One thing I think Jake has a trouble with is finishing, after he knockdown Nate, he didn't capitalise properly his shot selection was not the best and he had a minute with a wobbly legged Nate.
Yeah but nate doesn't get put to sleep even by heavy punching pro boxers. He just doesn't go to sleep that's all.
@@reviewforthetube6485 which heavy punching Pro boxers has Nate faced? A check left hook by a novice at best boxer in Jake Paul (who you can see didn't expect that punch to be one to knock Nate down) sat him down and put Nate on wobbly legs. Not to mention Jake just has to get a TKO for it to be finished and that doesn't require Nate to be knocked out.
@Alex-cw3rz dude he was raised in a boxing gym and boxed pros for 16 years of his life. Even if sparring we are talking about backyard dogfights I'm boxing as he explained. So don't downplay who he's sparred or gone agaisnt. It wasn't fun and Games in those gyms. You just want to downplay Jake that's all.
Nah Jake just didnt want to get out trying to put nate out, especially with Nates Background of being hard to finish, Jake played it smart instead of gassing himself out trying to finish him.
Do you know who Nate Diaz is? Jake couldn't risk gassing himself out by going too hard on trying to finish Nate. Especially since finishing Nate, even when he was hurt, was never a guarantee.
Jake's overall fundamentals have gotten quite better but that ALL comes with Jake's improved eye coordination. Look back at his last 3 or so fights he would duck his head down kinda just ruin any type of traps or whatsoever but now his head is up, ACTUALLY looking at where he's throwing, etc. This was an endurance test for Paul, imo he should fight Chris Avila next he's pretty much Nate but more technical.
He’s too small wouldn’t be fair
@@supasumo2756 So was Nate....
I agree
@@brmawe I know Nate was too small
@@supasumo2756 Yeah & Jake was on the backfoot majority of the fight. I could most definitely see something similar with Avila imo.
Jake has improved for sure, I don't think he has improved enough to win a Tommy Fury 2 fight though. And depending on how Tommy fights in the KSI fight, will depend on how close or bad that defeat could be.
This fight gave jake such insane experience compared to other pros at 8 fighrs or under. I see alot of them gas at 6 rounds so seeing him go 10 rounds is absolutely insane tbh b
Jake wasn't healthy in round 10 though, he was quite exhausted. And it's 5 years training with trainers, facilities and equipment most world title holders would be envious of. I do agree modern Heavyweight down to even middleweight boxers cardio is really poor and I wish it was like how it was in the past where if the fight was 15 x 3 minute rounds you trained to go 15 x 3 minute rounds. And not like today where for a 12 x 3 min round fight, they'd train for 6 - 8 x 2.5 minute rounds and have cool down rounds to recover like most modern boxers.
@Alex-cw3rz can you name a boxer in the 10th round who isn't gassed a bit? Some give up on stools. It happens no pro fighter is fresh in the 10th at least not normally and these guys weren't not throwing they were were throwing at least Jake was. And he went a bit crazy in round 1 I thought he was gonna Gas early from an adrenaline dump but nope he stuck it out. He will learn how to conserve energy even more.
@@Alex-cw3rz yeah
@@reviewforthetube6485 Usyk in the modern day, if you go down to the much lighter weight classes like lightweight and around there it is bascially all of them can go ten rounds without gasing. Guys give up on the stools due to the damage inflicted by the opponent, not because they gassed. Jake's output is now average amount for a pro boxer, so no Jake was not throwing more than normal. Jakes output in the first round was crazy for him, but not out of the ordinary for a pro boxer.
@@Alex-cw3rzhe won the 10th 🤡
The main thing I saw Jake do better was the number of shots he threw, he is now throwing the number of shots a professional boxer throws. Now granted it was against a guy who wasn't being particularly defensive or elusive and that's being generous. However he's shown he has the stamina to throw that many, which is a good improvement. If that will translate to Tommy 2 I'm not as confident, but we shall see.
Facts
Even if he fights Tommy in a rematch, Tommy will just show Jake again levels of skills.
He threw more shots because his opponent was a bit of a punching bag, but also that this was by far Jake's best cardio, looked slimmer in this fight.
42 total jabs between both fighter’s combined. Both looked like novice boxers.
I wouldn’t call it close at all. Jakes footwork and cardio were much better and I liked him working his jab and hook. Still needs some defense work but he’s trending in the right direction. I honestly think he could take Tommy if he stays aggressive and behind his jab.
Hi Roundhouse hope you're well mate.
I think a gazelle hook would have been very helpful for Jake as Nate would stand at a distance you would in MMA, meaning there is more distance to travel and a gazelle hook would not only have covered that distance it is such a powerful punch and seen as that left hook (that I don't think Jake even thought he would have got a knockdown from) was able to drop Nate a Gazelle hook would have probably finished it as a TKO.
Great stream on Bleacher Report last night 💪
Good analysis!
He should fight someone like Chris Avila next before Tommy, seems like the perfect tune up fight before the inevitable rematch
Chris Avila is risky for it to be considered a 'tune up', he did dominate Paul bamba, beat Anthony Taylor and dominated Dr Mike. Also he's faster than Nate and throws more punches, you could see when Nate actually threw combinations, he caused trouble for Jake.
You should be 1 of the commentators next time. A lot of them dont make any sense. Sheesh
Goodjob brother!!
This is way better of breakdown than true Geordie’s
good to have you back, can you breakdown ksi vs fury?
Nice
I felt the same exact same way about the fight. I though Jake should have kept his distance and threw his combos instead of fighting up close like he did. I felt like he could have got the ko but he got complacent.
