Once the 6700 XT drops even more it will prolly be the best price to performance graphics card out there since it also has 12 GB VRAM and it can even do 1440p
one exception is that the 12gb 3060 is one of the cheapest GPUs you can find that has that much VRAM, so it's a fantastic choice for AI accel on the cheap

@@arandomguy9669 AMD cards don't have the greatest support for AI accel tasks and generally have kinda shitty throughput for it anyways due to lacking Tensor cores and whatnot, which is why i specifically recommended a 3060 but for gaming, which is what 99% of people use a GPU for, AMD cards are a fantastic value because you're not having to pay for all the AI silicon you're not gonna be using, plus they generally use much less power than the average NVIDIA card

Why does it "sucks", they both have their advantages, for example, AMD being more price/competitive, u get more vram and more raw power, and now with the lastest driver u get Frame generation even on RX 6000 (rtx 3000 equivalent) on any game that runs dx10,11,12, opengl and vulkan, also Video Upscalling (UA-cam or movies, media content, etc), new series has AV1 codec, so "nvidia for streaming and recording" is not a reazon anymore, drivers are good and satable (Not like 2015 times), nvidia has better RT perfomance and DLSS looks like 5-10% better than FSR 2.2/FSR 3, but thats all, there no a good reazon for being a fanboy nowdays. I can 100% vouch on this take. My main PC is rocking the 3060 and has kept me happy for the most part, but I recently made a PC flip that included the 6600 XT and it absolutely SMASHED my personal PC’s benchmarks. I get on average 140 frames on Apex with the highest settings, but the 6600 XT was able to average around 40-60 frames higher. It was a very noticeable difference. Zach’s takes are always #1

You have to look at this as a comparison to the previous giants on the list. It was one of the 10-series cards. The jump in performance from 10 to 30 is pretty substantial. And as someone who isn't very well versed in tech myself, plugging in another Nvidia card and the driver stuff being handled quickly and easily by geforce experience is one of those reasons why I have been skittish about switching to AMD. It's not quite as automatic as with Nvidia. Supposedly anyway. My point is, it's easy for me to see why 3060 was the step up. It's familiar, definitely an upgrade, most likely went for the 12 GB vram option, for amateurs like me, it looks like the obvious choice.
i recently upgraded from a 3060ti to a 7900xtx for just 900 bucks and although there are a bit more issues with the card, its still the second best graphics card on the market for less than half the price of the best card.

Depends, for most gamers, you probably wont use the RT cores, but if you use DLSS, or blender, get the 3060, it has the same performance as the 2070S and has better DLSS than it. The 6650XT will work now, but might not in 3-4 years time
Just playing games, yes. If you want to do anything else, you have to get nVidia. Hope AMD 8000 series finally get it going where we do not need to have to have NV card for anything other than gaming......(well, AMD works, but there need to be a lot of work around and software support)

Especially it should be supported. Also, Premiere is very expensive. I do not have that kind of money to pay for it. AI just doesn't work with AMD cards. CUDA is a huge problem. Nvidia NSight is extremely valuable as a tool for people in the industry. Solidworks also uses hardware exclusive to Nvidia cards. Nvidia has collaborations with universities where they teach people about their tech. AMD does not do that. As a result 100% of the commercial GPU market is occupied with Nvidia and they are the industry standard. That is why all commercial software only work with Nvidia cards. Stop defending AMD cards cause they are only good at gaming and just accept that. A lot of us aren't just pure gamers and have jobs/hobbyists who need Nvidia cards to help us out. GPUs aren't just for games in 2023 and reviewers not conveying this information is honestly misleading. Also let's not forget that we are comparing raw performance here. Both AMD and Nvidia cards can handle light games very well and provide 200+fps. What really matters is the heavy games and there too Nvidia is just better with DLSS+FrameGen and the ray Tracing tech is just better. It also has Nvidia reflex for esports and I could continue this list but my hands are tired at this point. Yes the GPUs are expensive but AMD is not a better deal either.

Or, just go with the RX 6600 XT. You can find them in great secondhand condition for less than $350 AUD / $235 USD. Very solid for 1080p and even 1440p gaming. This current generation is best skipped although should the 7600's price drop to below $250 USD then it's going to be an easy recommendation.

