    People are somehow still taking away from Tommy. I saw a novice 23 year old get mentally brutalized for two years, have the weight of the world on his shoulders and his families legacy on line, handle all that pressure and fight a clean/strategic fight to come out victorious. Tommy has the potential to become very competitive after 16 pro fights where if he works really hard, and this is what he devotes his life to, he can become great by 26-27. I hope this becomes his life because I saw so much potential in Tommy that for some reason people are looking past it.

      I agree. I think Tommy really needs to dedicate himself to it though. No one foot in one foot out bullshit. He needs to fight 3-4 times a year and really build himself up as most prospects would, he cant just fight once or twice cause he's already famous.

    I think it's over for Jake Paul. The only reason people watched him is because he was undefeated. So people who hated him tuned in to see him get knocked out.
    But each time he would win it would only add to people's desperation to wanting to see him lose. Now that he's lost, there is no appeal to him. He literally loses over half of his normal audience instantly with this loss.
    Also while Tommy was impressive to be sure, he's still a lower level boxer compared to the serious competition. So for Jake to get smoked that badly by Tommy - it really exposed the massive skill gap between Jake and most boxers.
    Even if Jake commits his life to being a boxer no one is gonna care as he spends years fighting lower level pro boxers. And I doubt he'll even do that.
    Honestly I don't even want KSI vs Jake anymore. Who cares 😴

    jake however, should really stick to influencer boxing with that hazy, unhinged performance, where at some points he reminded me of eddie hall just going for blind overhands without any setup. he made a fool of himself, getting completely outboxed and dominated by tommy !

  • @jessec.6876
    @jessec.6876 Рік тому +4

    Jake let that Anderson Silva win get to his head. He needs to work on his volume, foot work, and defense if he stands a chance against Tommy in a rematch. He’s gotta work on neutralizing and getting past that jab too. The Check hook was a good start but it wasn’t enough. Next time he should work on trying to box Tommy instead of trying to land big shots and knock him out for 8 rounds. That lowered his punching output and cost him the fight imo. Hopefully we’ll see a rematch with 10 rounds. Respect to Tommy for out classing Jake. Hopefully we’ll see him take on bigger challenges from now on. Respect to Jake too tho for stepping in the ring and going the distance with someone whose been training for over a decade. KSI’s response was beyond obnoxious

    • @RBEmpathy
      @RBEmpathy Рік тому +2

      I would just add that Tommy clearly understood that he needed to keep distance and mostly did that. He got cocky and checked a few times.
      But Paul was looking straight sloppy with his advancements. He needs a lot of work in my opinion to be able to catch Tommy.
      Though obviously he had the power to do damage, he's also not great at timing those big shots, and when he did, he telegraphed it so obviously that Tommy usually got away with being grazed
      So, Paul proved he's a boxer, but he also proved he's a mediocre one.. at least for now.

    • @jessec.6876
      @jessec.6876 Рік тому +1

      @@RBEmpathy Yeah I do think Paul looked significantly worse here than in the Anderson fight. Not a lot of improvement. He's gotta stop relying on the same big time shots and instead add new moves to his arsenal. An uppercut or hook to the liver would be a great shot to practice for his next fight. Might even be time to switch up the trainer or bring in new guys to his camp.
      I appreciate you adding on a civil constructive matter tho. I agree with you everything you said and It's good that we can have these types of discussions without flinging insults at each other.

    This is the best and most honest take I've heard, I agree with so many of these points and I had been saying and arguing with so many people before this fight that people are seriously underestimating tommy. I said tommy would win the whole time and people laughed but skill wise Jake isn't at the level of tommy. By all means respect to Jake he definitely shown his best but he has a lot to still improve on. Tommy deserves a lot of respect to take on the enormous pressure he had on his shoulders and still perform and outbox Jake for the whole fight. Everyone wrote him off the spectators and the boxing community, he was told he'd crack under the pressure and he didn't, the spot light wasn't to much for him. Ridiculed for being scared and ducking Jake for two years, chatting about his girlfriend being the bread winner in the relationship, new born baby, in the shadow of Tyson, told to retire if he loses, he'd be disowned and have to stay in Saudi but he turned up on fight night and dominated and the only time he cracked was when it matter when his hand was raised. I agree I think in a rematch it would go terrible for Jake because tommy displayed enough skill that he could definitely fix the mistakes made in the fight and capitalize on them next time. I believe tommy should try to make a fight with KSI or stick to his traditional boxing route. That or the best option would be for Jake to learn from this fight and fight a Nate Diaz and KSI fight joe Fournier, if they both come win that then KSI and Jake can fight and the winner fights tommy. Or if KSI fights him and loses to tommy then Jake and KSI can fight and Jake can call tommy out for a rematch.

    Tommy’s footwork, chin, feints, determination, hand speed, & jab really impressed me. Despite the loss I respect Jake for trying to fight someone with the experience/background Tommy has. That being said Jake looked very lackluster compared to his last performance & I thought tommy won clearly despite the knockdown in the 8th. He looked like he was struggling to find his range & I think Tommy’s jab did a good job at neutralizing his offense for the majority of the fight(wish Jake used his left hook more since Tommy rarely had his right hand up to protect his chin when he jabbed). Jake was also telegraphing his overhand right A LOT and I think he was being over-reliant on it in the later rounds.

      A lot of people were overlooking Tommy, I kept trying to tell the delusional fanboys that Jake will genuinely face adversity 🤦🏾‍♂️😂😂😂 and people just brushed it off and acted like Jake was going to walk through him, Jake has a lack of knowledge or understanding of how to use a jab. Infact he didn't use his jab as much as he could've and he had a lack of head movement and was flat footed. Unlike Jake's previous other opponent's Jake went against a young and athletic 23 year old that competes within traditional boxing level. Tommy's jab was going to be a very significant thing that Jake would've had to get around, Jake is just fundamentally not refined enough.

Anderson has been KO’d multiple times, same for Tyron and especially Ben Askren lmao. I do not think Jake has the power nor the coordination and energy transfer to knock out real boxers like Tommy. The other fact is Tommy doesn’t let him set anything up and punches don’t hit the same when you can see them coming from a mile away.

Jake was trying to counter Tommy's jab with left hooks, but misses most of it as well as Tommy's chin easily absorbs it. Tommy should work on setting traps and counter punching Jake's counter left hook and looping right.
