I was one of those long haired rocker dudes back in these days and I use to take so much crap for admitting that these guys were my favorite band. I look at them today and still think they are/were brilliant.

I remember in college in the early 80's when several of us changed roommates. Back then we couldn't individually afford a record collection, turntable, receiver and speakers so for a while when we went our separate ways 2 of us had no receiver. We rocked out VERY QUIETLY to this song with only the vibration of the needle making any sound. "Nobody breath. I can't hear the music."
Well not really. If they were ahead of their time, you would probably hear a lot of groups with the DEVO sound. But you don't. They were very much a product of their time but doing this unique art punk stuff.

But I am old now, so I don't really keep up with modern tastes. Amazing band. First I shunned in the 70's as being "too weird" and then revered in the early 80's. So much change happening in such a small amount of space it was impossible to keep up with. What an incredibly amazing time it was. Grateful.