I just bought a new RTX 3060 12GB for $250 USD over the counter in Canada. I don't game, but I wanted CUDA for productivity. I'm encouraged by ROCm progress lately, and I'm hopeful AMD will become competitive in non-gaming GPU applications. The 3060 will serve until the next generation appears.
I gave AMD 3 chances on video cards, and sadly the driver issues ruined team red for me at least for gpus, I still rock my ryzen cpus but gonna be nvidia all the way for me from now on

I for one build computers for companies and for my own sanity only use Nvidia Cards for mid-higher end customers and intel CPUs for high uptime requirements. AMD or Intel CPUs if certain aspects are needed like Intel Accelerators or High AMD core count and density and cache. AMD cards I usually reserve for Applications requiring many displays at a low price like for Mcdonalds or video walls. Most of my private customers are either people who need office PCs or Gaming PCs. Office PCs for higher end users I switched to AMD APUs for lower end "Dad" like office PCs I go with Intel because of reliability and stability. Gaming PCs I take what the user demands as most "Gamer" customers come in saying "I have XYZ Budget and want AMD/Intel CPU and want a AMD/NVIDIA GPU". Then I try to recommend based on what fits and then have to readjust because its rare that someone who wants AMD will accept Nvidia or someone who wants Nvidia to accept AMD and god forbid I recommend Intel to anyone but for content creation servers
Made the switch to AMD and have not regretted it- especially if you have an amd chip, they work so well together and some actually support raytracing (which honestly feels like a waste to framerates)

Everyone I’ve ever known in my life has had the same consistent issues with AMD cards. Nvidia ones are few are far between, if any (from my experience).
I grabbed a brand new PowerColor Fighter RX 6650 XT for $210 back in early December. The same card is still only $230 on Amazon at the moment. I could not be more impressed with the performance of this card, especially for how little I paid for it.
The 6650 XT actually beats the 4060 as well which is crazy. AMD on top but I believe the intel Battlemage will become the best price to performance GPU line up

The 3060 has Ray racing cores, and amazing features like DLSS. It also has a built in video encoder which makes it so so much better for streaming and content creation than an AMD GPU.
KEEP in mind that the 6650 XT only has 8 PCIe Lanes on the 4.0 x16 connection, so If your MB has a PCIe 3.0 x16 graphics slot or lower it will make a difference with the 3060 who has 16 PCIe Lanes
I have upgraded but I still have my Rx570 😅 just gonna keep it for the apocalypse. It's survived this long, same with my og elite Xbox 360. It's just preloaded with banger games 😂
The problem is in different countries stuff is priced different Here in my country an rtx 4060 (the worst price to performance gpu) Is actually one of the best in my place because of the price range it is. Idk if this happened because of the negative response And it has frame gen (which is obviously not something that i should say but its still a nice addon) And its still a nice upgrade from gtx 1650
Never had any problem of driver when I had an Nvidia card. I have owned a 7900XT for two months and I ran into several driver problems. I actually had to roll back to a previous version. You can't say there are no problems with AMD or less. Feels way more in my case.
These looped endings are actually getting so annoying because yes it connects to the start but if you just end it there it makes no sense, the only time it’s actually good is when the ending makes sense AND loops with the start
So i grabbed my 3060 12Gb for my brothers build for $200.... and yes, AMD does have more issues than Nvidia ESPECIALLY for a lot of production applications. That being said, if you are just a pure gamer, 90% of the time i would also recommend AMD.
i have a 3060 12gb model thats its stock clock is faster than a 3070. and its not a bad card brand new for $300 plus with small side features that i need like nvidia broadcast literally make my life 1000 times better, best money you can spend on a budget card. every time i had a amd product it takes them like 3 months to even patch out a bad driver that doesnt let you use a card or it just dies after a year of use
comparing mine to the 6650xt mine whoops its ass for like 40 bucks more plus the drivers wont be bad :3 also its not over paying its paying the extra money knowing the computer will last a few more years than the amd e-waste comparison
I’m probably going to go for a budget 3060 build. Amd FSR combined with dlss would be pretty nice for me considering my parents don’t have a good financial situation and the 3060 is cheaper for me in the state I live in. I would be getting a massive increase in fps considering I play games with around 5-10 fps with 15 at most on some cheap hp laptop I got years ago connected to a 240hz spectre monitor because I thought I could play on a monitor by itself☠️ I was going to go with a budget 4060 build but I’ve learned my lesson now🌚
That is really good advice because I am helping a friends brother, but are still in the part-pickingphase and actually the rx 6650 got a lot of backlash so when I looked it up I found less complaints about the 6650 and the 3060, which I why I was going to ho with the 6650
By the way, AMD drivers are the best.. They may have issues on occasion during the launch of a game, but AMD is on top of it, creating way bigger performance jumps with all their driver updates, and they support their cards so much longer than Nvidia. I say this as the owner of a 3090 in my desktop and a 6600 in my laptop. I know for a fact, that my 6600 will be supported long after the 3090 loses nvidia's blessing😂 Also, the 6600 in my laptop is so much smoother than the 3060 laptop- which wasn't the case when they came out, but thanks to driver updates and time, amd made it spank 3060 laptop, and it's got 8 gigs of vram😎
AMD driver issues is always an issue. AMD has always had issues and I my latest upgrade was AMD and while I feel like I got more value for money the issues that I deal with sporadically remind me of this ever prevailing issue

