When you have a race of people whom their Creator has so GENEROUSLY blessed in soooooooo many ways, it's hard to compare them with each other.!!They're all SUPERB!! But this here sistah, is truly a baaaad one!! She rolls those notes out of perfectly pursed lips and coming from way down in the depths of muscular lungs, they fill our atmosphere with gorgeous melody!! I could listen FOREVER!! The sound of that band is too beautiful!! They're killing it!!!🎵🎶💕💯
I took a trip to Paris, I saw the Eiffel Tower I flew to Honolulu, it's a South Pacific flower I traveled way to Burma across the Bay of Bengal Went to old Malaya, what a perfect locale Traveled here and yonder, I never found a home I guess it must be written, all my life to roam There's a land of milk and honey On the river they call the Nile And every day is dried and sunny On the river they call the Nile It's a Garden of Eden With riches untold And it's on this land of milk and honey On the river they call the Nile Once beautiful, wonderful Africa Some day, I'm coming I'm coming for to see the promised land With days of sunshine And nights of heavenly starlight It's a paradise of sea and sky and scam They got some talking drums That tell of love and laughter Telling of a new and a brighter day And they're telling all the people That from here and on after There ain't gonna be no trouble on the way It's a Garden of Eden With riches untold And it's on this land of milk and honey On the river they call the Nile 'Cause I've been moving and going and coming and roaming Roaming, roaming, roaming, roaming All my life All my life To roam
Finally someone uploaded this. I actually had to hunt down the vinyl a few years just to even hear this. It disappeared off the web for some years. South Bronx NYC Here.
Yeah, i also kinda remember it being up but years ago - was surprised when I realized it was nowhere to be heard on yt now. However, the Inner City reissue's not that hard to get across, so I just might catch that soon, also :) Thanks and cheers, from Belgrade, Serbia.
I've found great material on abbey, little richard, john coltrane and more game changing artists researching at the library ❤ everyday in my home is a historical day for me not just black history month.

sister Aminata Moseka, beautiful Abbey! love forever !
The intensity at the end of this song is so beautiful. She was one of the greats.
I took a trip to Paris, I saw the Eiffel Tower
I flew to Honolulu, it's a South Pacific flower
I traveled way to Burma across the Bay of Bengal
Went to old Malaya, what a perfect locale
Traveled here and yonder, I never found a home
I guess it must be written, all my life to roam
There's a land of milk and honey
On the river they call the Nile
And every day is dried and sunny
On the river they call the Nile
It's a Garden of Eden
With riches untold
And it's on this land of milk and honey
On the river they call the Nile
Once beautiful, wonderful Africa
Some day, I'm coming
I'm coming for to see the promised land
With days of sunshine
And nights of heavenly starlight
It's a paradise of sea and sky and scam
They got some talking drums
That tell of love and laughter
Telling of a new and a brighter day
And they're telling all the people
That from here and on after
There ain't gonna be no trouble on the way
It's a Garden of Eden
With riches untold
And it's on this land of milk and honey
On the river they call the Nile
'Cause I've been moving and going and coming and roaming
Roaming, roaming, roaming, roaming
All my life
All my life
To roam
Magnificent. Would love to find the lyrics.
Good job, thx. Now I can follow. Just one correction......It's a paradise of sea and sky and sand.

What a great tune by one of the loveliest storytellers in music. Great saxophone work by one of the best, Mr. Liebman.

Merci
A Captain Beefheart fan who likes Abbey Lincoln, too -- that figures!~
Thank you been looking for dis

Did Abbey write the lyrics to this tune?
Apparently.
Abbey wrote and added the lyrics to a piece written by John Coltrane.
Anyone know where I can find the lyrics?

lyrics (in part):
There's a land of milk and honey
on the river they call the Nile
Everywhere is bright and sunny
on the river they call the Nile
it's a garden of Eden
with riches untold
and it's on this land of milk and honey
on the river they call the Nile
Beautiful wonderful Africa, someday I'm coming
I'm coming for to see the promised land
with those days of sunshine and nights of heavenly starlight
it's a paradise of sea and sky and sand
It's a garden of Eden
with riches untold
and it's on this land of milk and honey
on the river they call the Nile
With those talking drums that tell of lovely lovely laughter
they're telling of a new and a brighter day
they're telling all the people from here and ever after
there ain't gonna be no trouble on the way
It's a garden of Eden
with riches untold
and it's on this land of milk and honey
on the river they call the Nile
on the river they call the Nile
