I would have sure bought the X if I hadn't already purchased the original one. I tend to always try to include it but in this case it’s likely not going to be the final result and most people probably didn’t as the only things in there were the device and charger 😅
Compared with ROG Ally when it was first released, ROG ROG Ally X has several amazing improvements as follows: 1. The SSD capacity is increased and replaced with a 1TB capacity SSD. 2. The battery capacity is doubled, and it is basically no problem to play games continuously for 2.5~3 hours. 3. With the improvement of the driver and the improvement of the cooling system, when using 29~30w full power for gaming, the temperature is about 69~73 degrees Celsius. You don’t have to worry about the memory card when using an industrial-grade microSD memory card that can withstand 85 degrees Celsius temperatures. 4. The durability of the rocker rotation is increased from 2.5 million times to 5 million times, and it has a stronger spring.
Once the embargo is up, can you please test the default sleep/resume functionality? I'm curious to know if it's been improved compared to the original Ally.

@@nathanjuan6042 exactly and the memory is much faster, and the solid-state memory is the full 2280 drive. So theoretically you could put up to eight gigs of storage if you wanted too 🔥🌶️
It is a dealbreaker for me that it is no longer white. So please rog, make a white verson!
From the chat I had with them prior to launch, the majority of people wanted a black version over a white one so I doubt we’ll see the white come back
@@SpuddGaming 😔
@@SpuddGaming what if we start a petition😂
You can always get a white skin for it
Just get an original ally lol
This ROG ally X is on my wishlist definitely gotta invest :]
Hope Asus and MSi listening get ready to mass produce 8TB 2280 m.2 . I Upgrade asap after get the new model. ❤❤❤❤❤
Will the battery can compete with steam deck oled?
The armory crate buttons need to be moved down. I accidentally hit them all the time.
You have ninja turtle fingers
@@firstclaims30 Yep. The ladies love em. Or I just accidentally aim for the wrong button. The armory crate buttons could be easily moved, still on the front face of the machine. Didn’t realize some people would take it personally.
Considering this is the most in-depth video of the ally x on youtube so far, I think this video might be breakin some rules on what you were allowed to show/talk about
No, we’re allowed to talk about features, specs and general thoughts but no performance graphs, FPS counts etc
@@SpuddGaming ah ok, wasn't quite sure since no other videos showed the unboxing process from what I found
I tend to always try to include it but in this case it’s likely not going to be the final result and most people probably didn’t as the only things in there were the device and charger 😅
Damn! Wish i have one
i too like the original white color
Compared with ROG Ally when it was first released, ROG ROG Ally X has several amazing improvements as follows:
You won't need to wait long. New OLED windows handle on its way
Hello supdd i would appreciate if u reply this comment.can u tell me ur ikea desk name pls.
Once the embargo is up, can you please test the default sleep/resume functionality? I'm curious to know if it's been improved compared to the original Ally.
In Australia, this is selling for $1500 AUD. I can get a decent 4060 or used 4070 laptop for the same price
Dude it is discounted in JB-Hi-fi by $200. It is $1000.
I'm with you, the console in white looks much better.
I wanted white but this is beautiful.
Everything I want but bigger screen ❤
The bigger the screen the more bigger the handheld, if it is too big, then it won’t fit in some places
@Cannot_go_anywhere I owned the Asus rod ally Z1 already. It could be better 8 inch and MSI claw 8 inch might consider.
@@ModernGeekReview But if both of these screens are 1080p, and they make larger, then pixels will be more noticeable meaning that they would also have higher the resolution, but that would mean a higher cost
@Cannot_go_anywhere They don't need to charge more 1080p is very standard for today. 8 inch true view would be awesome.. since it windows 11 os aka desktop too.
@@ModernGeekReview I don’t think you understand, if they make the screen larger, the pixels would be larger and more visible, the issue with this is that seeing a player from far away would be hard because they would be very pixelated. But, to support you, they can make an 8 inch screen but with fsr on quality mode, making it easier to see and a more sharper picture even with only 1080p.
