AWSOME camera work and picking out the music which compliments the videos you make. Not everybody has this talent. New Hampshire is my go to happy place! God bless.
Wife and I have lived quite a few places. Most recently Maine and now Idaho. Have been over Most of the country and one thing for sure, we are blessed in this beautiful country we live in. I've been to all the lower 48 and haven't seen any that didn't have places that simply amaze the soul.
I didn’t see the “notch” in your video; did I miss it. I remember seeing it when I was there back in the ‘80’s. Sorry to hear about the Old Man in the Mountain. The Flume and the water falls were very pretty scenes; enjoyed that! Thanks, Ram 👍🏼👍🏾
@@laughingram7287 the notch is just the mountain pass, as most areas in the country call them. In the Southeast they're "gaps". In New Hampshire they're "notches".
I seemed to remember one pass that looked like someone had cut it with an axe on both sides and I guess at that time I had assumed that it was “the notch”.
If you are in the Wolfeboro area before Saturday, we can give you a boat ride on Lake Winnipesaukee in our wooden boat. We have been watching your show for years and you are right around the corner from us.
Ooh! That would've been wonderful. Sorry that we missed you. However, we're now down in Connecticut for our videos lag real-time by about three weeks presently. Thanks for the offer!
This area was always our weekend get away from tourist trap Cape Cod. We always pulled our camper to Lost River Valley Camp ground. Thank you for this video.
I was in New Hampshire 1 week before you made your trip there as I saw in your description, the weather didn't cooperate with me on my trip, but I always enjoy New Hampshire no matter what, glad you enjoyed your time there.
I was waiting for the shots of mount washington hotel. I have some beautiful pic summer winter and especially fall. Living out west now, just goes to show the spoils of this beautiful contenent
Absolutely. There is beauty to be found almost anywhere. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find it. Mt. Washington, the Presidentials in general and even the iconic Mt. Washington Hotel are all beautiful, too. We just decided to stick to the western Whites this episode.
Indeed they are, Kurt. But what makes it special are the subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) differences between them. Mountain topography in the Northeast is SOOOO green compared with what we western residents are used to! And even within the area there are subtle differences. Vermont's Green Mountains are more rolling and gentle, whereas New Hampshire's Whites are a little bit more jagged at times.
Hi Marc. You have just brought back many happy memories of NH. My Dad lived there for many years. North Conway and the surrounding areas was his and our favourite places to visit. He loved driving the Kanc. Sadly Dad is no longer with us but the memories never fade. Many Thanks Phil & Juliet UK.🙂👍
Wow... that level of bucolic could make someone a bucaholic! 🤣🙄 This is a really gorgeous place to visit. It deserved another week because of the weather. But reservations must be met... And that hike up the Flume mountain gorge with live water was really fabulous. Just stunning, regardless of the price. I also liked the other hike up Artists Bluff and Bald Mountain. Thanks for taking us along through all your hard work, Marc. Gord
We spent 5 1/2 months in the summer of 2022 volunteering for the NFS in the Whites. One of our favorite places, and we still learned a couple things from ya! Awesome video! The Flume Gorge is incredible but if it's too pricy or too crowded, Sabaday Falls on the Kancgamangus Hwy between the pass and Conway is the same geologically and free. You would need an interagency pass or a WMNF pass for parking. The hiking in the Whites is world class. Did you have the maple ice cream at your campground? OMG!! yum!
We got a few pints while we were there -- black raspberry, and another that I cannot exactly recall. We nearly made it to Sabaday Falls, too, but simply ran out of time.
Well, in the interest of full disclosure Bradan we didn't go up Cannon this time. We went up Bald Mountain across the road, and the earlier shots from years ago hiking the Franconia Ridge were on Mt. Lafayette. Oddly, although I've been atop Cannon many times in winter, I've never been to the Cannon summit in summer. And it's true, very often it's socked in.
I see you know where to get the best in food and beverage while in Woodstock! We have been going there for over 40 years. It is now a couple hour ride to get there these days.
Spectacular capture of this beautiful area. Through your lens makes us want to revisit. Thank you for sharing and bringing us along. Stilled amazed at how you put these episodes together each week with the amount of work, research and time involved. We’re so appreciative. ❤
The state is so beautiful they kank, the flume and lost river, but I’m biased. I was born here and lived here my whole life. The thing I love most about the state is it’s people!!
Indeed, good people in northern New England. I used to be on a ski patrol mostly with folks from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. They'd give you the shirt right off their back if you needed it.
Well you guys finally made it to my neck of the woods. Moved from eastern long island New York to the White Mountain Region a year ago and truly love it. Glad you enjoyed yourself here and thanks for some great highlights of the area! God Bless:)
As I get close to retirement, I’m trying to figure where I want to settle down. After spending 20+ years on the west coast in California, I think the east coast is calling me back. New Hampshire sure looks nice. Being from Connecticut, I spent a lot time in Vermont. Looking for a quiet place to live out my golden years.
Being from Connecticut myself, this swing through the NE has reminded me of all of the reasons that I left. The Northeast certainly has its charms, but I couldn't deal with the traffic and congestion anymore.
We have camped some, but not near enough in New Hampshire. Beautiful state. Looking forward to your next adventure... Cape Cod is beautiful. Plymouth rock... hmmm.... well it is a little rock I guess. The history is amazing, the rock well not so much....Not Perce Rock lets just say. Looking forward to your adventure there nonetheless.

Especially when there's so much else to draw you to that area. New Hampshire is an odd bird. Our initial plan had been to spend the week along Lake Winnipesaukee, but I was shocked to discover how few lakefront camping opportunities there are.
