I forgot to mention since it does default to keyboard and mouse input the left (only) stick isn't recognized as a controller rather WASD so your character movement isn't as smooth as just like on keyboard you are full walk/steer in any of the 4 directions.
I do have a question: Will you do a list of all devices that still work for Xbox because I found these attachable paddles that goes into the battery slot I don't know if they would be cheating the only one I know that could be accepted is Extreamrate by building it yourself anyway love the video also Turtle beach is coming out with a wireless Xbox controller

I tried the wired one before.
But, those two buttons in the bottom right of the track pad, ruin the range of motion, as mentioned in the video.
Plus, I would have glue that track pad from clicking down, because each swipe you have to compensate for that drop down of the track pad. It ruins any good transfer of predictable movement like on a telephone with a mobile game.
I use the Asus Rog Telephone with four buttons on the back, and the back buttons on this controller are horrible to use.
I will try this gyroscope version, modify the track pad, and put a couple Bluetooth buttons on the back to make it usable.
There is a portable track pad available that fits perfectly on top of this controller's track pad, and fixes the range of motion problem caused by the C and R buttons in bottom right.
If REWASD or Steam can not separately control the gyroscope sensitivity I will return the controller before "fixing" it. Because, the in-built sensitivity settings have three way to high, and three with acceleration. Which, is trash.
I need the gyroscope to barely move.

Absolutely love the video. I’m one of the folks who’s been begging for this review and it looks amazing. Won’t be switching off my Elite Series 2 controller, but if i ever switch to PC or get a Steam, ROG Ally, or Lenovo Legion Go handheld, this will be something to look at.

Cool way of combining a k&m experience in a handheld factor. For years I've been using the old PlayStation 3 Move controller (navigation - the left one) in combination with a mouse) work's seamless on a computer but is a tough setup on console although I haven't tried it on new gen. The move controller acts as your wasd via the joystick + you get a trigger, a dpad and 2 buttons. The move controller can be a pain to find cuz it's the first generation (not the one with the ball on top)
My man! I do the same thing when I play single player shooters/back when I played Overwatch, it's the best. Only reason I eventually switched to/learned KB is because the nav controller doesn't have enough buttons for binds in Fortnite. I've always wanted some company to make a left hand only "Pro" controller to use with a mouse, the closest/best thing I've found is the Azeron left handed Cyro with the mouse portion turned off. I've considered making a custom battle beavers controller with max left side back buttons but the cost is so high I've never pulled the trigger. One day the greatness that is the hybrid setup will get the recognition it deservers! I actually discovered/bought the controller in the video back in June, wasn't a fan but I see it as a step in the right direction. Every unique input/gaming peripheral that comes to market like this is a win. I have a vision that one day I'll be using a hybrid game controller in my left hand and a gaming.. pen in my right.. even if I have to create them myself.
Thanks for covering this. I was looking at it for pc games without controller support. I can't game with a mouse due to wrist pain and thought this might save me a little time on having to map a controller all the time. It would also be nice having the buttons on the controller line up with the on screen prompts lol.

Glad to see people realizing how much of a game changer gyro actually is.. Hopefully the next move is for most popular games to implement gyro in them, so all players have access to gyro.
Problem is that most developers are to dumb to actually use the gyro as a mouse. They probably implement it as the right stick. This gamepad only works on gaems the at support keyoard and mouse. soit can tranlate the mouse to the gyro just lik input remappers like steam can. Look at resident evil 4 remake it uses analog / rightstick gyro instead of mouse like gyor. Jibbsmart (a developer who created flick stick) says it is actually easier to program mouse input / gyro as a mouse input, then having to program complex stick aim curves (to use on the stick and the gyro). So i dont get that developers keep maing tis dumb mistake. For example the gyro controls on god of war where done by one person who was a fan of gyro aiming and he worked on controls and had the freedom to implement them. According to jibbsmart it takes one person only a full day of coding to get a decent gyro implementation in a game.
This looks promising for people coming from mobile gaming! To be competitive in FPS mobile games you need to use the touchscreen, fire with one of your left fingers, aim with the right thumb, and get a little assistance from the gyro functionality. The developers of this controller seem to understand all of that!
It would be great if this product was compatible with phones also, the way others like Flydigi have done with their peripherals for mobile gaming. That feature would make this the perfect product for me and, I believe, for many other cross-platform gamers like myself.

I almost bought this but I had not seen a wireless version when I first saw it. Also most people reviewing it were fairly new at reviewing gamepads so I was a bit skeptical. It does seem pretty cool but I ended up getting the Scuf envision pro and pairing that with my Corsair wireless dark Star mouse. So far I have been liking that setup since I can use the same software for all my bindings. I just wish that Corsair would work a bit more like steam input/overlay for controllers so I can remap the analog stick to keyboard inputs within ICUE for games that don't support controllers and for non steam games.

