You are such an amazing dad!!
I loved your commentary, as always witty and completely hilarious. Great trip! Also - your daughter is adorable.

She did great, especially on some steep slippery terrain. We had wanted to try something in the Pemi but couldn't make it work schedule-wise. Hopefully something in the fall!

I love it when we find things to do with our children that we both enjoy. Ezri may not realize it now but these will be special memories decades from now. Kudos to both of you!

Thanks John, now I just need to get her sleeping in a hammock and we'll be good!

Great video as always! So wonderful you and your daughter can share that adventure together. I’m still holding out hope that one of my daughters will catch the bug! Also love the Tadej references!

Haha, we became obsessed with the Tour de France in short order. She's not super into hiking but it seems like her interest in the NH48 is on the upswing so hopefully there are more trips in our future.

Seems like you both had a great hike! I need to bump the Kinsmans up my list, looks absolutely beautiful. I've been getting my 9-year-old into it. We have done Mt. Madison, Mt. Monadnock, and just last week Mt. Chocorua. After Mt. Chocorua she asked our next one to be a bit more mellow. I think something like this would be a nice change of pace.

It's a nice hike but don't underestimate Fishin' Jimmy or Kinsman Pond Trail. They both could be tough on little legs. There's always Waumbek or Pierce for extra mellow ones.

That broken bridge is where the AT used to cross Cascade Brook. It was washed out and rebuilt several times until they gave up on it and rerouted the AT to a spot where rock hopping is easier.

That makes sense - I was thinking the water crossings would be really difficult in high water.

Great adventure! Looking forward to do this with my kids too! Cool that there are platforms at camp locations, but as a Swede I still find it strange you guys need to pay for it 🙃

Yeah, it's primarily because the Whites are so popular so a caretaker is necessary to maintain outhouses and the like. But elsewise you're free to hike 1/4 mile away and camp wherever you like.

I agree with that assessment 12:23 I lot of that looked familiar! But I’m glad you got to South Peak and didn’t run out of daylight like a certain someone 😅

I was thinking of you on this trip. There was a woman hiking the AT who hurt her ankle up between the Kinsmans and had to make her way down to the pond. Not a great area for getting injured!

@@RhodySeth it's sketchy on those rocks for sure, especially wet!! And you know I hate wet rocks with a severe passion. Glad you guys made it safe!

    "I'm a wood duck" 😂
The Cascade Brook trail is right up there with Beaver Brook to rival the most gorgeous in the Whites

I bet the first 1.5 miles of Cascade Brook is lovely - that's the only section I still need to complete now. Basin Cascade Trail really blew me away - and you definitely get all kinds on that trail since it starts at the Basin, haha.

She seems to be getting interested in working on her NH48 so that's a good thing!