Mines being customized in red
we need an fps comparison
Not allowed to show any benchmarks yet as it’s an early review unit
Not really worth the upgrade
The m.2 you can install a 2280 factory with an adapter
The battery you can counter that with a portable battery
The temperature you can counter that with a good fan curve setup
Same apu and same cpu same screen
If you have the original ally, just get it for half the price of this one on Best Buy open box
I've seen them going for 378 usd
Damm that looks so Cool 🔥😎
I hope Lenovo is taking notes on the Ram size! Need at least 24gb on the LeGo 2
Just got the original ROG ally Z1 Extreme for $300
Awesome!
Yeah, considering it lauched at around $900 where I live 😬
Where and how?
@zZiL341yRj736 in germany, u can find z1 extreme one for 350 - 400 euros easily
Paid 225 usd for my z1 extreme. Was used but you wouldn't know it, 10 / 10 condition, no dirt or scratches. Also came with a carry case
Esa consola por table es mejor que una consola tradicional pero eso si para jugar con más amigos y más cosas adicionales, la consola sigue ganando.
Most anticipeted ? what ? ? ? XD
If Xbox doesn’t announce anything I’ll grab this next month with a kill switch case.
State of the art but probably a little more complex to use than a steamdeck. 👍🙌
Trust me the ally is as easy as it gets. The steamdeck is horrible with anything outside of steam. You won’t have this problem with a windows device
@@firstclaims30 im 75, I use an old mac and don't know anything about computers. I need something to plug&play.
The steamdeck might be better for you then. As long as you don’t leave the steam eco you should be fine and easy enough.
needs bigger/ better screen
It’s way too much I love the steam deck but this handheld looks ok love the black color but it cost way too much I think I will wait for it to go down low but it’s looking really nice
Very nice video, thanks
It is cool but realistically I will just play on PC or mobile games on my phone
That’s fair
Im surprised anyone trusts ASUS
While i understand the situation, i prefer asus over other brands. They juat deliver most the time. I have lots of asus products and never faced an issue. Plus when i buy, i just go for my store warranty so i dint deal with asus rma anyways.
Im surprised to find another simp that has no fking idea what they're talking about
Yikes, im surprised another simp that has no fki!n idea what they're talking about.
I trust no company and as long as I can mod the device I can fix it if needed.
It's the same thing every other computer company does. If you're worried about the customer service, use a credit card that has an extra, independent warranty attached to it.
Nah I’ll stick to deck oled.
All I wanted was slimmer bezels…
Hot take 7-7.5” is a sweet spot for HANDHELD gaming devices. Anything more is entering tablet range. Also HUGE shoutout to the speakers in these devices. They are absolutely insane. Seriously, I want over the ear headphones and a soundbar of the same quality lol.
So your preferences are "law"??? 😅😅😅
@@shaolin95 Huh?
not at that price.
So, this is not a review?
Yes it is, it’s a review of everything except for benchmark numbers and figures
It is better in every way. Just because its not in white, doesnt make it less perfect. Your biased opinion doesnt matter. If you like your whites to go yellow over time, no one's going to debate with you. It's your preference. EVERYBODY else likes it in black. You don't have to remind everyone of your biased opinion, since facts overweigh opinions.
Bro typed out an entire paragraph about the colour choice 🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀
What a beauty
Except customer service is garbage 🤷
People are gross, clean your handheld regardless the color
Fucked up they still dont give a real stand or case.
Hmm I’m loyal to the deck
see that's what i want
Why handheld industry is going too fast, it's becoming boooooring now!!!
No xgm port so no go for me
The design is not that much cool that has to be only the changes and the battery they should have taken on the screen like the Legion go however legion go more better than these device
Wow can i have it!
5-20 years old games about 40% of them are not working because of new microsoft bullshit rules to block old security systems and lots of problems, which require NVIDIA PhysX. Hardware could be good, but software is awful
