  • Bart Ehrman has convinced more people to reject the Christian faith than almost anyone alive today. But he has done so largely through being very misleading. I'm going to provide some solid examples of this as it relates to the crucifixion of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark because I think there is a lot of benefit in dealing with misleading claims about the Bible. I'm doing a lot of apologetics related stuff here at the end of this series on the Gospel of Mark and I hope you find it faith building and inspiring!

The two thieves on the cross both mock Jesus in one witness but then in Luke one thief asks Jesus to remember him. It is quite possible that over the space of the three hours together that one man repented of his mockery and recognized who Jesus is.

I NEVER interpreted Jesus' silence as shock

As a law enforcement officer, I can attest that most incidents requiring written reports involves more than one responding officer, sometimes several officers. Each officer is required to submit a written report detailing the who, what, when, were, why, actions taken, and their individual actions taken. All reports will refer to the same incident, but all reports will contain different details as seen, heard, and witnessed by the responding officers. Same goes for the writers of MML&J.

Jesus was not in shock but I am in a shock to see how he came to such a ‘shocking’ conclusion! Can’t take his work seriously anymore.

  • @highlandbackrub4736

You just let Bart off the hook for spouting opinion/assumption as fact. Silence implying shock is a FALLACY Mike. We don’t need to defend his conclusion when his premise is built on opinion.

Isn't it interesting that when Mike discusses Mark 10:45, the sub-heading below the passage is "Bartimaeus Receives his Sight." That's my prayer for Bart Ehrman.

Hey Mike, have you seen Bart Ehrman's response on Paulogia's channel? I think he showed how you misunderstood him (and thus mislead your audience, unfortunately).

Ehrman is obviously making an argument from silence. It never fails to amaze me that so many people think that silences makes

If more churches taught like this instead of treating Christianity like a fairytale, we would be able to easily debunk Bart’s claims.

    Well done, sir.

Amazing work! I came to this video via Bart Erhman’s response video, and his response was laughably unsubstantial. It was honestly frustrating to listen to because of it’s total lack of valid points. Thank you for standing up for truth!

I do not care what anyone says about my Jesus; no one can turn my heart away from my God because I know he is alive; I have seen him, and he healed me when I was near death

LUVVVVed this video. I pray that you continue to provide common sense-reasons to learn how to think Biblically. I appreciate how you don't get 'wordy' but explain every angle in terms we can comprehend. I luuuvvvv it! Tha k you for your hard work, Pastor Mike. 🙂

I lost my way to skepticism and life experiences, Bart didn’t help. Lol. I hit rock bottom and had no choice but to ask for God for mercy and grace. I’ve been praying for my doubts of Jesus and the Bible. Today I was fasting and came across this which cleared up some of my confusions. I’ll keep searching. God is good :)

Bart knows “Why have you forsaken me” is a crucial line for the messiahs fulfillment of prophecy. He’s completely full of it.
