Wow 125 is wide open for whoever has the best day at NCAA's! This is the type of thing that makes wrestling so great, on any given day anything can happen and it's all on you. Can't blame the offense, deffense, or a team mate, but when you win you also claim all the glory for yourself.
People forget Peterson is good he almost AA’d last year way better than a normal 9 seed 125 is just wild this year

Spencer Lee was a TRUE #1 at 125. Just had tuff luck. He was the #1 in 2021.

He admitted to specifically creating a strategy to defeat Lee. Diary entries and all. There’s a video about his win. Lee is in it too which is lowkey kinda tough. Either ways he trained specifically for that fight thus giving him the mindset that he could win. See how he did with glory in the finals. Where was the intense attempts to shoot?? There wasn’t as much intensity in desperation to win because glory wasn’t seen as dominant as Lee. Ramos believed he could just out scramble glory since he wasnt sure on how to get an attack on glory since it was their first matchup. So those mindsets make a difference. Basically it was a 50/50 fluke cuz he trained specifically for Lee but not to win it all. Im all for underdogs having a Cinderella story, but he’s been too inconsistent.

Wow 7th last year to the semis this year. Only got ranked 20th. This is why wrestling matters and rankings don’t.
You forget the mention that 125 this year has been anyone's weight to win.
Also you forget the mention Peterson was ranked 2nd in the country for a while this season.