Something to note about the wired version is that it retains the Y/N key and the placement of the Alt and Fn key is different, Which in comparison to the wireless version may make the wired version better for different genres such as RTS games.
Also worth noting that the wired version does not have gyro, a distinction that I'm not sure was made clear in the video.
Nice review! Thak you for the link too. Hard to find in germany ^^ at least the wireless version. I played with the wired version for over a hundred hours, but mainly stuff like BG3. Because you have to rely on windows for mouse sensitivity and the trackpad resolution is not very nice on the wired version. Cant wait to get my hands on this new version!
This thing reminds me of the steam controller that valve developed for the steam machines. That thing also used track pads for aiming.

i actually got the wired version couple weeks ago. didnt use it much but seems pretty cool. would love some retrolit keys (or radioactive, idk the proper nomenclature) because i usually play Larry's Leasure Suite in the dark
I have the older wired version in pink, I'm intriged to see if they improved the track pad since the track pad can feel a little too inacurate for shooters on the wired version something the gyro should help with anway.
I'm wondering if it would be posible to swap the pink case off the wired version since it looks phycically identical
Gyro aiming is second nature to me since I’ve been playing Splatoon since 2017. I recently gave the Bigbigwon Rainbow 2SE a try because it promised gyro aiming with pc games and so far it’s been working very well, though I did have to calibrate the gyro when I first got it which was only a few seconds so no biggie. I’ve only been using it for a few hours and I’m almost as good with gyro as mouse and keyboard. It’s a lifesaver for my hands cramping up while using the keyboard. I almost got this controller but settled on something that would still work with my Switch if I wanted and matched up to a traditional controller layout (particularly with the triggers and bumpers). If they come out with another version with a better layout for the triggers I would probably give it a try as well.

I love this controller I have the original and this new wireless version. It's great for games that don't have game patch support especially older PC games, which is why I use it the most, and to navigate windows without a keyboard and mouse. I originally use the steam controller, but I have problems with it on windows because for some reason games that had support had no problems with it, but older games that didn't had suport made the steam controller freaked out and didn't registered it however, on Linux, I don't have this problem for some reason.
I'm a mouse and keyboard player but this controller looks like it would be fun to try. Maybe Microsoft should be looking at some of these ideas to add to future controllers. I like seeing people trying out ideas like this.

Heads up you can get a thumb sleeve to allow your thumb to skate smoothly across the pad. Will make aiming waay easier. Mobile gaming pros use them.
The Steam Controller did it too with its trackpads. I've still got two and I love them. They offer so much better accuracy than standard controllers.

I work full time in front of a computer. That said I've grown up a PC player but nowadays can't stand to play hunched over on keyboard, much prefer sitting on a couch with a controller. Got one of this to play CRPGs and Strategy games that I love on PC. Waiting for it to arrive, hope it works well.
I ordered an 8bitdo pro 2 special edition at the moment, not for going pro tho I will get a scuf or Xbox for going pro soon, I just wanted to try the 8bitdo as took a liking to it, although the switch controller is also sexy 😅

Does it work well on PC as a gaming keyboard and mouse? I mean if it has more imput lag or doesn't it run as smoothly as a mouse and keyboard? I have always played with a controller and I have never gotten used to playing with a mouse and keyboard and I know that the mouse and keyboard are more accurate and that is why this device would be a very good option for me since I have been playing only on pc for 2 years
Do you have to use the gyro aiming? I have the armor X pro and never really got dialed into the gyro settings. Or do you think that it’s necessary since no aim assist?

I was looking at this as a better option from a stick controller for game play. Yeah I know the steamdeackhas a track pad, but it’s teeny. I was curious if this’d be a step up in comfort from a stick controller or the Steam deck in hand as a controller. The track pad is bigger and it’s still a pad, but you have all those buttons too. I completely wrote off gyro aiming years ago. I’m an old curmudgeon; I miss BF2 and MoH:AA. But to be honest, I’m a terrible FPS player, even though I absolutely love to play them competitively.
That was until the Steam Deck. I enabled Gyro for my Wii U roms and then ended up experimenting with it in Doom and immediately felt like a dumb *** for not trying to play with it sooner.
Fast forward to present day, I have half a dozen PS5 controllers, which I use with everything because of the gyro, and I use it for every FPS on my Deck and Ally. I even supported Handheld Companion on Patreon to tweak the gyro on the Ally, prior to the recent native gyro support from Asus.
This looks unbelievably interesting; even if it looks like a Speak and Spell spinoff.

