Back in the early 90s, a woman passed by me at a conference and smelled so wonderful I chased her down 3 escalators to find out what she was wearing. At that time I was young and very shy about such things so that tells you how captivated I was by the scent. You guessed it. She was wearing Amarige. Love that you are featuring “vintage” 🥴 scents from when I was young. My all time favorite of the period is Gem by Van Cleef and Arpels. It is discontinued and prohibitively expensive if you can find it. I have a sample vial that I use sparingly from time to time. Love your channel. ❤️
Amarige is my absolute favourite! I remember smelling it on someone when I was a child and falling in love with the scent. At that time I didn't know what it was but when I came across it years later I had to get it. It's one of those fragrances that gets you compliments and questions about what you're wearing.
Amarige is amazing! There’s a review on Fragrantica that calls it the original ‘Flowerbomb’ and I agree. It’s a sweet, musky floral that smells incredible even all these years later. Dominque Ropion is a master perfumer that can do no wrong. He’s done so, so many of what we know. The Frederic Malles you mentioned, La vie est Belle, Alien, Azzaro Wanted Girl, Safari, L’interdit, Jungle l’elephant, Burberry London, Euphoria Lalique le Parfum...and so many more.
One of my all time faves! I just spritzed a tiny bit. I'm running out... It's such a unique fragrance. When I was a young teen, like 13-14, back in the 90s, there was a Revlon perfume called, "Wild heart" and it smelled similar to Amarige. So whenever I put on Amarige I'm taken to the luscious, sun drenched garden of delights that *is* Amarige itself AND being 13-14 in the early 90s. Perfume evokes memories stronger than any other thing outside of a time machine, doesn't it?
OMG, Erline that was my signature scent during 90’s, and I used to wear it when I met my husband and got engaged, lovely memories are back. Thanks a lot
This was my first love, the one that got me into the world of perfumes! I got the exact same tester you’ve got there when I was 13 years old maybe. I didn’t like it then. At 18 I tried it on a paper and forgot it on my desk, it was too strong. But later that day I smelled something beautiful in my room and found it. From that moment I was amazed by it, I loved it!! Thank you for this review ☺️
It was my very first parfume in my teenages and now after 30 yrs I bought it again and I still love to smell it and watch the bottle which is so memorable for me.
I remember this well, was repurchased many times, my late sister also loved this. I currently have vintage organza & organza indecence which my favourite. 💕
This is a timeless elegant scent and the fact that nothing like it is in the market is a major plus. The perfume industry these days is reaching into the most bizarre of places to establish a new scent as unique (sorry but soil, dust, or penicillin notes do not do much for my nose or imagination). Amarige claimed its mark and still remains fantastically modern, etherial, creamy, and a sexy yet classy perfume! If you are not a nostalgic person, just sniff Amarige, it will make you one.
I love Amarige and organza both. Organza smells better in cold weather, the nutmeg makes it impossible to wear in heat. Amarige is suitable all year round, but I like it more in summer.
My grandmother wore this perfume and she smelled so lovely all the time! Not just because she was my grandma. Well i say was because she passed but i brought a bottle and will keep buying bottles just to have those sweet memories with me! 🥰 Thanks 🙏🏽
I first found this maybe 20 + years ago and have loved it all the way. It was kinda my signature smell that people I grew up with knew when they smelled that fragrance, I was close by. It's hard to find a smell that is both great and you can own it in your group of people and nobody dares to wear it. I find when people love a smell every goes heavy in it and then it's an individual smell now. So if you find a smell that people tend to compliment you and single you out, own it. It's a good thing to be remembered by a great smell 😌
I'm in my late forties and I went through a bottle or two of this in my twenties. It's been years since I've worn it but I remember it vividly. A glorious white floral 😍. Really loving these videos!
Amarige and Organza are two of my favourite fragrances of all time! I wore them constantly in my 20s and always received compliments. I find that Amarige smells the best in the dry down. You are right, nothing smells similar. Very unique and lovely! This was my husband’s favourite fragrance on me when I wore it in my 20s. I like both Organza and Amarige equally. They are both so different.
I used to be a counter manager for a Givenchy back in the early 2000s, Amarige wasn’t on my radar back then, I loved Organza and the Organza flanker Indecence. I need to revisit Amarige. My scent of the day is a Joop Le Bain. Great video.
Omg this was one of my favorite scents when I was a teenager, along with Burberry brit and lancome tresor. I'm thinking about buying this scent again, it's a wonderful classic. For the newer perfumes most of them that I'm smelling aren't wowing me.
i wore organza when i was 16/17 and wanted to repurchase but never got round to it. i've forgotten how it smells but i know i loved it. i'm now in my early 20s and will repurchase if i ever see it around.
So fun to hear about these older perfumes. Haven’t smelled either one, but would love to. Ropion makes some fantastic perfumes, that’s for sure. SOTD is Xerjoff Dolce Amalfi.
This used to be my mom’s favorite scents on her dresser so brings back memories for me. This and the first along with some Chanels. She rarely wears perfumes anymore because of migraine triggers.
Amarige, Amarige, wowww the woman who wears it has to be a confident one. For me it is a loud perfume. When you go somewhere it is shouting " I am here". I love it. This is my all time favorite , number one perfume. After this one is Giorgio from Beverly hills.
Aww.. This bringes sooo many sweet memories for me💕☀️😀 i was in My early 20 and I was using this perfume when ever we Girls went out in the weekends to party😄 i Loved it back then, it was such a warm elegant scent, back then noone had so many perfumes as we have today.. Yeah, now i am so exited,. I love when you go "vintage " ps:i did try Organza as well, but to me it was not Good, honesty i didnt like it😉
Amarige is what turned me on to white florals. Didn't care much for them before, but now because of it, I love white florals. I have a vintage bottle. I also have new and vintage of the Organza and Organza Indecence and Hot Couture ones. I like Indecence more than plain Organza. It's like cozy creamy custard with cinnamon, great for fall. I like all of them though!
Such a stunning perfume !! Classy and feminine. I have a little 30ml and have wanted a big bottle for years. I think I'll get onto it pronto. Love your reviews Arlene.
My signature from day one. I can't guess how many bottles of Amirage I've purchased or how many compliments I've received. I love it. I don't know what I would do if they stopped making it...... ♥️
You nailed it when you said they don’t make perfumes like Amarige anymore! It’s lovely but when I wear it I tend to feel like it’s wearing me, if that makes sense. However, I much prefer it to Organza as I’m not a big vanilla lover.

