Appreciate it bro! Opened up my main pump motor and the internals came apart jamming the motor and also causing to severely overheat. Luckily I’m within the 2 year warranty, God bless!
It's definitely not a good filter design. Thank you! Just took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together. Motor is still good. Saved me $250 to $400.
Juat going through this with the same model. Ill try to remenber to come back. The motor is very hot but doesnt smell like a burnt motor so im gonna wait for everything to cool down and try cleaning everything. Edit: took apart the motor. Got the little filter out. Cleaned the motor intake blades (not too bad) The filter was really bad (make sure people aren't putting labeled glass jars in the machine! My pump filter was basically a harry potter book) Put it all back together and it runs fine! Thank you for saving me an easy $400 on parts not including labour ♡
Did the motor work after you cleaned it? I’ve got a slightly different Maytag but same filter thing. I wonder if I can try this as it randomly throws an E1 F9 at me
Since the motor was still covered under the warranty, the repairman just gave us a new motor so I don't know if the old motor worked after it was cleaned
Did you have to pull the dishwasher out to replace the motor? We are having the same issue. Hopefully I'll be able to clean and test prior to ordering a new motor
You need to scrape any large particles of food with every dishwasher but you don't need to rinse. No home dishwasher today is made to also act as a food disposal.
Thanks for posting. My circulation pump stopped. I took motor filter out, and unclogged. Working like a charm again! You saved me some $.
Awesome!

it's not even a year, mine is same
8:10 pm. 3 years in. Do not buy. Went to Home Depot today. Whirlpool to replace.

Yes, you have to pull the dishwasher out to replace the motor
Its plugged because there is stuff that should not be run through the dishwasher. Lots of labels from jars, napkins, toothpicks.
Its such a bad filter design. Ive only had mine a little over a year and all kinds of problems now
Agreed
Can you remove that without pulling dish washer out from counter ?
No, you have to pull the dishwasher out
How old is your dishwasher because I'm having the same problem and it 5 years old
We bought our dishwasher in 2022. So, just a couple years old
How do I access the motor?
You have to pull the dishwasher out. Sorry I didn't get a video of that part.
You can't just pop it out. You have take the whole damn.motor out and take it apart
Will definitely avoid this model thank you!
why do people have dishwashers. to wash dishes right. so then why must you wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher makes no sense to me.

I can't even get to the video due to a string of lengthy, forced ads. So frustrating!
Sorry, I have no control over the ads
Ridiculously bad filter design. Designed for failure.
