I'm almost 70 and a Gringo at that , but I have always Loved Selena ! I have all of her CDs and every time I hear her music , I always start to Cry ! I really Miss her so much ! Taken from us way to soon ! I believe in my Heart that she would have been the Biggest Selling Female Artist of all time ! Much bigger than Madonna, Celene , and anyone else ! She would have been the Queen of Pop !
I'm 64 and I feel the same emotions, I was fortunate enough to watch her perform at one of our Saturday night dance of weekend bowling tournament in Lake Jackson, and where I bought the first of her many CDs, years later when she was murdered I remember being in shock upon hearing the news and then being so so angry at the murderer, and then the emotional sadness of her being gone and even today, I can't help but tear up and wonder what might have been if she was still with us.....
He said that the day she was to record this song , he had to do a recording session for one of Abraham's other artists. She wanted him to come to the studio to be with her and so she could sing this song while he watched. He told her that he couldn't get away. He says he believes that this song was about him.
He can listen to it now though. So good to see Chris finally moving forward and in a happier place. The way his wife would've wanted him to bc she loved him so much. SELENA will always be there with him. Do you guys know that this storyline in the vid was pretty much based on Chris and SELENA'S elopement? And notice the red car. Lol.
@@CGPOPPOOP I know SELENA had recorded at least several songs on her Crossover Album before passing away. She never got to complete it obviously. The Label had to add a few touches so to speak.
No, sadly she was long gone by the time this was released. A lot of the songs on the English album weren't even finished so she never heard the finished song and definitely never discussed music videos. They were still testing a bunch of music to see what the album would be when she died. They even made some of her songs from the demos she recorded. I believe the only songs she got to hear were I Could Fall In Love, Getting Used To You, and God's Child. Captive Heart and Dreaming of You were still not finished with vocals, and Missing My Baby was a reboot. I recommend Getting Used To You and Where Did The Feeling Go.
They released a new song in 2015 called Oh No. She never got to record it in the studio so all we have is the demo, but it's one of my favourites of her's
Another song that was supposed to be on the English album was one by Trey Lorenz called Baby I'm in Heaven. I would've loved to hear her sing it. She definitely had the potential to do R&B as well.
I can remember the day. So tragic and sad. I'm a metal head from the 80's, and not really a "pop" fan by any stretch. This young lady was on a different level, really seemed to connect with her fans. When someone like Selena comes along, pop fan or not you know who she is and know her music...very good band as well! Still not a "pop" fan...but I am a Selena fan! R.I.P Selena Quintanilla ☆
I can’t listen to her without crying. You can feel how much love she put into her music and fans. She’s unforgettable and her energy is forever unmatched 💜
The video was made based on lyrics. Selena died before she finished this album. No videos were even being worked on yet because the cd wasn’t completed
When you first get into Selena, hearing her one-of-a-kind voice and the beauty she maintained while on stage, basically being Selena, you will find yourself shaking your head and wondering what could have been. Unfortunately, this does not bring her humanly body back, but you will add to the millions who loved her, FOREVER...
I was living in Corpus Christi when she was killed. I had only been there about 7 months and just discovered her, then she was gone. Sad. She was definitely on the way to the top of crossing over. She was already at the top of the Tejano world.
Thank you, Selena, for giving us these songs in English to remember you by. These songs were number ones in my heart and will always be. Miss you much!
Now, this is an AMAZING SONG!!! the way she sings with such a beautiful soft voice just an outstanding song this is the song that made me fall in love with her.
Her voice was so ethereal. The power, then the softness, that lil rasp she had going on. Ooh, she was really amazing. You are right, she had so much more to give. Only 23, taken away from us so soon. It's still crazy to think about all of these years. Our queen! ♡♡
They definitely went off the lyrics. This girl is not meant to be Selena. In the video they are playing the song on the radio and she appears on the tv as well.
True, but the video echoes Selena eloping with Chris since her father initially didn't approve of their relationship. I think that's why the video shows the girl's dad on the couch.
