We did the basics on all this in school then personally went on to read into it all more myself. I'm 50. I'm sure your schooling touched on it all. School teaches you a few tid bits but ore importantly, it teaches you how to go teach yourself even more. We all learned how libraries work, how to find more info.

No one ever finishes the story of Burke and Wills. There was an Irishman with them who actually completed that journey and made it back to Melbourne, and was the first man to traverse the country from south to north and back again. That man was John King.

    Rules for emigrating to Australia:
    1) Bring interesting food
    2) We dont give a crap about your religion, keep it to yourself
    3) your kids are gonna be 100% Aussie, so the quicker you adapt the better.
    Simple.

For anyone wondering about "Batmania", yes it's true, and the guy's name was actually "Batman". There's actually a place in Melbourne still called Batman, and it's always funny after election time when you see billboards exclaiming "Thankyou Batman!".

The eureka stockade had a much earlier influence and wasn’t a start…..it was a continuation of the uprisings in Ireland. It as part of the unfinished revolution. The next uprising after 1798.,Peter lalor was a legend…..and the lawyer who defended the rebels at eureka had done intensive work to make sure the rebels survived. The history in Ireland and the family trees show the connections. It was a brilliant plan, executed perfectly.

People claiming not to have been taught things about thier history at school have both a very short memory and are admitying to how lazy they are.
We were all taught introductory small pieces of history and had been taught how to use libraries and how to do searches and research. From quite early on in primary school.
We cant just wait to be spoon fed information. If you have an interest in things, anything, you can go to a library and read about it. In the modern day you can google a lot of info.
Some people werent interested at all as kids and get out and find out about history as adults.
The info has always been there.
The only way people make documentaries and new books today is using existing info contained in other books and libraries.
For every part, topic, people and angle of history. Its all been there for anyone alive today throughout thier life times.

Rise up in revolution or rise up to your full potential?
I strongly believe more should be done within our own communities to rise to our full potential. Stop being pawns in a political game. Stop being treated like children that require assistance all the time. We are no different to any other group of people around the world. We live today amd have every advantage at our finger tips. We need to look inward and build our own lives and move forward as proud people accomplishing our own destiny with our own achievements. We don't need agencies, political parties using is to score Brownie points. We aren't a talking point of virtue signalling white people. We are capable and strong modern people and should be showing this to the world. Not looking for handouts and sympathy and the easy way out.

Veterans of the American Revolution? A 16 year old in 1783 would have been at least 88 and likely 89 in December of 1854.

He makes a lot of strange statements. Not only in this but all of his documentaries.
Another that made me laugh was to do with revolutions along the lines of "the unique thing in Australia was those that lead the revolt became the leaders and mps". That's the story of revolution all through history all over the world.

Revolution if that is what it takes
A peaceful three pronged march from Darwin, Tennant Creek and Cairns to Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, to Hobart and take ALL of Tassie back, where it all strated
Use music, dance, art and culture to raise support, no alcohol, no drugs, no violence

All of it is. Every school for 100 years has taught a few introductory pieces of history along with how to use a library. Can't expect to be spoon fed everything.
I'm 50 and was so into the history of colonial Australia that after learning some of this in the early 80s, I went on to read about it in detail myself. I was 8 amd went to the school library at lunch time.
We did assignments on bush rangers and explorers and the Gold discoveries etc.
If your school didn't, then that was a rare school.