Amazing fight
Wait! After Nate covered up he punched somewhere else?! That is brilliant! 😂
I thought it was a boring fight. Influencer boxing isnt what it used to be. I just want to see Jake KO ksi. But it looks like jake doesnt want to fight him.
It was great match
Hi Riley ☺️
Do the Terrance Crawford and Spence fight
Cant compare punches outcome in mma vs boxing fight
great breakdown. unbiased and precise.
Jake looked good, but all i could think most of the fight was “damn, nate diaz is really really bad at boxing.” Diaz was his worst opponent since ben askren imo. Relentless and tiring, but would have lost to tyron too. Fournier beats him as well.
Diaz was known for boxing in the UFC while Woodley was known for his wrestling. Diaz is a lot better than Woodley lmao. Don’t forget Woodley got knocked out unlike Diaz
@@soimboredandtesting Woodley has power but that’s it on Nate. When he gets aggressive Nate’s able to land a lot of shots, his #1 problem is that he lost a lot of stamina so his high pressure style doesn’t work as well anymore. I don’t think he was even trying to put power into his punches he never turned into them
So what about the countless leaning in with the head from jake and the clinch / rope holding in the 10th?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hear me out - I don't feel Jake really improved much at all. He changed a few things, but change does not equate to being better.
We saw him fight an opponent that didn't really put much effort in until after 7 rounds. And even then he wasn't really trying to knock out Jake or really go after him too hard.
We basically saw Jake dance in the ring for 30 minutes, practicing what he's been instructed to do over the past several months.
But it's my suspicion that if he'd been against Tommy or another competent boxer he'd basically just wear out and start falling into the same pits that he always has.
I don't see him massively improving anymore. I think this is him, getting close to peaking as a fighter.
Jakes weaknesses from what i can see is clinch work high volume punchers he has a hard time dealing with akward styles and when he gets overwhelmed to much he covers up and just stays there rather then then moving out to the side now on to improvements that he made he improved his footwork a bit he doesn't overextended his jab as much as he used to he has a bit better shot selection and a bit better accuracy so far jake has made improvements but we don't know how good he got because nate didn't give much he doesn't hit hard to wear we can see if jakes gas tank has improved or not because it easy to have a good gas tank when there is not threat that will knock the wind out of you if they hit your body it was basically the same thing with silva jake improved on his cardio but he gassed out in round 4 against Tommy because Tommy pressured jake and make jake overexert himself were nate couldn't
Nate was way better than what me and most my friends were expecting
Jake should box Nick Diaz or Masvidal next
I would like Jake to fight ksi in the uk. Put this to bed and then the rematch with Tommy. This whole thing started because ksi beat Logan.
Jake played Nate’s game if Jake continued playing with his jab he would have won easily not saying he could ko him cause Nate is a dog but still
I think his stamina looked really poor in this fight
I think the Silva fight is still his best performance
he’s preserving
Same opinion bro
Please tell me you don’t have Ksi over Jake ?
cory sandhagen radio
I think jake just can't handle unorthodox styles of boxing very well yet but was easier with nate not having knock out power
Nate Diaz army
If nate had the power that ksi has he would ko jake , it seems like jake struggles with awkward fighters that can take punches and have great cardio, to me it looks like ksi style is perfect to beat jake🤷
What gas tank has Ksi proven to have?
The quality of this fight compared to Inoue and Crawfords victories is laughable. They don’t fight like real professional boxers.
What r u talking about casual, this is how a boxing match would play out with boxers having less than 10 fights. Are u this dumb comparing them to elite world champs. The only difference is that they are pro boxers while spence and crawford are elite level world champs.🤦🏽
Jake took it easy on Nate, more of an exhibition for Jake to give the fans their tickets worth.. He didnt also want to humiliate Nate being a guy he respected..
.... thats why he literally stared running away at the end there... brei
@@Dulc3B00kbyBrant0n he wasn’t running
@@leofriocutzyeah he was😂
Not a great fight for Jake seems like he isn’t growing as fast as he was before wouldn’t mind seeing the Masvidal fight next if they can make it
Nah it would be boring af
only thing improving is his stamina
Not true
Jake acted like he was going in there for the kill meanwhile cut to the end of round 7 when he starts actually physically running away from his opponent then hugs and refuses to let go. all acting with this dude
Hater
What really happened was nate punch drunk that dude brain is on life support. Jake boxing hasn't improved so many mistake that a true will take advantage of. Jake was gasing out in later rounds then nate didn't even punch as much he was walking into them. This shouldn't have happen now jake need to go up against truel boxer who's ranked and on his age.
Because it going to get old real fast if go after a non boxer.
Nate hurt his knee and shoulder in camp. He couldn’t throw proper jabs because of the shoulder injury that’s why he just double high guarded his way inside and relied on short hooks and uppercuts instead of using jab and cross so often like he does in MMA. He and his coach said it in post fight presser
To say Jake had “unbelievable cardio” in this fight is a bit of a stretch
He is, in the 10th round, he throws 60 punches
Nate Diaz was an easy target all match. It wasn’t hard for Jake Paul to up his shot volume because Nate wasn’t returning or defending himself much. I don’t see Jake troubling Tommy Fury on the back of that fight. In fact, giving more opportunity for Fury to clap back will probably hand Jake his first KO/TKO defeat.
Reason why everyone is disappointed with Jake Paul’s performance against a 37 year old mma legend is because he didn’t really improved that much from his tommy fury fight. Blud still struggles a lot and doesn’t knows what to do in certain situations. If Nate pressure fucked up jake’s stance, then ksi will certainly win. At first we all thought jake is gonna dominate but this jake really showed that he’s just a simple American boxer and can be stopped by the likes of ksi.
