  • This soup was sooo good! I got so excited when I had the chance to go to a #bucees - I went to the one in Daytona and they have so many jerky's but this venison sausage got me inspired!! I had to make something with it and thought soup! But not just any soup - Venison Sausage Cabbage Soup!! And this was really easy to make. Best part is you can add whatever vegetables you want and proteins.

    Here's what you need:
    Head of cabbage
    1lb of Venison Sausage or any protein
    2 onions roughly chopped
    2 potatoes chopped
    5 medium carrots chopped
    4-5 pieces of Yuca
    3-4 celery stalks chopped
    14.5oz can of stewed tomatoes
    8 cups chicken broth
    3-4 cloves of garlic minced
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 tsp thyme
    1/2 tsp roasted garlic powder
    1/2 tsp Mexican oregano
    1/2 tsp paprika - of course!
    Instructions:
    -Heat large pot - I used a 6qt Lodge Dutch Oven
    -add oil and then the onions cook til almost translucent
    -add the garlic and cook until fragrant
    -add the sausage and cook down for about 3-5 minutes
    -add the chicken broth
    -add all the seasonings in and stir
    -add all the veggies and stir in well and simmer until cabbage wilts
    -then cover it and let simmer for 45 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender
    - finally ladle into a big ol' bowl and enjoy!
    Make some crusty bread to dip into the soup!
