive, and the girl playing, I think was equally surprised when it actually fit with the chords she was playing. Well done you two!! I think everyone went away happy here, especially the lady filming the whole thing on her phone with tears running down her face!😍 You're one of a kind Brendan!😁👍
I think the mashup is her idea, as she was definitely playing the melody to Amazing Grace at the start of the video. The Arirang melody has same 5 note scale as Amazing Grace and most of the chords work.
She sang the famous korean song, Arirang,, I never think it was so near from amazing grace... Ah, ok she said that at the end ^^. You are so gilet jaune with your orange jacket ! Thank you again !
John Smith : Yes, on English songs. They have many songs of their own and in their own language. When it comes to music, it does not really matter much if they are copied and sung, so long as the original songs are not passed as the copier’s original song. Does it?
Cynthia Arons, what I mean is they make a new song which sounds strikingly similar in tune and melody (not sure what exactly to call it), then they use different words and pass it off as their own song. I have heard this in Thailand and Vietnam at least. I can try and link an example later if you are interested.
Such a lovely girl and she plays beautifully with you Dr. K ....just a lovely duet for my morning wake up ....it truly sounded like Amazing Grace 🎼🎶🎹😎🤗😘❤🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Ms Jung you did a wonderful performance. Beautiful playing and singing. Not only that, but many young ladies would have been upset or even left the piano when a stranger appeared like he did. You not only held your place you continued playing and proved you are indeed a strong young lady with very good playing and singing skills. Please continue playing and singing and making the world a better place. I really enjoyed your performance.
@Rovert Lang I was really impressed by your rave reviews. I'm not good enough, but thank you very much for your praise and support. With this video, I'm uploading the video to my channel. Could you come and see me?
Ms. Jung, Keep practicing. You will get better every day. I still think you did a great job. I must decline on visiting you, but I will watch for your appearance on future videos.
