Fantastic stuff. These folks have brought the energy, color, love, fun and good stuff to audiences and music fiends since I was a a tween! And props to Kate for doing that killer vocal bit here just as it was in 1978. Damn fine performance. I have an affinity for this band that I don't have for others. There's something extraordinary in these super people and in the sonic magic they create. Thanks very much for sharing this footage.
I saw them perform Rock Lobster on SNL when I was a kid back in the 70s and I thought it was the weirdest yet coolest thing I ever saw. They helped form my musical taste from then on and becoming a musician down the road.
Just checked and OMG They're not! This needs to be rectified. They were so influencial. Even John Lennon was inspired by them. He said that they were partially responsible for him coming out of retirement.
Kate Pierson was born in 1948, so she is 75 years old now. Vocals still hitting the high notes. Fred Schneider was born in 1951, now 72 years old. Cindy Wilson is a youngster born in 1957 only 66 years old.
I was in highschool late 80s..me and a few friends went to a school dance..we were bored..we got them to play rock lobster..and we all got in the middle of danceflloor and flopped around on the floor while the song played..like lobsters haah...we got kicked out..WORTH IT !
Thanks for the fantastic music, this band is simply wonderful & there's nothing like them , what a breath of fresh air, now it's time to watch , plan 9 from outer space. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
I saw them live at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ on June 17 of this year. I waited over forty years to see them. They sounded so good it was as if listening to their recordings! Thank you B-52s!
That would of been a great show to see, there will never be a line up like that again. I always wanted to see the talking heads, but all know that will never happen.
One of the best concerts I've ever seen so good to see one of my favorite bands that I grew up with at the end of the 70's , now if we could only get DEVO to do a full Canadian tour
They still alive and kicking and swinging ! one of the most underrated bands EVER , there soooo good if you give it a chanse ;-) BTW thanks for posting
They were my very first concert at age 15. Mind was blown n all original 5 members playing, no backup band. I’m 55 now n one of my all time favorite bands.
Would Love to see them Live. But last time I checked I would of had to take out a loan. Funny thing many many moons ago I could of seen them in Buffalo for free. Still regret not going ☹️
I remember seeing the clip for "Rock Lobster" when I was seven, and wondering why I had never been introduced to these aunties and uncles that I was related to.
I was there that night with my sister! This band is great! We even got a seat upgrade on the balcony to dance better on the floor. I almost got to meet this band with my VIP, too bad it was cancelled. Got a free shirt though.
This just makes me glad and sad at the same time, knowing full well that we're now all old, fat and slow without the same energy we had when this first came out. 😐
“Planet Claire has pink air, all the trees are red, no one ever dies there, no one has a head” They were ahead of their time. Sounds just like all the planets we’ve now discovered and all the aliens our government is now in contact with.
Yeah, it's really off putting when you're trying to concentrate as the main attraction in an Amsterdam live sex show and someone in the audience keeps doing that.
I first heard this song in 1979 too. It was at the Free Spirit Club in OKC. My soon to be friend Michael L. introduced himself and filled me in on the band. Planet Claire is a favorite too. I saw them live back in the late 80's in San Francisco..they were great and Very Loud ! i'm still rocking to the B52's @ 68
You dont know how blessed and thrilled i was to see them in Boston last September! One amazing live band with great songs!! Kate had on that lovely sequin dress at that show.
I remember watching them on Saturday night live in the late seventies. Saw them in 2006 in Fort Collins. Nice to see they are still going strong, and still sound just the same as they did way back. Awesome!
Saw them in Houston twice back in the late 70s early 80s. One show was opened by The Plastics from Japan - both bands were amazing. The other show was opened by Houston cult faves - The Judys. Similar to Fred using the walkie talkie, the Judys had a small black and white TV set making white noise. They would lift it up to the mic to get the sound. Wonderful show.
I first heard this on a 45 rpm record at age 17 in 1979...I am now 61. It's still as bizarre now as it was back then.
Bah, moi j'avais 16 ans et j'adore
I relistened to the song the other day and was surprised at how weird it still sounds. “But she isn’t!” Ha!
@@charold3 dammit...I am 61....great song
checking in, i was 16 ...
Me too LOL
This band ROCKS !!!!!!!! - I'm 60 and still love them to bit's.
I’m 60 too,.. thanks for reminding me,….
bit’s??

Cool
Still radical, still freaking people out. Long live the B52’s!
Are the B52s in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? They definitely should be. I'm gonna check right now.
Just checked and OMG They're not! This needs to be rectified. They were so influencial. Even John Lennon was inspired by them. He said that they were partially responsible for him coming out of retirement.
Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a pathetic joke. No B52s, Devo, Cramps, and I’m pretty sure even Iron Maiden!
@@ahole1362 Yes apparently playing Rock N Roll is no longer a requirement for inclusion
@@ahole1362 Weller, Oasis, OCS, Pennywise, Bad Religion... The list is LONG!
@teckertime - Right? Good call on Paul Weller!
Kate Pierson was born in 1948, so she is 75 years old now.

Fred Schneider was born in 1951, now 72 years old.

It’s nice to know there are people older than I am… 72.
Kate looks damn good for her age.

