- After participating in Midnight Oil’s Resist Tour, Liz Stringer and William Crighton decided to go out on the road together for a co-headline tour. And a good number of those who had seen them on The Oils’ tour took the opportunity to get to know their music better, myself included. We weren’t disappointed. It was a terrific double bill.
I knew more about William than I did Liz. I’d seen one of his Oil supports and have a couple of his albums. This was a great opportunity to see him and his band up close and in a little more depth. His was the second set and it was a captivating performance of passion and power. There was a good selection of songs from across his three albums. For an encore he was joined on stage by Liz and her band in their recently released Midnight Oil cover:

With the high cost of concert tickets being so much in the news lately, this was a night of great value for money. It was wonderful being able to see two Australian performers of such talent at the same gig. I’m hoping that William and Liz enjoyed it as much as their audiences did, and that they’ll tour together again sometime in the future.

Great tour. Saw Will & Liz at Altar here in Hobart. Would have loved to see this one with Jeff Lang guesting.
It was a clever move on both their parts to do this combined tour. Two great artists and so many terrific songs.
Had the pleasure of seeing him open for Canadian band The Dead South in 2022 here in the UK at Coventry's HMV Empire. I look forward to seeing him in the UK again, I'm keeping my eyes peeled. I know he joined the band again as their support on the Dead South's 2024 Australia/New Zealand Tour.
William is definitely great value live, whether with band or solo. I saw him earlier this year solo. He was touring here with his friend Beans on Toast. I believe they had just completed a UK tour together. Apparently, they do the join tour of both countries about once a year. Keep your eyes on Beans on Toast as well if you'd like to catch their next joint tour.

Yes, it was a great night, and unlike last time when he was in an auditorium, this was a smallish pub so I could get up close. He'll be back in England soon. His scheduled tour was postponed as he needed an operation to remove some wood from his hand. On the mend now I understand.
