- A classic version of Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street”, redone by the great one- David Lee Roth.
If you know by now how much I love that old red bomb of Dave’s, I had to add her to this video. Featuring Daves’s 51’ Merc, illustrated by me.
With everything going on in the world today, we all need a little David Lee Roth in our lives to make things better.

I've never been a DLR fan, but the way he did this cover just upped my opinion of him.
well said and that is why DLR is great ,simply put he has his own personal stamp to put on any song he chooses and sadly most singers do not

Before listening: I love covers when done well. After listening: I liked this cover.
For Me: After listening, there is STILL no equal to the original.

Dave’s vocals are triple tracked which is fine I always double track on my records.
As a black dude growing up I can still remember the outta body experience I had in 1978 hearing "Running With the Devil" for the very first time! How can a guitar sound better than Hendrix? Are there three guitarists? Eruption wtf??Who's the singer omg the singer!!! King Edward and Diamond Dave!! Saw them 4 times live. This here is well done so cool Thnx Diamond DLR

Still remember hearing VH I for the 1st time. Only album i can say that about. Snowy day in Feb 78, I'd been shoveling snow for sak $. Went to weed guys house. This arse whole (bully, not weed guy) plugs in an 8track and spun the volume. Hear (1st time) thump thump thump thump of RWTD. Then the twing where EVH strums the strings right in front of string stops. Within the next 10 minutes music had changed (for the better)

My first time hearing DLR's cover of this, and I am enjoying it. I love the original by Rafferty as my mother introduced me to it growing up in the 80s. I also love the cover by the Foo Fighters. RIP Gerry Rafferty.

My dad had Gerry on vinyl so so of the first records I experienced as a child. To know Dave is into him is just another connection I’ve always felt with Dave. He seems to be the one to evaluate culture for us

Great song, I've always loved Gerry Rafferty's song, I remember it when it came on the radio. Even though I loved hard rock and metal, this song has always moved me in a positive way.

When i hear this song I always think of the time i was on holiday in Italy and I was in a café bar and they were playing baker street on repeat on the jukebox, it was 1980 and I was 10yrs old, that was a great evening and I have loved this song ever since, thanks Dave and a huge thank you to Gerry.

The Diamond...Back to his roots. Many people may not know that VH use to tear up the Hollywood Strip playing covers. Even disco songs! Believe it. And they killed it! All with respect to the track while lighting it on fire with their energy.
You are very correct! I have an audio only video on my channel of Van Halen covering Led Zeppelin's "The Rover" back in 1976 if you want to hear Eddie absolutely shred that tune. He was only 21 yrs old at the time and the audio is from the soundboard recording of the show. Check it out!

Pretty perfect cover on a pretty perfect song. Emotive and mysterious Dave captures the essence of the song without being a carbon or a parody which isn't easy cuz the song is subtle. Kudos to the guitarist who just nailed this. Love it!
