This is very hard to watch but who agrees Shelley and ian did amazing job with this storyline
You know you're an excellent actor when every fan absolutely *hates* your character. The actor who plays Geoff is so good at being horrible.
This storyline makes me well up every time they're on screen. I'm glad Corrie is covering coercive control, and they're fantastic actors 👏👏👏
maria smay Ian Bartholemew even admits he really dislikes his character. He has to go to some dark places to get the full extent of his character across but I agree the storyline is really well done
They have done an amazing job of highlighting this issue 👏
FINALLY!!!! Someone who actually understands this programme!!! It's been on for nearly 60 years after all!!! :)
Alan Bradley did just as bad back in the late 80s too in his torment of Rita, and Stan Ogden back in the 60s as the wife beater and womaniser.
If Coronation Street "only" showed people sitting around, drinking tea, smelling the roses and talking about how "great life is", that would be so dull and unrealistic that no-one would watch!
People need to wake up and stop thinking Coronation Street should be set in a world where everyone loves everyone, domestic abuse doesn't exist and the Manchester Bombings did not happen!
WELL SAID!!! Ian Bartholomew is indeed an excellent actor... Shelley too.
I mean, the way some viewers react, you'd think that the people in the show weren't acting and actually "doing it". Their attitudes seem to suggest they think Geoff really is a domestic abuser, rather than simply an actor playing one.

*Thank you* is all I can say. I've gotten *a lot* of hate and even some not so nice threats about when I'm talking about an actor being *so good* at being a "horrible character".
Soap operas and dramas in general NEED a bad guy, a villain, someone to hate, otherwise they wouldn't be called "dramas".
@maria smay I saw some comments on Facebook forums saying "what have they done to Geoff? He was okay as a hospital radio DJ". A person''s occupation is of no relevance to whether they are a domestic abuser or not! Laugh, I bloody did!!! :D
Yasmeen deserves a man who really cares for her and loves her and treats her to nice stuff.