Yeah sure, its great, unless you want to stream or render, or do anything work load related. Go AMD if you are ONLY gaming, but as a work station and content creation PC, you'll love the nvidia performance uplift.
I got the MSI 6650 XT Gaming X and its a beautiful gpu with rgb and amazing performance! My cpu is the ryzen 5 5600 and it works also very fast and i have no bottleneck
If your gaming you have Nvidia DLSS and Reflex now DLSS 3.5 improving framerates on 20,30,40 series And if you use 3d rendering and use blender Nvidia has better support for rendering
I live in a country where electronics pricing is messy because almost everything is imported with varied taxes, making AMD & Nvidia usually evenly priced. I go with AMD because those cards have more reliabitly and lifespan. Two Nvidia cards died on me, three if you count the "I'm seeing signs".
I am not upgrading from 2060 to 6650 RX. My eyes are on the 4060Ti 16GB Comparing an AMD to an NVIDIA is arbitrary..... There is a huge difference in long-term quality. I have used 550Ti, 1050Ti, 1650, 1650Ti, but I want something a little more. Mind you, GTA V 4K is 50 Frames maxed out.
It's frustrating when UA-camrs loop their YT shorts with transitions that replay the short but make it look like the video is still going, just to generate more artificial view time. Pathetic.
Because it's getting outdated, yes it has 11gb, but it doesn't support mesh shaders to begin with, alan wake 2 is almost unplayable, yes sure, it can play a lot of older games, but it's not the 4K card it once was.

Bought 3060 12gb for Ai Stable Diffusion. For just gaming, yes go AMD. For both, 3060 12gb is good for beginners.
Its an okay price card that gives u access to DLSS, theres no loss in either case tbh

Also my opinion about AMD's GPU is that its need configuration for it to work without trouble, after reading a lot of people's experience about AMD Driver, some of them say "I don't have any problem" And some say "I have problem" Even though they are use the same type of GPU (like Rx 6600) one still have problem might because by different PC component that might cause trouble to AMD's GPU.

Depends, for most gamers, you probably wont use the RT cores, but if you use DLSS, or blender, get the 3060, it has the same performance as the 2070S and has better DLSS than it. The 6650XT will work now, but might not in 3-4 years time
Just playing games, yes. If you want to do anything else, you have to get nVidia. Hope AMD 8000 series finally get it going where we do not need to have to have NV card for anything other than gaming......(well, AMD works, but there need to be a lot of work around and software support)

@@Justgreen89925 Trust me, anything other than those software (handbrake also works), AMD card will not work. Cannot get hardware transcoded on H265 (only H264 works on GPU), not acceptable. Especially it should be supported. Also, Premiere is very expensive. I do not have that kind of money to pay for it. (Not asking for free, but something more affordable especially since I am not using it to make money)
@@Justgreen89925Blender has special Nvidia Acceleration. Nvidia Cards have NVENC codec which just shits on anything from AMD.
Anything engineering related just shames AMD as well. AI just doesn't work with AMD cards. CUDA is a huge problem. Nvidia NSight is extremely valuable as a tool for people in the industry. Solidworks also uses hardware exclusive to Nvidia cards.
Nvidia has collaborations with universities where they teach people about their tech. AMD does not do that. As a result 100% of the commercial GPU market is occupied with Nvidia and they are the industry standard. That is why all commercial software only work with Nvidia cards.
Stop defending AMD cards cause they are only good at gaming and just accept that. A lot of us aren't just pure gamers and have jobs/hobbyists who need Nvidia cards to help us out. GPUs aren't just for games in 2023 and reviewers not conveying this information is honestly misleading.
Also let's not forget that we are comparing raw performance here. Both AMD and Nvidia cards can handle light games very well and provide 200+fps. What really matters is the heavy games and there too Nvidia is just better with DLSS+FrameGen and the ray Tracing tech is just better.
It also has Nvidia reflex for esports and I could continue this list but my hands are tired at this point.

A long time ago I did modeling of machine elements in Solidworks (and very little in AutoCAD), but I haven't done it for years, even though it's my profession. Recently a friend offered me to do modeling in Creo, so I need a new PC ASAP. I guess something like a GTX 1660 Super would be enough for me, but I've been eyeing the RX 6700XT, but your comment has me completely confused.

Or, just go with the RX 6600 XT. You can find them in great secondhand condition for less than $350 AUD / $235 USD. Very solid for 1080p and even 1440p gaming. This current generation is best skipped although should the 7600's price drop to below $250 USD then it's going to be an easy recommendation.