Oh, that backdrop from "Mars Attacks".....one of my all time favorite movies.....one of my all time favorite bands!!!!
they are a huge part of my life growing up in high school, still my favorite band ever
That vocal theramin is amazing!
Still as strange and wonderful as the first time I heard it! Still love it 😊
Thanks for the fantastic music, this band is simply wonderful & there's nothing like them , what a breath of fresh air, now it's time to watch , plan 9 from outer space. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
Kate still has pipes! Amazing!
I saw them live at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ on June 17 of this year. I waited over forty years to see them. They sounded so good it was as if listening to their recordings! Thank you B-52s!
Geriatric B52's put a smile on my face.
Us Festival 1982 we had been up for 3 days "working" and they come out followed by the Talking Heads and The Police.... Yeah, I levitated...
That would of been a great show to see, there will never be a line up like that again. I always wanted to see the talking heads, but all know that will never happen.
Waaaaaitaminit... Is that the bass player from The Waitresses backing them up?
Please let that be so
Yes it is
One of the best concerts I've ever seen so good to see one of my favorite bands that I grew up with at the end of the 70's , now if we could only get DEVO to do a full Canadian tour
This talented group is so much fun I wished they could all live forever to keep us entertained on a very different level.😁
They still alive and kicking and swinging ! one of the most underrated bands EVER , there soooo good if you give it a chanse ;-) BTW thanks for posting
Im supprised their still gigging, and very glad they are too, brilliant band 👍.
There 1st 5 albums are fantastic.
Whoa. That was painful to read.
OMG. Still My punkich Best group of the 80's and they still got it. I AM 63 now, i was in MIAMI watch them at My 22 year old. Love them....
They were my very first concert at age 15. Mind was blown n all original 5 members playing, no backup band. I’m 55 now n one of my all time favorite bands.
Great band, great quality video! Why isn’t this band in the HoF?
I can’t get enough of this band.
Loooong time fan. 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
you do realize that the B52's time travel mission has been completed... so now it's just plural .... B52s
Would Love to see them Live. But last time I checked I would of had to take out a loan. Funny thing many many moons ago I could of seen them in Buffalo for free. Still regret not going ☹️
Athens, Ga for free also.
Longevity. Master songwriters, musicians & stage entertainers.
God bless the B52's
Still hits those vocals like a tuning fork.
I met the b-52's in a record shop in London Kate was lovely I was too dumbfounded to say much
You did better than I would have.
If met Kate Pierson, there would be no words, just fainting before melting
One of the best things to come out of the States. You don’t get everything right-but you get your music right!
Only voices don't change....great band ! 👍
Remembering the late 70's when these guys were considered really weird😮...wonderfully weird.
LOL I was one of them that considered them weird. didn't take long to think otherwise however.
I remember seeing the clip for "Rock Lobster" when I was seven, and wondering why I had never been introduced to these aunties and uncles that I was related to.
Saw them at the Fox Theater in Detroit in 1979 or 80
kate pierson, la mejor!!!
If you don't love and 'get ' Devo and the B52'S , you don't have a sense of humour .End of .
I was there that night with my sister! This band is great! We even got a seat upgrade on the balcony to dance better on the floor. I almost got to meet this band with my VIP, too bad it was cancelled. Got a free shirt though.
My daughter Claire loves this song. :)
Did you Planet that way? 😀
Vermutlich das beste Lied der Welt
Fred Schneider is 72yrs old now. Nothing better came along. So he carries on, as is his wont. Dare to be better, or just go with the flow, and dance.
It's a "party town" Athens GA
Area B-51......
Cindy is iconic.. doesn't get enough credit.
I saw them back in the day think it was 79 or 80 something. I was 20 great show. Shitfaced and rowdy from what I recall.
You AND the band, I hope! 👍
Love her beautiful voice
Not anymore
I wonder if Fred's beep machine is the original one from the 1978 music video
Do they ever age😊 ❤
B-52's don't just put on a show... they put on a PARTY!... Good times!
Los maravillosos B 52 s !! Una leyenda viviente del rock !!! Un verdadero clásico de clásicos !!
Good to see them all back on stage, I love the drummer so professional.

The drummer, Sterling Campbell is AMAZING!!! He played with Bowie...
With all of these UAPs and UFOs being mentioned in the news today, this tune seems very appropriate for the times!
Outstanding! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Like it. It's like a trip without the acid ✌️💫✨✨💫💥🌟🌟✨✨💫💫💫💫💫🪐🪐🪐⭐🌑🌒🌑🪐
Hate it when someone in the audience keeps going ‘woo’
Yeah, it's really off putting when you're trying to concentrate as the main attraction in an Amsterdam live sex show and someone in the audience keeps doing that.
My fantasy concert would be: Devo, B-52s, Blondie, The Pretenders & The Police
BRAVO... BRAVISIMO.... ESO ES.... VAMOS SOY EL UNICO QUÉ COMENTA EN CASTELLANO...

I'm happy to see they're still out there performing. Huzzah.
Love the choreography
Late seventies; I saw them in Paradiso or Melkweg in Amsterdam :)

Tempo on this song should be faster; like the original is.
Love the visuals of the flying saucers.

Saw them in 1982 at the Palladium in Los Angeles with the GoGos. Something I will never forget. A completely packed dance party!
