Kiitos paljon 🤣 I actually lived in Helsinki as a kid. Just for a year or two i think... And went to a Swedish speaking school. So I don't speak Finish.
Yes.. but in this case mostly for cosmetic reasons. A decored and filled edge can be shaped better, comes out better for paint and can take more of a beating than balsa or, in this case, foam core.
Great idea about using the minifile to uncore the laminate. It was nice to see Roxana using a proper mask at the end, I don't like seeing anyone using a paper mask for sanding. Keep up the good work. BTW are you considering Coppercoat? I just got a quote for $2000 just for slipping and splashing my 38 foot cat, more for every day on the hard and another $2000 to be moved into a shed for any antifoul removal. It would be more for you guys with your bigger boat. For most cat sailors nearby, this is the only place they can go. The prices for slipping are getting really silly, so I want to move to Coppercoat so I don't have to slip as often. I was rubbing my hull after work yesterday in the cold water here near Newcastle and I didn't even have to ge my hair wet - so a light scrub every few months is not an issue for a light daggerboard cat with no keels - but beware, some places will cost a huge amount to slip the boat every year for antifoul.
Any tool that gets in there is a great tool! The file works, but struggling to find replacement belts! Unexpected issue. We often use an Allen key to decore as well. Cut off the short end leaving a few mm. Then place the bit in a drill. It is a bit of a rough tool, but it does the job.
The main considerations with a head are where can you put it where you wont get pitched off it and where can you get at the plumbing because sooner or later it will need repairs or un blocking 🤭🤢😬...😂😂 Only you will know will work at this stage .🧙🏻♂️🤞🏻
Actually, with a different design of boat it may not be necessary at all.... Seat height is one reason but this particular toilet is standard height, so not strictly necessary to adjust height. The angle of the hull allows me to move the toilet sideways a bit if I raise the base. But mostly, we need a place to put fasteners in. The deck needs to remain intact, the whole bottom of the boat is a series of large water proof compartments with no penetrations and we want to keep it that way. In short, to have a place to bolt the seat to.
@@buildingwilda for this situation we will be gluing inserts into the foam, then tap a hole to take a bolt for the securing. But it takes extra planing.
And that you take extra care with the inserts. I have one hole to a tapped insert that has been drilled too deep... Into a void that is inaccessible. This is sorted now, but took some extra work and epoxy since I can't get to the back of it..
I can just imaging the future breathtaking views from your new bathroom porthole window. Great job with today’s video.
🤣 I wish we had bigger port holes 🤣. But really happy to finally get the room structurally finished.
Shower next
Nice job you're doing on Wilda!
Very meticulous.
Thank you very much! Some necessary little bits to sort out...
Well done with the shelf and toilet 😊😊
Wish we had more and bigger more exciting things to show 🤣 But a place to place a toilet is at least a super necessary little addition to Wilda 🤣
Bra jobbet!

Awesome work. I really like what your doing. All of that detailed work looks spot on.
Thank you very much! It's not all perfect, but anything important is done well...
Looking good guys. More progress. 👍😎
Thanks 👍 Babysteps 🤣 Just wish it was faster
Great show guys looking forward to next week all ready.
Thanks 🙏
So much better without all the music.
Just building the boat, is enough.
It really speaks for itself.
I think you may have just missed the music.. it's still there 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it!
De-coring to make water tight 👍🏼

Almost certainly going with copper coat.
will you be adhering some type of taff rail along the edge of that narrow shelf, to keep things from falling off?

More coming up on this topic... For now I'm a little concerned about the sink drain.... But it will work... I hope 🤣
I miss the music.😉
Hi Guys, why do you need a base for the loilet?
For proper seat height I imagine.
Actually, with a different design of boat it may not be necessary at all....

@@buildingwilda as you get older seat height means more 😄

can one come & stay a period to assist you on the Build of your boat?
Thanks!
That is super nice of you to offer!
We really don't know how that could be arranged though... Nowhere to stay......
Building a boat is 70 percent sanding i think 😂
Probably more like 95% 🤣
