- Check out the new version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Cinematic World Premiere Trailer, featuring a remix of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Main Theme. The original track is now available in "The Ravens Saga," the second EP of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla soundtrack.
The Assassin's Creed Valhalla main theme is composed by Sarah Schachner and Jesper Kyd featuring Einar Selvik.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla launches on November 17, 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and PC. The game will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X upon the launch of the consoles.

No, Female Eivor is the canon version of Eivor. Male version is Oidin. Odin and Eivor are two different people. Female Eivor is the genetic reicarnation or in other words a female half human half isu clone of Odin the Isu with share memories of him. But, even then she still is not Odin and never will she be Odin. She is Eivor Varinsdottir (Varin-Daugther).
the animation is very obviously made for male Eivor aka the actual protagonist, all they did was swap the models for the characters...

What a lot of people don’t know about vikings, is that they were actually quite progressive when it came to gender equality and that their culture was a unique one at that.

Their views on homosexuality were different from that of followers of Abrahamic religions but still nothing like our idea of tolerance. In viking culture, a man penetrating another man was not seen as a shameful act, rather an act of domination. In some cases warriors would sexually assault a defeated enemy to utterly demasculate and humiliate him. Being the one who was penetrated was seen as utterly shameful. So no, homosexuality, as per our modern understanding, was not accepted.

In the game she uses the exact same skeleton rig and animations that were made for the male protagonist.

Being big and having a strong body is just genetics, and moving like other male warriors fits her story and character as someone who was orphaned at a very young age and was adopted by a viking king. She went through the same training as the men of the clan, it makes sense she moves like a man. When you play as the male form of Eivor you're only putting on what the Animus thinks Eivor looked like (in confusion because of the different DNA she has).

Actually they just fired higher ups that were under flak for forcing male characters (the reason why there was almost 0 promotional content for female Eivor) so it makes sense for them to showoff that that is done

I think a great marketing sale idea would be to sell the game and have the box art as a holographic so it shows both of the characters, Eivor in male and female form. Just a thought for Ubisoft! Looking forward to this one!

Guess what, female Eivor is indeed canon. We know this from a letter in King Alfred's study room which explicitly addresses the character as Eivor Varinsdottir (even if you choose to play her as a male).
The developers said themselves that originally she was supposed to be. But they decided to keep it neutral so that no gender is canon. So as the name is directed to a female, it is probably an error from early development

anandu ap Ac Black Flag wasn’t really an AC game in my opinion. It was 70% pirates and 30% assassins because Edward didn’t become an assassin until near the end of the game. It was all pirates and money. The assassins were just side characters in the background. Plus, people bought the game for the ship battles, not the running around and stealth segments which is what AC was more about. Great pirate game, ok AC game.

Because Evie was her own character, she has a story and not the same person as the male assassin, whilst this one makes you pick a female who isn't really a female because let's be honest a female character that acts, looks, and moves like a male and just put a label just to say is a female is just unappealing.

@@tritonk1759 Well the original plan was to remove the whole RPG Gamestyle and use the male Character as Eret Varinsson. But then Odyssey made a Huge success and Alexios/Kassandra quickly became fan-favorites and the heads at Ubi wanted to try the whole RPG Gameplay again. So they got a last minute Voice Actress and changed the Dialogue slightly which is why sometimes male Eivor is referred to as she and Sigurd calls Eivor no matter if your playing with fem or Male brother in Oxenaford when he introduces Eivor to the guy who’s in charge and some other dialogue flaws

Pretty clear if you actually play the game that the character meant was female and then they added the male so the fans won't get pissy. So much better voice acting. Not to mention that Eivor is a female name. Choosing male will be weird especially for people in Scandinavian countries. Assassin's Creed has male protagonists because men sell better in these roles, they fit better in these roles and are more badass than females. It's simple as that.
It's not a downplaying of anyone, it's just a business decision.
You know, Ubisoft is a corporation, and the corporation is supposed to make as much money as possible.

Also, for those complaining that this was lazy. I disagree. She's the female version for the main character and this just shows shes equal to him. Much better to do this than have some video of her making food or crafting, only for people to draw comparisons up and say it is sexist! I like the anything he can do she can do too thing. ANd of course she would have wider shoulders as one is used from modern day females....not many modern day females train to fight all kinds of people with all kinds of weaponry and wear armor but if they do you can see it.

Yeah, it's kinda lazy. But it still works in my opinion. I don't think it's nearly as bad as it could have been, plus the body type kinda works given that it's pretty much obscured by the giant fur coat and armor.
The shot and crescendo of ezios theme as Odin turned into a raven will always have a special place for me ❤❤ I’m of Irish Scottish Cornish and Germanic Scandinavian (Germany and Sweden) descent so this particular assassins creed was very special to this pagan girl ❤❤ oh and Odin is actually pronounced Oh-th like the beginning of “the” and then in ✨✨
Óðinn's name is pronounced with the Ð sound in Old Norse, however, this trailer is in English, where his name is anglicized to include a hard D sound

It’s not that female leads don’t sell. Ubisoft is marketing this game in particular to have male Eivor as the main character. If they had chosen to put this trailer out first rather than male Eivor. And have female Eivor on the cover instead. Then the reaction would be much different.

@JB JG No, I do like the female voice but the line itself sounded very bleak compared to the one in the first trailer (which gave me goosebumps actually) it was the matter of how poorly the line was delivered which made it underwhelming.

I am not sure why people are hating on the game in both story and style, but I for one am excited to see how this pans out. People based on odyssey because there was no actual hidden blade in a sense. But they ended up loving it for the most part. I feel this title will be no different....depending on Ubisofts execution of this tactic. All hail the vikings!

Wait what? People are complaining about this version of Eivor? I thought she looked gorgeous and I'm a dude. I honestly wasn't that interested in the game until I found out I could play as a female viking warrior. Have never raced to my local EB Games so fast.