I have both of those scents, but haven't wore them too much lately. I am going to have to try both of them and let you know which one I prefer on me. Great video!
I’ve always wondered about this perfume ! I remember organza was beautiful on my aunt but it’s not for me, probably because it was her signature for years and I got tired of it. SOTD Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle. I’ve been slowing falling down the vintage perfume rabbit hole on eBay. Lol. Just received a 1996 Christian Dior Dune parfum and it’s a POWERHOUSE! And stunning. I used to own it back then and wanted to remember what it was like.

@@DeliciousDelights I’ve suddenly fallen in LOVE with oakmoss! The only way to get true oakmoss anymore is in old bottles. Poor things. Sitting in closets and the backs of dressers. I feel its my duty to wear that trapped juice! LOL
This is an amazing perfume. I am wearing today rose gourmand from zara. 15.95 euros and female version. I have seen lot of videos where they say that is a roses vanille dupe...fldefinitively you need to try that one 😘😘👍👍👍
I had a small sample of this back in the day, but why do I remember it like a perfume with strong character, with strong hints of cigarette smell? I never thought of this perfume as delicate or soft or romantic... I'm curious to smell it again to see if it smells different to me now.
I hazard a guess that you may have experienced Amarige on a woman who actually smoked. The powerhouse perfumes are the ones smokers tend to chose to cover the cigarette odour !
I love this video. Thanks. By the way, Arlene, I also watch 1bike1world channel which is about a man named Dean cycling around the world. He found a kitten on his journey. He named her Nala and now they travel together and they’re heading to Amsterdam. Just sharing. Thanks.
Smelling Amarige uplifts my mood and makes me feel happy and SEXY , BUT smelling it on my self, gives me headache and upsets my stomach. I wish to have it but can’t! Any suggestion please please please ?? Thank you.
Told you so ;) Try Champagne next if you can get your hands on it, it was rebranded as Yvress, by Yves Saint Laurent. If you can find that now rare sample it will blow your mind. These days its all the same really, nothing unique. Also look for Venezia, by Laura Biaggiotti.
@@DeliciousDelights Lucky lucky you. Brace yourself, they are power perfumes, real best modes. But ohhh the class... the finesse, the uniqueness.... There´s really nothing like them these days. @@BretzelMedusa Looking forward to trying them...I've had these samples for like a year now but only now have started discovering them. Hugs from Holland :D
I did try the Amarige back in 1991, and 203. I always love the smell. It’s more like Sophisticated type of perfume. Out on wedding day! Special events. Out on a special date! Graduations! On a cruise! 🚢 Business dinner! Also Organza is a good one

Every single time I wear this without fail a stranger will come ask me what it is so they can buy it for their girlfriend or wife.
Bloody hell they put the entire garden in there !!
Lol they sure did!
Hubby loves this one on me. Very romantic and sexy too! :)
I did try the Amarige back in 1991, and 203. I always love the smell. It’s more like Sophisticated type of perfume. Out on wedding day! Special events. Out on a special date! Graduations! On a cruise! 🚢 Business dinner! Also Organza is a good one
