    I think it’s also important to note that some people actually don’t have a lot, or enough. Some people are actually living in poverty and it’s unfair to think that they can just detach from money and be happy. Happiness is part of the experience, but suffering and depression are also real. If you have actual problems in life, it’s okay to not be happy. Happiness shouldn’t be a goal. It’s just part of life. That’s how i think about this!

      Beautifully said! 💕In this video, I'm speaking on presence - nonattachment and the inner peace that comes with that. Not really about happiness. Happiness is conditional. Absolutely, I agree that there is happiness and sadness. Both coexist in each moment. Both are always present. Own how you feel, in however feels right to you. Personally, I choose to not ride the highs and lows of life. Sometimes it's hard (I'm naturally a very emotional, reactive person) but I aim to live in a middle space, in a place that feels more grounded and centered and observant. I dedicate my life to presence. I like stoic philosophy and a lot of how I live and approach my life is based on that. To each their own 🤗 In this video, as in all of my vides, I'm sharing how I view and approach my own life. 🥰

    The quality of this video is breathtaking! Some days ago, I looked out the window to the sky, and I saw a heart-shaped cloud right in front of my eyes. I normally ignore those little miracles, but that time, I realized something: That every moment is perfect the way they are, liking it or not. It made me think of how things HAD to happen the way they happened to me to see that cloud in that exact same moment. I wondered, if i had gone to get a glass of water 1 minute later than I actualy got, i would miss that moment. And then it wouldn't be perfect. If it hadn't rained that day, maybe days ago or years ago, that cloud wouldn't be there, and the moment wouldn't be perfect anymore. Why it wouldn't be perfect? Because the only perfect moment is the one i'm living in, not the ones that my mind create. I'm so grateful. A lot of things had to happen, since the beginning of the Universe, for me to be commenting here, and for you to be recording this video.

    No matter how the weather looks outside (mostly foggy and rainy) if the heart is full with love it will go along with the circumtances. Myself I journal my thoughts early in the morning, but I need to ground myself withe meditation and yoga to feel myself loved. Slow mornings of selflove and gratitude for what I have seem to keep me balanced for now. Otherwise my mind can keep spiraling and my impatient desires come along to worry me. I need to be disciplant as you say in the video and I'm seeing the consequences of what the outcome is when I don't follow these simple actions. Fynal tip: create for myself or give me small treats every day :) Thanks for this beautiful video! I'm glad I found you

    Thank you so much for your insights, Helena! As always it's so heartwarming. Not depending on anyone or anything in order to feel happiness, is truly one of the most amazing realizations I've had recently. I am all I actually need, which doesn't mean that I don't want things or people in my life, but that my happiness comes from a place deep within me.

    I just see my feelings of being lost, overwhelmed or distracted as a chemical reaction in my brain. Just by acknowledging that the human/animal brain has normal responses, I don't try to understand or battle my thoughts or emotions as much. This is the way I regain my control back. Then I treat myself to some time in an outdoor natural setting or in a clean, peaceful, full of light indoor space where I like to spend some quality "me" time with tea. You are wise beyond your years. Thank you for posting.

    I find it interesting that you quoted John 17:14-15. I might also add that He has put eternity into the hearts of man (Ecclesiastes 3:11). It’s good to appreciate the here and now, but why would He put eternity in our hearts? We are eternal beings who should consider Him the Creator first and foremost, and we should contemplate what eternity we face after this earthly life. Thank you for letting us see your surroundings. They are beautiful and it’s always nice to meditate on the deeper thoughts.🙏🏾

      How beautiful Mona! 🤗Spontaneity is so important! All for spontaneity! It's what keeps life playful and enjoyable. For me, having a disciplined routine in the morning is really important in setting my natural set point for the day. The routines change and flow depending on how I'm doing (I write all about this in my blog post!) but I always start the day doing things that really help me feel present, grounded and joyful. That way, no matter what comes into my life, outside of my control, I stem from a grounded and present place. This was filmed in Ile Rousse!

    I have a long history of being my own worst enemy, so keeping in mind that I have nothing to prove and no one to be definitely helps me in staying more grounded. Although I’m not sure if my autistic mind is able to stop getting attached to things - routines, patterns, things that feel safe - as it’s just how my brain naturally works, I do try to see beauty in that as well, even though it doesn’t always make life the easiest ;)

    • @helenawoods
      @helenawoods  3 роки тому +1

      Nothing to prove and no one to be - ah! Yes!! It's so liberating right?! That feels so light and freeing. And hey - celebrate your routines, Alex! Find ways to make small tweaks to those routines and patterns that they feel more fun and enjoyable for you. 💕 I am my worst enemy too. In my hard moments, I am extremely perfectionist and overly critical of myself. I'm sure it's why I dedicate so much of my life to studying and experimenting with these different ideas, because the mind can be really frustrating when you want that simple inner peace. Finding ways to be present and observant of my mind and thoughts has been so life-giving to me on my journey✨Sending you such a big hug!! This is so profound! Finding happiness without being attached to the outcome or relation is very much entrenched in Hinduism. Do the work, enjoy the process and leave the outcome to come to you at it's pace so that when you get it, you neither feel devasted nor too esctatic. You just accept it as it is. Thanks again for this lovely video ❤️💕

    I hear you. However, I do wonder if you could have sufficiently arrived at where you are mentally and spiritually, had you stayed in the US.

      Probably! You can learn things anywhere. But this is the only reality that currently exists for me now. So I write and share what I’m learning. and I’m currently living and learning things in France.

      Hey Jane! :) There's a scorpio moon opposing uranus and squaring saturn today (lol) so I can totally see why you may feel this way today. However I filmed this video over a week ago and looking back at this video now, this video....is me. And I am so so proud of it. It fully captures my spirit and personality and how I think, and I stand by it 100%. I wrote this script 3 months ago, and it still resonates with my heart today. Thank you for the well wishes lovely soul! ✨💕Hope all is well with you too!

    I ground myself in a book. I hide myself from conversation and people and TV and distractions and focus on words. I give my mind somewhere else to play. Or sometimes, I plug into my iPod and take a walk on the beach or in the woods and let the sun beat down on my skin and warm me. Problems often work themselves out when you aren't focused on them.

    You need to adjust your audio volume levels. The audio levels of your shot footages are much lower than the recorded narrations. You can do that easily in the edit software.

    Hi Helena. I liked your video very much. What I do is meditatation. I work on controlling my thoughts. I don't let my mind go crazy with multiple thoughts. It can be done with practice. I guess it is similar to what you do. Thanks! 🤗

    I started watching your Videos!, snd when I lost or distracted I write in my journal 📓… it’s the way I keep my mind clear… or I go outside Bear foot and I ground myself as I walk in the grass and spend time in my Garden.

    Beautiful video, I just spoke about this in relation to the ocean. I have been to CBT courses and done a lot or reading on being the observer. Very well put across but those words can just wash over others and ourselves, this takes practice but it is very liberating. Hope you have a great week.
