Its been 11 years since Thorpe got something decent and its so good to have this coming.
As someone who has ridden backwards on DC Rivals, I believe Hyperia needs a backwards row. DC Rivals backwards is not just a ride, it is an experience that everyone should get to do at least once in their lives. Still one of my favourite memories.
That outer-banked twist, leading to that stall, diveloop combo before the launch looks so fire! Those elements alone make it a must visit for me.

I’m really looking forward to this. It’s a big thing for the U.K. considering various councils suck the fun out of almost everything they can!
I watched the council meetings for this and there were so many people who tried to stop the project.

I reckon hyperia brave it backwards has a nice ring to it considering that was the tagline they had for swarms backwards seats
The name is growing on me as I originally thought they were going more Egyptian due to the project name. I am glad they are going a lot lighter in theming and also something that isn't an existing IP. The logo is really cool. Nice, clean stylization of wings. Hopefully there is onboard audio with the promo soundtrack or something similar. Though I would also like the ride to be a touch longer, it's definitely going to pack a punch and I will endeavor to cross the Pond to go ride.

I am from the UK myself and I cannot wait to go on nice quiet days and lap the heck out of Hyperia. Us in the UK really don't have a great Airtime Machine our best Airtime is on Grand National

I knew the drop was going to be nuts, but the shaping on that thing looks RIDICULOUS
If it's going to be like DC Rivals, I'll be hyped. DC Rivals is still on my top-3. It just is the kind of rollercoaster that I want. The focus on layout, and the free feeling of the seats and the focus on airtime and fast twisty maneuvers that transition very well. It feels like flying through the air.
I didn’t realise before that this was going to be such a big coaster! I can’t believe I’m only 30 mins away from potentially one of the best coasters in Europe!
This ride is garenteed to be an absolute knock out. The first drop combined with the glassy smoothness will be glorious. Going on one of these backwards is just one of those next level experiences, so it's a shame that'll be absent. Also it would have been nice to have a few more air time hills, as all those bunny hills at the end of DCR really makes the ride for me. Still will be awesome of course. I'm really happy for our UK mates to have this in their backyard!
by the way, it doesnt have a launch, they are trim brakes for the smaller hills after

I can't wait to ride Hyperia. I'll be honest, I'm not sure if I like the name but I think the ride experience will be amazing. We're really missing a ride of this scale here in the UK and I love Mack personally so cannot wait. Looks from the POV to have a lot of unique elements and sensations too which I love. Hopefully it will have a backwards seat as that's something I'd love to experience but either way I think it'll be an exceptional ride and really fill a gap in the UK coaster lineup. And to have this only a few hours away from me will be really cool.

I love the soundtrack and cannot stop listening to it, hoping this will be featured on the ride itself while speeding around. Love the layout, yes it does look a bit short, but is it short for a reason due to a lot of intensity? I think that is why it could be? But going to be an amazing addition here in the UK & all I can say is bring on 2024 season to see this coaster circling circuit. Gonna be epic. 😀👍
It’s really funny how Americans are complaining about Hyperia being similar to Hyperion: 2 different rides in entirely different counties and 99% of park visitors won’t know about the other. meanwhile almost every American six flags park has a Batman or Goliath

You say it's the Americans are complaining but I've seen more British complaining and only 1 American complaining. In my opinion I think they could have come up with a better name. But love the soundtrack and logo.

2024 = Insane Year for the UK
Thorpe is my local park and I'll be there day 1 to ride this. I'm a member of the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain so might even get lucky and get preview ERS on it.
Hey Taylor and Sarah, so im really lucky to live in England myself and i have covered Project Exodus/Hyperia updates from both monks walk and in Thorpe Park Resort itself, currently my number 1 favourite coaster is Ride to Happiness at Plopsaland de Panne but with Hyperia there is no contest now for me, I've yet to visit Poland and Energylandia as well as Holland and Walibi Holland, i reckon for me rmc coasters either Zadra or Untamed could be contenders for favourites over Hyperia, what do you 2 think?

1:55 I wish it was a boost, sadly its a big trim break because its a shorter ride then we wanted, think it will still be very good though.
I do wish they scrapped the trim for a slightly longer layout, maybe a really vast low to the ground fast transitions like hyperion

Hyperia will be one of the most compact hyper coasters out there from Mack Rides. I’m not really sure which US park will get the first Mack Hypercoaster model.
as this ride is made by mack i LOVE the possibility of a spinning carriage, this would be im fairly sure the tallest spinning coaster if they did that

My home park having the most anticipated coaster of the year is amazing. Trouble with TP is they have not always delivered in the past. Saw, DB Ghost Train and Colossus never lived upto the expectations.
As much as it would be cool I think a backwards seat is unlikely as Thorpe confirmed a while back that the back row will be the disability access row. Also, surprised you didn't mention it but the music on the video is a snippet of the ride's soundtrack.
Did they confirm that? Most new coasters at merlin parks just join up the rap and main queues together in the station

@@Yonel6969 Can't remember where but they certainly stated that somewhere. And yes most new Merlin coasters now merge ambulant RAP before the gates, but wheelchairs still load separately. So the back row on Hyperia will most likely be reserved for wheelchair guests. Wicker Man at Towers does that, for example, as does Smiler.
The back row will have bigger seats, rather than specifically the disability access row. Most RAP users can sit anywhere on the train. They may load non ambulant riders to the back row anyway though

What the plans originally reminded me of was Steel Curtain--a "hyper" with a relatively compact, twisted layout and inversions. But S&S isn't doing this one.
For aviation it just needs to have a flashing light, color specified by law, at the peak. On airport premises you find obstacles to be colored red and white.

Seriously, though, the insane compactness of the layout reminds me of SFGAm's Goliath. But where Goliath can feel like it should be taking another lap around the circuit, these elements look intense enough that Hyperia will feel like a complete experience. Very excited for everyone who gets to ride next year!

I'm used to you covering new coasters all over the world and never anything anywhere near me
I hope with it being a Mack that after the initial couple of years they have the opportunity to vary the experience have the 3trains all be different, keep one train as standard one train having backwards facing seats and another train be a mack extreme spin er.
It would be cool but being an upcharge a lot of people won't want to pay for it and I don't blame them, it's something you might do once and then not again.
Icon at BPB (well, Enzo) dispatches 90% of the time with those seats empty.
I’m coming in 2025, though I was 2024 but not like it’s going anywhere. Looks awesome. I’ve done DC Rivals, don’t know which would be better but DC is a 10/10 for me so I’m sure I’ll really like this.
We UK enthusiasts have basically assumed it’s gonna be Egyptian themed, like colossus, due to them being next to each other and the name/slogan.

Thorpe Park and the rest of the theme parks south of the UK have to up their game as the Belgium and Dutch parks realise there is a market missing for quality parks in the UK as a result efteling have buses patrolling round London

OK, Hyperia..... Well, I don't hate it, but it's certainly not what I expected. I was certain it was going to be Icarus. But still, I like the 1920's style of the logo and text. And seeing as TP is only a 45 minute drive from me, I'll be there as soon as this new Mack beast opens!
"Angel's flight" would have been a great name, but like Exodus it also has religious connotations.
Pretty sure that's a trim brake rather than a launch/boost, like an artificial splash-down element

Unfortunately it's unlikely that the back row will face backwards as Thorpe have already stated that the back row will be designated for Ride Acess Pass guests.
they said back row will be more suitable for them, others can still sit there :) and if they add a backwards seat it’ll be an extension to the train so that won’t affect anything. If it does happen it won’t be till 2025 anyway
