I love the scene when Nora jumps on Jaune's shield. It's a reference from Volume 1 when she jumped on Pyrrha's shield in order to finish Death Stalker. Nice trick, RT.
Victoria Grey only issue is... she propelled on thin air. No gun recoil or lighting jump. It was kinda weird
@@ryanjohnson781 There is. The hole on her hammer emits a pink explosion that makes her hits stronger and propels her (you can actually execute the mechanic in the Grimm Eclipse game). At 0:53 a brief ring of pink clouds encircles Jaune it happens for a very split second only. You might miss it but the frame is there
Morris Myles Ly Not emanating from her hammer, just a jump effect, it’s one of the things RT has yet to really grow with, having a somewhat plausible reason for large spikes of momentum

Compare this to the fight scene at the start of V4, I'm really glad to see how much of an improvement the animators have made with fight choreography.

@@mariacillan9668 exactly. I LITERALLY lost interest in rwby after season 5. The fight scenes are so bad and dull and the story just got all ober the place and the humour got so dry. The show really did die with Monty

I love the little detail at 1:28 where Ruby fires her gun in midair and it makes doubles the speed of her spinning attack. Also the bit with Qrow kicking harbinger out of the ground and turning it into a spear for a bit.

I like how qrow has different fighting styles, theres the one he used on winter and tyrian and then theres the one with the scythe that is ruby's style,and this elegant like style

@Matthew Stratton you can do some pretty good stories by using tropes rights. Rwby however doesn't use them very well.
@Matthew Stratton I think what people are saying is the want ruby to stand out. Capt America is a leader too but he has more of a personality that comes with it. In the first 2 season ruby had it and in the side series but her it's like she lost all what made her cool no personality

I'm loving the fights, and I'm in love with Oscar and Jaune being good at fighting. Everyone else, minus Ren, was subpar. There's no progression in their fighting styles. I'm hoping they'll learn new fighting styles, like with Qrow's snippet.
Well let’s see going off from Vol 1 Yang still needs to get used to the arm so her fighting style is crippled a bit, Blake’s blade is broken so she was on sniper duty, Nora has improved aerial and sarcasm, Ruby managed to make a wind blade from 1 slash and her speed and fighting style is now 3D, and Weiss has diversified and strengthened her sigils.
This is the first time I’ve seen someone say ren was not subpar in a fight
I don’t think calling Qrow subpar is correct. He’s an experienced huntsman who doesn’t have much to improve on other than learn new moves as well as work with others more.
The others though are still huntsmen in training. They have much room to grow.

Choreography in terms of how it's supposed to be a teamfight wasnt amazing, I guess maybe it's because each character is pretty much strong enough now to hold their own against grimm alr. On the other hand, in terms of mechanics of how each weapon was used by the characters, it was pretty much flawless.

The sound in 1:39 - 1:40 where Ren finished slicing the Grimms (Meaty slice sound) or 1:06 at the end of Qrow's combo thou only slightly, should've been implemented more.
It only plays at certain points. But all is good so far.

I know they can’t do a lot with every character since there’s 9 of them and the fight is 2 minutes but it kinda feels like Oscar and Weiss got the short end of the stick in terms of doing things. I’d complain about Blake too but her sword is broke.
But I’m pretty sure Weiss got best assist. Her glyphs let Ren kill like four/five Grimm? Not bad.

People keep talking like season 6 had bad fight scenes. I don't get it.
People talk like they haven't seen Cinder vs Neo, Maria vs Tock or Blake and Yang vs Adam (The Adam fight was questionable but I think it was undoubtedly good choreography-wise. After all those were animations from Monty himself)