So I know towards the end of your video you said that you have not found any information on the battery life. At the time of me writing this, this video is around 2 months old. In that time, and your use of this controller, what have you found from using this? How much battery life have you gotten out of this controller on average? Also, how long does it take to charge fully?
Kind of like a Steam Controller but leaning more towards KBM than gamepad. This does seem really cool, but I don't know if I really want to go through the learning curve something like this would require.
As someone who only uses a steam controller I think this product is a step in the right direction. though it is quite funny that it has taken this long for people to realize the steam controllers way of doing things is actually very good. Such a shame valve was terrible at marketing it.

I assume the trackpad XY axis cannot be re-aligned like the Steam Controller config can to match the angle your thumb naturally makes?

I hope you can help me ouy. I bought the orginal shotpad and the gamepad works on xbox. Now i bought this one and when i try to use it on xbox the trackpad does not function correctly.
the gyro works fine and is super responsive. Did you do anything special to it? i also purchased a rebrand instead of the orginal .it is called the shotpad. When i conected it to pc both the trackpad and mouse worked just fine. Is theire a way to update the firmware? Hope you can help me out.
everything work great for me, but i have 1 problem is the vertical sensitivity of touchpad and gyro are way too high for fps game, coz in normal MOBILE game u can change the sensitivity of vertical and horizon seprate.
Here the vertical sensi have the same amount of horizon it's make the aim shaking up and down like crazy, it verry verry hard to aim the target from far away !
i try to find window app allow to reduce vertical mouse sensi input but there are none ...

Hi, man, we are collaborating with ReWASD, and there will be more features in the future, such as emulating a game controller and utilizing the aim assistance provided by games. You will be able to adjust the parameters for the joystick, touchpad, and gyroscope. I got an 8bitdo ultimate bluetooth controller to use the gyro function on PC. Aiming with the Steam controller is so much better than with a controller with sticks.

The concept is good, but the layout is dogshit. So many things are just out of normal reach, it's an HTPC remote, it's laid out as such, every shortcoming of the layout can be explained as such, yet it was slapped with some gamer marketing for who knows what ungodly reason, the layout is just quite literally not made for actual gaming, not to mention it's actually a KBM replacement and not an actual controller and thus it's an HTPC remote. Dpad with a ring of buttons and an adjacent stick, a trackpad with adjacent buttons and a scroll wheel that're awkward to get at without a massive change in hand posture, the strange asymmetric shoulders and rear, just the variety of button shapes itself, it's all explainable by being a casual use remote akin to all of those mini keyboards made for HTPCs and Raspberry Pi boxes, and it is entirely unoptimized for gaming use. One of the biggest issues is going to be that asymmetric grip the manufacturer recommends, that's going to get uncomfortable as hell, and that's asking for RSI more than your typical controller will cause, it's just an unergonomic mess with a bad layout on top of that. Now if they made a v2 that has a proper, fully usable layout, it wouldn't be a bad product, but everything on the GTP01/ShotPad is just not the best and hardly usable as a controller, especially as a KBM alternative rather than a simpler controller. Valve did it correctly with the original Steam Controller (and look at what that has evolved into, Valve-HTC Vive, Steam Deck, Index), which was way ahead of its time, though I do also have ergonomic and layout complaints about it (mostly the ABXY and handle molding, it digs into the inside of my finger joints when I use the buttons), but the SC style of what is otherwise an actual controller is what touchpad controllers should be like, not a glorified HTPC remote; now if only the console side of things would support such an option. Personally I don't like how these are categorized with KBM, because they're really not, and while a trackpad can be finessed a bit more than an analog stick, it's still leagues under what a mouse can do, thus IMO they tend towards the controller side of the line; now with more button inputs than a typical controller and a scroll wheel, maybe, but the consoles could also just adapt to a wider feature set, and honestly with the amount of games that benefit from a scroll wheel why do we not see it on controllers as an option, why do we rarely see more than just 2/4 back buttons slapped onto a standard controller, consoles really need to evolve what they're allowing on controllers to better suit a fuller potential. The newer wireless variant is also the only one with gyro, the wired one didn't have it, and the addition of gyro just feels like a bandaid to improve functionality on a bad layout. I just hope a v2 is more in-line with an actual controller and not a remote, good ergonomics and layout are possible on this type of device, but v1 just has a mismatch of actual use and what it's marketed as; it's a neat device, but it really is just an HTPC remote that's marketed as a controller, it wouldn't be bad as a casual use remote but as a controller it has too many downsides around its layout and ergonomics.
I'm also surprised by seeing Ifyoo and not DarkWalker, considering DW seems to be the Western presence of the brands, and I don't think it's white-labeling as there'd be even more clones if it was.