We all miss Selena! She was amazing! I still can't believe she's gone! She would have been a great star! Rest in Peace sweet Angel! You live on through your music! 💖💖💖
Hard to believe LA REINA was gone by the time this song came out on Radio. When I first heard it I felt so sad but so happy to see her Album to finally get its due in crossing over. Such a shame SELENA didn't get to see it and experience it. I think she was supposed to be in the vid but don't quote me on it. SELENA did discuss her crossover Album some in an interview. She was so thrilled in talking about it. She hoped to be here to witness the fruition of it bc she said so. Thanks so much. 😍😘
Watched this made me cry because I remember all that happened, how young I was and where I was when she was shot. Then this new song came out from the crossover album she was working on and never completed. English was her first language. Think the first english song she recorded was "Missing My Baby" which was released in 1992 (one of the albums I got for Christmas year or 2 before she passed)
Dreaming of you & I could fall In Love are masterpieces- her voice is haunting. She had bronchitis when she recorded Dreaming Of You, so her voice is a bit raspier than usual. I read that record execs were in town to listen to what she was working on, and so she sang it, in one take; that’s why you can hear her breathing throughout the track. Also, it was the only track Selena personally chose for the album. The day before she died, she layed down some extra vocals, and on the day of her murder- she was supposed to put some finishing touches on it and record a new song for the album. #funfacts
This song always makes me cry. Not because of the lyrics, but because Selena was taken from us too soon before she could ever make her cross over videos. RIP Reina.
This storyline was based on SELENA and her husband Chris's Elopement. She had sung this song with her husband in mind and called him to come to the studio to hear it but unfortunately Chris couldn't make it bc he was at their home working with a band for Abraham SELENA'S father. It took a long while after her death for Chris to listen to 'Dreaming of You' poor guy. Thankfully though Chris is in a much better place. He works so hard in helping to keep his wifes' memory alive. Remember, three Anniversaries Chris has to attend to each year; Her death Mar 31st Their wedding Anniv Apr 2 Her bday Apr 16 Anyway, thanks so much.😍😘🎈
I remember reading somewhere that this song specifically meant alot to her bc of her hubby chris. On that day she was killed she was actually supposed to go to her fathers production studio to do a recording session and she wanted chris to hear this song
This song always gets me. To think how much she could've done she was barely crossing over, her fashion boutiques, etc sky was the limit for her.😭😭😭 I was 4 years old crying and crying watching the news of her death I was such a big fan and still am
From what I know, Salena was seeing the guitar player in her band secretly because her father was very controlling and didn't want her to date or see anyone especially a guitar player, he thought she could do better but, she loved him so much that she was willing to sacrifice everything for him, that is what this song is basically about. She married Chris (the guitarist) and I'm sure this is part of their love story and he had a part in it's concept. So sad, like they say "the good die young" and your'e right, she had so much more to offer and so talented, her life was just starting and she was taken away from us so tragically. I can only imagine what she would have become and how far she would have gone in the world of entertainment... : ( She was a beautiful soul. RIP Salena.
This song was the only song she had a say in regards to recording. No one else liked the demo of the song but she heard something and loved it and recorded and now it’s a classic.
She makes me feel grounded and real. Like a close friend that I haven't seen in awhile, so I watch her videos to remind myself that life is full of love and hurt and fun, lots of fun. RIP ♥️😭♥️ I miss her.
I have watched most if not all of your reactions to Selena and they do not disappoint 😁 Your work is amazing and your personality shines through as hers did ❤️💜
The song actually resemble the relationship she had with her husband Chis Perez... and I believed they play this song during the movie when she runs away with him
@@astridgalindo10 actually that happened weeks before her death but sadly chris couldnt go to the studio and listen to the demo she recorded since her father had him work with new band he wanted to sign. he regrets not spending that time with her :(
This concept for the video was what they improvised on after her passing. The album was only partially recorded when she passed, so music videos weren’t even a thought when this song was recorded in early 1995. She passed in March, and the album with 5 new English songs and 2 new spanish songs in July of 95.
She was working in a cross-over album when she was killed, of course this was released after that fatal event.... yes you are right man she had a lot to give, that's why still hurts.. Great reaction! Cheers from Monterrey Mexico!
there were 3 or 4 videos created from the few songs in the Dreaming of You CD. These videos were simply influenced by the lyrics. The actresses are not trying to portray Selena. They are simply acting up scenarios to go with a storyline. These girls are a few of the ones who lined up for the audition to play Selena in her biopic, and who were never used for the part (obviously). They are given their 4 minutes of fame in these videos. Check out the videos for: A Boy Like that, Im getting Used to You, Captive Heart, Siempre Hace Frio, I could fall in Love.
