Shams is incredible man. Wild to think that every sentence he says is most likely edited in his head. The fact he's sitting on so much information, in different shades of fact or fiction, that the average person doesn't know, and he balances all that to give you just enough, but never too much. And that he's so fluent and confident when doing it. Dude is incredible
Kennys come up has been so inspiring. Has one of the most important sport reporters in the world saying he’s the future of sports media. Shoutout to KOT4Q for carving a path for anyone to make it in the industry.
I’m sure if Kenny plans to do in studio stuff for his solo pod going forward then he’ll get his own set/furniture for it. Like he said, this is his first in person interview for this pod and the only space he had for it is the Numbers on the Board set.
I’m a business major. I have been struggling with the whole networking, rejection aspect. Shams really opened my mind to it and how I can be better at it. ☝🏽🙏🏽
I’m in the bathroom at tutoring rn so imma have to watch this when I get home but I saw the notification, your an inspiration man congrats on getting this deep!
I'm 57 years old but I was a pretty good high school basketball player though I'm only 6 ft tall. I used to play in a gym in Houston when I was probably 19 and we had some NBA players or almost NBA players come through. I'm old so I can't remember the guys names all that well but there was a kid out of Louisville from the Houston area who I actually had to guard in a 3 on 3 and that was just ridiculous. Dude lit me up really bad also would be playing sometimes when the Houston Cougars players would sometimes be using the gym. Not Hakeem olajuwon but some of the other guys from Phi Slamma Jamma like Larry Micheaux and Michael Young. I wish I could remember the Louisville player because he was one of the top players in the NCAA that year or the next year. I was like Shams because all I could really do was pass the ball and hit wide open shots. I was good enough so that if my team lost I sometimes did get picked to play with another team to get back on the court. I kind of wish I had stayed playing pickup basketball over the years but I stopped at around 23 or 24 and I probably haven't even shot a basketball in the last 15 years. Cool memories though.😊
Bro I was thinking about it and I think the next step for him is getting the rights to show footage in his videos like pat mcafee did before they went to espn. They already are big enough to interview most players in the league outside the top of the top (even tho they did interview curry), they are known by people around ball (JJ, Shaq, Shams), and they’re already partnered with espn. Eventually the league should recognize what they’re doing and give them footage rights if they know what they’re doing. Like they’re already associated with espn. If espn signed them fully, they would already have rights to footage. But then again idk if JJ even has rights to footage on his show.
If it's allstar and you have missed nearly 20 games already, you should not be all NBA or MVP. It sucks that you have to make 65, but that's just life. If you don't show up for work half the year, you aren't gonna get a yearly bonus. Fans pay hard earned money for expensive tickets and then their guy isn't on the court. That wastes everyone's money in the entire stadium. NBA is a business and you need to play
I think that San Antonio should be going after Tyus Jones. They would be so much better with a competent point guard. It feels like they want to do it in the draft but Popovich is old AF and probably has a 3-year window. Getting a good point now and seeing how it works for the rest of the season before the draft would be a smart move for that team. I'm starting to think that they're not going to do anything though. Also the Dallas Mavericks definitely need to make a move or they're going to be stuck right in the middle of the west. They probably can't win it all even with an amazing move but they might be able to win a playoff series or maybe two if they get the right guy. They need much better forward play. Some defense as well.
100 % Zach LaVine is taking that player option. I think it's going to be almost impossible to find a trade partner with that kind of money for a one way player. The Bulls paid too much and now they're going to be stuck with the guy. It all fell apart when Lonzo went down but that's not the Bull's fault
Jordon averaged 80 games per Season. All the Top Stars averaged no less than 75. Your getting paid to play. Fans pay outlandish prices for tickets up to 1200 for a family of 4. For a Star to sit with no injuries is not fair to them
As a fan I have no problem with the 65 game minimum. Players were getting too comfortable with the load management. Ultimately robbing the fans who pay hard earned money to see them. The average fan is saving money just to be able to afford to take their family to a game. Ticket prices and concessions are through the roof. Make them do their job.
Gotta be available to win mvp. Embiid is all time great and probably when healthy is possibly the best player in the league. But to be most valuable you gotta be available. Thats most valuable. Players are allowed to miss 20% of the season. 1/5 of the season. It's a good rule. It almost rather it be tighter
Is it just me or does it feel weird that Kenny bring hella guests to his pod but not many to the one with the boys. Idk what goes on behind closed doors but just something I’ve noticed since the beginning of this pod.
Sooo, there wasn't a question of which teams are most likely to make a trade (with Shams as the headline says or with other teams 😂) but just questions of if some hyped up teams (Lakers etc) would make trades or not. Just telling others that you can save your time if you neither are fan of "the big" teams 😃
Please shift the background poster down slightly it‘s not completely centered and idk it‘s kinda bothering me😭 Amazing show tho I love the dynamic keep going kenny
#ASKKB My opinion that would make the all star game more competitive and could be a solution to add more players to all star weekend. Have 4 all star teams of maybe 7-8 players per team, and have a round robin comp of shorter games and then make it that the best teams from the round robins play in the final game. Could have more charities represented and would be a good way to make the games more competitive! Sorta like what they do for rising stars! Do you have any thoughts? I’d love to hear!
After really thinking about it, it really sucks that embiid also won't make all-nba with the rule. I know we shouldn't cherry pick his eligibilty for certain awards, and I'm glad luka has a shot at the mvp he deserves (I'm a mavs fan), but you can't tell me embiid isn't deserving of an all-nba spot, positionless or not
I really want the Lakers to bring Caruso back home and get Clint Capela so AD can get back to running the 4. And a light pickup in shooter Jordan Nwora off the bench. Don’t know how we do it but a man can hope
The 65 game talk is just a media cover up. The media called Joel Embiid a coward for a whole week. When they discovered he was actually hurt, they didn't want to apologize so they switched the talk to this 65 game rule. All the media did was control the narrative and avoid taking back what they said for a week. Joel played injured in that game because his pride was hurt; he didn't play to try and reach 65. Joel says he hears everything and he definitely heard all the media talk about ducking.
I have no doubt guys like Shams and WOJ worked hard to be where they’re at but they are also the chosen ones. Their careers are made because the industry chose them for whatever reason.
#AskKB We all know you're a Bulls fan through and through. From everything I've seen on your different platforms, every time you watch a game between two non-Bulls teams or talk about non-Bulls players, you always say something along the lines of 'I don't care who wins'. I wanted to ask if you ever liked or gravitated toward a team or a player (both now and all time) more than others that have nothing to do with the Bulls?
We've heard all of the same names over and over again over the last couple of weeks and some of those guys are looking like they are too difficult to trade because of financial reasons or because the teams looking to get them don't have what it takes to put together a package. Some teams just seem like they're kinda stuck with what they got and I'm thinking specifically of the Lakers and the Warriors because they haven't done well with their draft stock over the last few years. With all that being said I think this could end up being one of the slower free agency deadlines. I think it's going to be a lot of Spencer Dinwiddie kind of guys and not so much Zach LaVine kind of guys and maybe even not a lot of anybody kind of guys. When you look through the NBA it seems like there's either a lot of veteran teams that don't have the stuff to make the trades or some young teams that want to see how it's going to play out with the core that they have. Obviously there's quite a few exceptions and those will probably be the teams making trades and I'm thinking of teams like the 76ers who have to stay relevant in an Eastern conference that's getting much better at the top end.
I don’t think this is supposed to be up right now but Imma watch it