I just bought a new RTX 3060 12GB for $250 USD over the counter in Canada. I don't game, but I wanted CUDA for productivity. I'm encouraged by ROCm progress lately, and I'm hopeful AMD will become competitive in non-gaming GPU applications. The 3060 will serve until the next generation appears.
I gave AMD 3 chances on video cards, and sadly the driver issues ruined team red for me at least for gpus, I still rock my ryzen cpus but gonna be nvidia all the way for me from now on

I for one build computers for companies and for my own sanity only use Nvidia Cards for mid-higher end customers and intel CPUs for high uptime requirements. AMD cards I usually reserve for Applications requiring many displays at a low price like for Mcdonalds or video walls. Most of my private customers are either people who need office PCs or Gaming PCs. Office PCs for higher end users I switched to AMD APUs for lower end "Dad" like office PCs I go with Intel because of reliability and stability. Gaming PCs I take what the user demands as most "Gamer" customers come in saying "I have XYZ Budget and want AMD/Intel CPU and want a AMD/NVIDIA GPU". Then I try to recommend based on what fits and then have to readjust because its rare that someone who wants AMD will accept Nvidia or someone who wants Nvidia to accept AMD and god forbid I recommend Intel to anyone but for content creation servers

Made the switch to AMD and have not regretted it- especially if you have an amd chip, they work so well together and some actually support raytracing (which honestly feels like a waste to framerates)

Everyone I’ve ever known in my life has had the same consistent issues with AMD cards. Nvidia ones are few are far between, if any (from my experience).
I grabbed a brand new PowerColor Fighter RX 6650 XT for $210 back in early December. The same card is still only $230 on Amazon at the moment. I could not be more impressed with the performance of this card, especially for how little I paid for it.

It also has a built in video encoder which makes it so so much better for streaming and content creation than an AMD GPU.

KEEP in mind that the 6650 XT only has 8 PCIe Lanes on the 4.0 x16 connection, so If your MB has a PCIe 3.0 x16 graphics slot or lower it will make a difference with the 3060 who has 16 PCIe Lanes

I can say it from experience, this card can play anything in 1080. One of the best purchases of my life.
Never had any problem of driver when I had an Nvidia card. I have owned a 7900XT for two months and I ran into several driver problems. I actually had to roll back to a previous version. You can't say there are no problems with AMD or less. Feels way more in my case.

In the UK a 6650xt is a 8gb card for £230 and a 3060 12gb is £264 both brand new but you could probably get them cheaper used
i have a 3060 12gb model thats its stock clock is faster than a 3070. and its not a bad card brand new for $300 plus with small side features that i need like nvidia broadcast literally make my life 1000 times better, best money you can spend on a budget card. every time i had a amd product it takes them like 3 months to even patch out a bad driver that doesnt let you use a card or it just dies after a year of use

I’m probably going to go for a budget 3060 build. Amd FSR combined with dlss would be pretty nice for me considering my parents don’t have a good financial situation and the 3060 is cheaper for me in the state I live in. I would be getting a massive increase in fps considering I play games with around 5-10 fps with 15 at most on some cheap hp laptop I got years ago connected to a 240hz spectre monitor because I thought I could play on a monitor by itself☠️ I was going to go with a budget 4060 build but I’ve learned my lesson now🌚

That is really good advice because I am helping a friends brother, but are still in the part-pickingphase and actually the rx 6650 got a lot of backlash so when I looked it up I found less complaints about the 6650 and the 3060, which I why I was going to ho with the 6650

They may have issues on occasion during the launch of a game, but AMD is on top of it, creating way bigger performance jumps with all their driver updates, and they support their cards so much longer than Nvidia.

Also, the 6600 in my laptop is so much smoother than the 3060 laptop- which wasn't the case when they came out, but thanks to driver updates and time, amd made it spank 3060 laptop, and it's got 8 gigs of vram😎

AMD driver issues is always an issue. AMD has always had issues and I my latest upgrade was AMD and while I feel like I got more value for money the issues that I deal with sporadically remind me of this ever prevailing issue

I got the MSI 6650 XT Gaming X and its a beautiful gpu with rgb and amazing performance! My cpu is the ryzen 5 5600 and it works also very fast and i have no bottleneck
As a 6650xt i say absolutely not. This card is stuttery as hell. It can't even be stable in intense situations or for a game from 2005
If your gaming you have Nvidia DLSS and Reflex now DLSS 3.5 improving framerates on 20,30,40 series
And if you use 3d rendering and use blender Nvidia has better support for rendering
RTX 3060 is 280 rn, RX 6650 is 240 rn. Since I plan on recording and potential blender stuff the RTX 3060 is an easy choice
I live in a country where electronics pricing is messy because almost everything is imported with varied taxes, making AMD & Nvidia usually evenly priced.
I go with AMD because those cards have more reliabitly and lifespan. Two Nvidia cards died on me, three if you count the "I'm seeing signs".
