  • Shows how to remove the charcoal/carbon canister for the EVAP system. Shows how to disconnect vacuum hoses and electrical connectors. Shows how to replace the Vent Solenoid valve. How to clean the filter inside the canister ahead of the Vent solenoid valve. P0446 DTC eventually fixed with a new Purge solenoid. See my video on the Purge Solenoid valve Replacement.

Hey man I just wanted to comment and say this was an amazing video, the explanations, diagrams, and video all are great and unlike most car repair videos you actually show and explain how and where things go and work. Great informative video 👍

I have a cobal 2009 had de same problem with the electrical conductors for the evap solenoid. Had to fix that along with the fuel line and evap line that goes to the purge solenoid. Thank you for the video very informative with details and pictures. Very much appreciated.

Thank you for this. Great tips on testing the canister and checking the filter. Plus it's super easy to remove and I didn't even have to lift the car. Found out my problem wasn't this thanks to your insights here.

I just removed mine to work on a fuel leak. The 10mm bolt twisted off. Fun times.

Very Good video!! Did this solve the P0446 code?? I have this code now on 2006 cobalt 2.2 ls.. How did yours turn out??

No, mine came back, but I still felt the video had some good info. Someday I'll have my buddy with a fancy $2000 meter/tester run the diagnostics on it, but it still runs fine. Can't use the remote start on the FOB with a trouble code though.

@@jct300m Use a OBD 2 to run live data or get the 20 dollar dongle off amazon and connect it to your phone. Mine showed its like -4000 pressure. I just replaced the sensor and it worked. Reading online people were saying the sensors tend to be the first to go and show a P0446 on these cars.
