Just a heads up to anyone trying this. I just wrapped the thrustmaster f1 wheel with 1.1mm lizard grip and it’s good but it doesn’t bend how you need it too so there’s a few wrinkles but really grippy
I was thinking of doing the same to my 3d printed wheel but using the thinner 0.8mm grip. Did you have enough material to cover both sides of the wheel from 1 pack?
@@macsgo2hell I think I used 1 pack but I ended up taking it off and wrapped it again with a .5mm tennis racket grip tape. Used 2 packs I bought off Amazon and it’s still solid.
The Wilson Tennis Racquet wrap works really well. Looks good, not too thick or thin, wraps easy enough without bunching up, comes in a variety of colors.
Good video, I find the grips on the Dimsim R1 aren't to my liking either, I've spent a lot of time building a custom button array and shifter mount for it, all machined from 6061 alloy and after some testing I'm finding the comfort levels are not there, this might be the answer.
Hi, great video! How much it thicken the rim? I use the Fanatec GT Alcantara rim, which a little bit thin to my big hands, and i search for a solution to make it thicker... :)
Have you done a full wrap with the handlebar tape? I got a new rim yesterday with rubberized handle, but it's too thin in diameter. Is it possible to get a nice and tight wrapping with it? I kind of need the handle to be somewhat thicker.
I have tried a foam handlebar wrap before, but I found that too thick and awkward to work with. It could be the stuff I used wasn't right for the job, so you need to pick the right material.

That's so funny. I'm a tennis player and have a bunch of this stuff around.. I never would have thought to use it as a wheel wrap. Thanks.
Yeah, it works great with the right wrap.
This is awesome!! U just solved my steering problem!! Getting this product! Thank you 🙏🏽

The wrap I'm using isn't think so it doesn't add much that you'd notice. But thicker bike handlebar wrap could be the answer for you.
@@SimRacingCorner thanks for your answer!
Thanks!

Hello bud, can I ask what buttons you used? Are they clicky/tactile? Thanks!
I have video on that ua-cam.com/video/Cf3MuVw_Hbg/v-deo.html
Where can you buy the shifters , that would interest me , because I have the same wheel and would also like to install them.
They were from here: www.ascher-racing.com/
Does this tape work on alcantara aswell without damaging it ?
Should be fine
How many packs of that wrap did you need?
Just one pack, it was a pack of 3 wraps, just used 2.
What glue did you use, and did you glue the bit where you started and where you finished or did you you just overlap the start?
At the beginning, it just grips with overlapping. Used the included tape to stick the end as you would with a tennis racket.
awww hi sim cat lol
😸👍