This is just so sad! I do remembered that I cried for her family and the life that she didn’t get to have. She and her husband were going to start a family of their own but, she was murdered not long after they decided. You just don’t know who you can really trust, sometimes.
SELENA passed away 3/31/1995 my dad passed away the next day so each & every time i hear this song it carries so much meaning. I knew that she was an artist even drew designs for her clothes. My dad was an illustrator too. So i can hear them both love them both & blend it together/
Her husband Chris said in an interview that this was the last song she recorded and she tried to get him to go to the studio to hear it but he was working on another song for the band and she passed before he got a chance for her to show it to him until the release. She said she wrote it for him.

According to a Wikipedia profile on the song, the music video was filmed and released posthumously in 1995 to music channels. If you think about it, Selena recorded the song on March 5 of that year, just 16 days before she gunned down by you-know-who, so the music video was probably recorded just one or two months after her death.
Please react to Where Did the Feeling Go by Selena live. It’s one of the few performances where Selena is singing in English live. It’s a must watch. :)
I wish people would react to see more of her videos of her other stuff not just the ones that we know of all the time from the movie she did a whole bunch of other English songs captive Heart is one of my favorite and also a boy like that which was also used in a Infamous Broadway show and movie she did a bunch of other English songs but captive Heart really shows her vocal range and her abilities that just shock you
They released a new song in 2015 called Oh No. She never got to record it in the studio so all we have is the demo, but it's one of my favourites of her's. Another song that was supposed to be on the English album was one by Trey Lorenz called Baby I'm in Heaven. I would've loved to hear her sing it. She definitely had the potential to do R&B as well.
Last song she never got to finish recording if I'm not mistaken. Dude this song chokes me up. She busted open the gates that many before her had paved the way to, for many female artists. Not just latinas. Rip sister.
Jamel I’ve been enjoying you reacting to Selena videos only issue once us fans see a start there’s no ending and just want you to check out all her awesome performances. Here are my top 4 performances I think you would love to have on your channel that you won’t regret. As found on UA-cam 1: Selena- “Missing my Baby” Live 2: Selena -Baila esta Cumbia (Live from Astrodome)
Actually it was a crossover album from Tejano music to American pop music. It was a project and she actually recorded those songs before passing. I remember the day that it was announced that she passed away, it was the saddest day. I thought it was the April fools joke, but it wasn’t.
Yeah, I think her family kind of had the video match with what she did with her husband. Her father was really against it to start with, but her whole family eventually understood how happy she was. I know it's not popular with everyone, but the movie that was made about her life and career, starring J-Lo, was actually really good. You should watch it. I know her family had a lot of control over the movie.
This is such a bitter sweet song. We love it, but it also reminds us of her death and all the dreams she couldn't realize. None of us fans heard this song until after she passed away. To answer your question, she barely finished two or three English songs before she passes. The morning she was shot she was supposed to meet her brother and dad to continue recording. I do not think they had an idea of what the video should be like. They were barely recording.

Por mujeres como tu- Pepe Aguilar
This song had been recorded far after this video was made we where still mourning her death so this song was like a blanket to ease our hearts.
React to some of her home videos and interviews! She’s such an amazing soul!
Thanks for share the Selena videos I love Selena and I miss her
According to a Wikipedia profile on the song, the music video was filmed and released posthumously in 1995 to music channels.
I believe if she was still alive that video would have been way better. If you see her other music videos , they’re amazing ❤️
This video was more of a tribute cause she passed before she could even finish her English album or make the video for the songs🙁
It was pretty much based off of their elopement.
Last song she never got to finish recording if I'm not mistaken. Dude this song chokes me up. She busted open the gates that many before her had paved the way to, for many female artists. Not just latinas. Rip sister.
This song makes me yearn for that special someone
Jamel I’ve been enjoying you reacting to Selena videos only issue once us fans see a start there’s no ending and just want you to check out all her awesome performances. Here are my top 4 performances I think you would love to have on your channel that you won’t regret. As found on UA-cam
1: Selena- “Missing my Baby” Live
2: Selena -Baila esta Cumbia (Live from Astrodome)
Actually it was a crossover album from Tejano music to American pop music. It was a project and she actually recorded those songs before passing.
I remember the day that it was announced that she passed away, it was the saddest day. I thought it was the April fools joke, but it wasn’t.
I remember on my way to Italy, that this song was played over and over again in the airplane
Dreaming of u ...still with my playlist
We miss you queen 🥺💜👑
