  • This video shows you how to take simple wrapping tissue paper, and turn it into transfer paper for photographs. Print your favourite photos on tissue paper and transfer onto wax candles. This creates a beautiful candle that can be personalized for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation, Birthday, Anniversary, any event that you want memorialized in wax. You can also create amazing monogrammed candles. It so easy, and very addictive to do.

      Yes, I did it on the computer. I created a black box frame to fit the height and circumference of my candle, then added my picture to fit within the frame. Print and then trim keeping the frame, then line up on the candle and heat to infuse. I hope this helps and happy candle making.

      Hi there. I used pillar candles , I light them but blow them out before they melt to the edge. I do this so my candles burn down the centre without reaching the transfer paper layer. It really depends on the type is candle you are using. I hope this helps thanks for watching. Btw the LED wax candles turned out great too!

      @suzyrebelo  6 місяців тому

      Hello. I have a Mac computer so I use graphic or pages to create these designs. You can also use Word , I start by creating a box the size of the candle , you can add a border to the box. Then I create text boxes for words or letters or images I want to add (highlight your text box and use the feature “through” or “no wrap” so the text boxes float freely on the page. For layered images and text “ use bring forward or send back to organize text the way you like. Ie if you wanted text over an image. I hope this makes sense and helps. Thanks for watching.

    Thank you for the great video! I have a question.... I have done this with a candle and it looked beautiful when it was done... completely smooth and seemless. Then after it cooled for about a half hour, it ended up drying with wrinkles in it? Almost like little bubbles. Have you ever come across this issue, and if so, any idea what my issue is?

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  7 місяців тому

      Hello, I haven't had that happen. If the bubbles are raised, not adhering to the candle, perhaps allow more time with the heat...so the tissue infuses more into the wax of the candle. I hope this helps.

    The tissue paper is crinkling on my wax candle. When I use a photo, it makes the face unclear, when it is crinkly. Ive used a blow dryer and heat gun to see if it makes a difference. I set the heat gun and hair dryer to medium, so it doesn't melt the candle. Does it matter what side of the tissue paper is printed on.

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  4 місяці тому

      Hi there. The printed or ink side of the tissue paper should be facing out. The backside of tissue paper next to candle. Get an oven mitt to protect your hand and hold the tissue paper taunt , in position, on the candle . Use the blow dryer on hot , a few inches from the candle , and watch as the wax melts …the tissue paper becomes see through , the image should be clear. Allow the candle to cool for a few seconds. Turn the candle around and repeat until the tissue paper is secured on the candle. Try to start from the centre out to the sides. This should help make it smooth and clear. Try not to over heat the candle or you may melt too much wax and it may make the image cloudy looking. Hopes this helps. Let me know if it works for you. Thanks for watching !

      Hello, I really am confused too. If it's printing out messy, perhaps there is too much ink coming out or the paper is dragging through the printer. I'm not sure , but can you can change the printer settings to use less ink? instead of "plain paper best"- try "plain paper draft"? I have no idea if this will work, just a thought. How frustrating for you..i hope it works

      Hi there. So glad you liked this. I have a Mac computer so I just used “pages” it’s like “word” on a pc. Nothing fancy. I measured the candle to figure out it’s dimensions. On the computer , I drew a rectangle , to represent the candle size. I then placed a text box and my photo”copy and paste” into the rectangle. Print, cut and adhere to the candle. There are lots of free fonts you can download for something more specific to your design. Hope this is what you’re looking for. Thanks for watching.

    Will the tissue paper start burning when the the candle reduces slowly??

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi there. Another viewer said the same thing. My candles burned a channel in the middle. It didn’t burn to the edges. Therefore, it depends on the kind of wax, type of wick, burning time , thickness of candle etc.. the only thing I can think of to suggest is , use a test candle to determine how it will burn first. Perhaps you already have one in use. If it burns uniformly, without burning to its edge, then make a note of the brand. Btw, I also did this on wax “led” candles , turned out really nice too. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

      Hi there. I’ve never seen that happen. My candles don’t burn out to the edge, unusually it burns out a channel down the center. I suppose it depends on the wax. Sorry it didn’t work out.

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  11 місяців тому

      It doesn’t melt, it is stuck on the outside layer. I checked my candles and they are thick pillars made of paraffin wax that are clean burning. Sometimes the outside edge gets soft and curves but it doesn’t burn all the way. It could be the thickness of the puller and maybe even how big the wick is too. Sorry. I don’t why it did that.

      @@suzyrebelo You remind me of my Husbands family, they were Sicilian, You have that genuine character. I know youtube creators have heavy competition and the YT censors arent helping, and I TRULY like to hear when someone loves me, but these folks lay it on thick. Actually, i should probably let that go what with our country turning into a combined brain collapse lately, a little cheer hurts no one.So having spewed that, I feel I am in my moms or my MILs kitchen when I watch you. You are truly a special treat that puts me in a different frame of mind.
      my little brother studied his craft in europe and he had his own flair for everything food related. He made stuffed grape leaves for me. From inception to completion the air was glorious smelling. Those grape leaves are $12 a jar now at Specs, but when you open the jar there are so many you could never use them all. He did tho. I loved them the next day stuffed cooked and cold.
      He was a standup comedian seen often on comedy central, he was a 'cook' at Surf Sushi in Big Sur where he would order a pizza to be delivered while at the counter creating a meal. His boss told us, it really made the guy crazy. But Mark was only 27 so...
      He died in a freak surfing accident. At his funeral we had a lot of people grabbing one of us and asking if by chance he left a recipe they loved. Every request was for a different item. It was so funny to hear my sister and mom say 'ME TOO! someone asked for the turkey dressing.
      He made a thanksgiving stuffing that was so rich you couldnt eat much at one sitting, so folks would grab doggie bags, or better yet, they just ;happened" to have a tupperware bowl with them.
      so i was thinking that recipe has stood the test of time, and none of us gave it up. but my mom and sister died recently so its time to share it. I honestly thought about you, i would love for you to try it out. Not important too do a video unless you feel like it. But you may find it more fun to keep it close to the vest. Whatever.
      if kenosha found out theyd be causing an internet backup followed by a few stern words as to WHY I DID THAT.
      My MIL always said it was tradition to hand over your most beloved recipe to someone you admire and respect. It makes you immortal because everytime someone breaks bread with you the recipe and its history are paying homage to that creator
      Thanks so much, we all love you here at BDBQ Reborns!

There are beautiful memories to be made by simply sharing meals. I really value your MIL's tradition of passing on a recipe. Yes, I would like to try making your brother's recipe. I'll be harvesting the wild grape leaves, and preserving in brine, when in season - around late summer. I can make the stuffed leaves then. Now you have me curious on how these taste! Thanks again for you lovely note. Have a great day!
