Hello, thank you for such a great video. I bought a mustang that had an original rally pac partially installed. In that it was mounted, but not wired. It appears the wiring all behind the dash was done, now it's just connecting everything. I cannot find where to plug the red wire from the tach with the green connector. I have a pink wire with a white connector that runs to the ignition. But there is already a black wire from the ignition that connects to the black wire from the tach. Any thoughts where this red/green wire should go?
Thinking of adding the rally pack on my old Bronco. Any thoughts? Could you tell me the size of the round opening or the size of the mustang steering column. Thanks and great video!
You didn't make clear how to put the cable guard on the steering column. How you supposed to drill a hole up there and also by drilling a hole will you Nick one of the wires coming down the inside of the steering column? If that happened you have one heck of a mess
Hi there can you help me out if you find the time. My restoration is a XY Ford Falcon 1971 Aussie made. Can you tell me the car it is similar or based off when it was made. I am looking for a rack and pinion to install and would like to look at options over in the US. Thanks for your time:).
US racks will all be left hand drive. Unisteer makes a Fairlane left hand drive rack. The Fairlane and XY have a common chassis, just mirrored. RRS in Australia makes a right hand drive rack and pinion for the XY though.
Thanks, forgot about the left hand set up for some weird reason. maybe I assumed they would do a right hand side for an even weirder reason ha ha. Thanks, might contact Unisteer and see they might consider making right hand side for the international market. Cheers!!
We had a 1965 hard top,1966 fast back 289 ci and 1967 fast back 289 ci , I have an original rally pack bought at a shelby (? ) store in L.A. california back in 1966,never used, never installed ...any one interested ?
How about instead of complaining about a zip tie you take that 5 seconds to suggest using a grommet in that hole so the wire doesn't end up shorting out when the sheet metal rub through the insulation? Good video aside from that
Well, the 67 fastback is a 5-speed, the '65 Blue hardtop is a 3-speed floor shift and Jeff's, '64 Falcon is a 3-speed on the column. That gives us about a 50/50 ratio on cars. Automatics made up a significantly larger portion of the American "Big 3" cars were automatics.
Thank you guys this video was very helpful, especially the 10-32 nut, and the courtesy light switch, you saved me a lot of learning curve
Good to see some 4 lug love.

Thanks Jeff. I'm gonna watch this before I head to work, where's Vinnie lately haven't seen him in a while. ..
We miss Vinnie but his new day job has kept him too busy to be able to be on the show. We'll be having him on a show soon.
love your show helps out so much. thanks
These videos are helpful, would like to purchase some of these diy videos on early mustags
No need to purchase! Just watch them here. I don't take them down. Our first video is still up after 10 years!
Will this rally pac connect to the H.E.I. tach wire without problems or be blown up?

If it's an early Bronco, pre 78, then the steering column is basically the same thing as the early Mustang, and you're good to go.
Yet another good vid!!

You are right

That ignition wire just about burned my car down… I have the original rally pack. Really wanted it hooked up but I’m ok
That clock drain the battery? That's lot of clicking
There are mysteries by the truck load on that car. Not sure where the voltage drain is...but it is there.
how many hours does this take to install
Probably around 1 to 2.

Best place to unload that cool piece would be one of the Mustang Facebook groups or eBay! Nice part!
Thank you very much !

That was an odd 6 cylinder, normally the coil id down lower and centered. :)
The original car was to be a six, but it "disappeared" so we had to run a V8 for the install.
Great videos, intros are a bit long
Thanks for the kind words and the critique. We have addressed this in our more recent videos, check them out too!
Why are most of the cars on here autos? Those aren't for driving, they're for steering ;)

I've had many empty cars I'm 64 years old and I'm tired of shifting. I like to be able to drink a Coke while driving. LOL
That was supposed to say antique cars
