its really surprising how far concrete products have come in the last 15 yrs or so, im awe struck by how REAL this looks, i would swear you were a carpenter too. its a very lovely look if you just "trust the process" as she said ...
I’m so excited to do this my patio! Excellent tutorial!! This might be a silly question, but what do you do with any extra base coat and texture coat? How do you dispose of it? Also, can you do different colors for the stain? Thank you!!
Great question, it’s ok to throw it away just mix it with water and let it harden in a trash bag first. We have 10 colors that can be mixed together or layered for different looks, join our Facebook group designcrete diyers club for color recipes and tips too
Yes it’s called fiber tape, it tends to look more like tile that way because the lines are too thick and trust me it’s not easier. You can still use the tape method with our products but there’s a learning curve
I prolly would have soaked the concrete with a hose again while your waiting the 5 min fir material to slack.....a slab can soak up alot of water very quickly, especially in the heat Very cool idea though

@@designcretediy I will definitely do that! Thank you for the response!
Okay, the guy is good and knows his stuff, but he's not as fast as his sister putting down the planks. She pulled away at the end there lol 😆
It helps, if you're slow, to put the bucket in the shade, or put something on top of it to keep the direct sunlight out of it.
Yes! Great tip
Hi ,any feedback on durability in northern climates ie: snow, salt .

Thank you!
Would love to see one with the look of pavers.
Definitely, we will be making that video around April
Wouldnt it be easier for you to mix the textuer coat with the color /stain dyein te same bucket? ?
The tint pack needs to be mixed with water before adding the diy texture but yes you can use the same bucket
Don't they sell the special tape for marking all your lines before the texture coat.. wouldn't that be easier?

@designcretediy I take your word for it, and yeah, I don't want it to look like tile.. thank you for your feedback
If the siding is 8 inches why not cut on both sides of the straight edge before moving the straight edge .
You can only do that on the first one
Do you guys offer contractor pricing?
Yes if you order in bulk it’s much less bc of freight shipping.
Wow!
Thanks!!
Why does no one show the finished product after it’s done & dried ? 🤷🏼♀️
The finished product is in this intro and there’s more on our Facebook group designcretediyersclub

Great point!
When cutting out your “end boards”…
Use a square.
Yeah we didn’t have one that day
@@designcretediy an actual square is not necessary simply use end of the boards you used would of workers just fine…
Or anything with a right angle.
Website does not load
Www.designcretediy.com
It may have been down for maintenance maybe?
I guess I’ll get the carbide tool somewhere else every video u say it’s on the website. It’s not 😒
We just redesigned the website and the tools will be back up soon, you can find the tool at Home Depot in the tile section too 👍
Knee pads
I agree
big hassle , looks like.
Really? We did the entire project in one day
Or you're just lazy
