Hey John, the answer is yes. Please do a video on the different sensors and how the range of the lens are different eg, how the 85 is like a 50 when coming from a crop sensor.
Also can you explain the part on resolution and how the quality change when you go into the menu and change from eg, large 24mp to medium which might be something like 18mp.

Seriously shooting an event or a pictorial using a phone is never professional especially here in the Philippines.. Clients see u using a phone, they would rather have their money back.😅

Conversely, I always get ticked off at people and venues who think I'm a "professional" just because I have a good camera. I'm not! I'm just an amateur who appreciates the points brought up in this video, and your comment.

That's an ignorance issue of the client then. You can absolutely do a pro shoot with an iPhone.

What he is saying is very valid but cheap gear or expensive gear which is what we use with all our cameras why treat it any differently the keynote showed what you can pull off with the right person or crew behind the camera same for usher music video and Olivia music video stop making excuses get out there and start shootimg use the iPhone as a learning curve if you have to then move onto cameras

    1. No bokeh
    2. No good high ISO performance
    3. No specific high quality lenses, manual zoom, etc.
    4. No manual controls, manual focus, etc.
    5. No double card slot.
    6. No 12bit or 16bit RAW files.
    7. No trigger for flashes.

Some of these are a little much. I've never shot 16bit raw files. It's a little much. Also there are manual controls they're just clunky.

I would never take anyone serious if they're shooting professionally with an iPhone... So many things can go wrong.

It depends on what you are shooting. Many pros can and do use iPhones in their photography in addition to their traditional cameras.

I am personally way too lazy to try to create bokeh in LR and would rather just shoot a lens/camera system with natural bokeh 😂

I bet it was a lot more expensive and complicated to shoot compared to a conventional cinema camera and didn’t look as good in the end

      @WargodFilms 7 місяців тому

@@josuastangl7140everyone keep saying that when the truth is it don’t have to be expensive use what’s in your budget of course they would use expensive gear because they have but if they used a camera they would still use expensive gear so what is the point your trying to make ?expensive camera cheap camera don’t matter you still need a story lighting and gear to bring it to life the shot the keynote event with the iPhone the shot Olivia music video with the iPhone let’s all be honest it really comes down to the person behind the camera.

      @@WargodFilms of course!
What I'm saying is these "shot on iPhone" videos are nothing more than a marketing gimmick.
I guess cool to know what a smartphone could be capable of in a perfect environment, but it's essentially useless information, because noone will seriously recreate that environment. It brings no advantage.
If they wanted to shoot the best video possible, they'd have used a cinema camera.
If they wanted to shoot as efficiently possible (fast and cheap, less time on set and in the edit), they'd have used a cinema camera, for the great workflow every operator is used to.
The original thesis of this video was "3 Reasons why iPhones are NOT for Professional Photography" and that still stands correct.
Yes you COULD work with one, but that would not only lessen the quality but also not even be cheaper, in fact more expensive and complicated to produce a somewhat comparable result than simply using conventional gear.
But to come back to your point that I absolutely agree with:
Definitely use what you got and practice to get better!
My point was simply regarding professional work. If you intend to make a living as a photographer, I'd highly recommend to invest into a proper camera. And just because there's been one time a big production company used a Phone on a super high budget shoot, to also promote that phone, doesn't change that.
