    I view all your videos. I’ve learned a lot from you. I’ve been hunting AR flooded public timber for 38 years. I switched to Sitka last year. As an older hunter I was, like, this is the gear for the young boys! I was a bottomland camo guy! Until, I got my first Sitka duck oven jacket! It was a game changer! Light, breathable, and very warm. Now, I’ve went full blown Sitka. Yes it is expensive, but I will be able to stay dry and warm! It’s worth the investment!!! Thank you for your content!

    I bought SITKA gear back in 2013, I bought the merino base layer, mid weight zip tee, timberline pants and the cloudburst tips and bottoms. I still have all of it and use it every year. Definitely worth it. My one complaint is the merino, it’s itchy. The KUIU 145 merino baselayers are softer and not itchy, plus the pants have side zips for easy off and on.

    Totally agree on Sitka; saw you were rocking the Dakota Hoody! I own that and the Dakota Jacket, but MISSED THE HOOD, so I just had a tailor install a full zipper in the hoody and now have the best of both worlds (highly recommended !). I do not own the chest waders; mainly price but also where I hunt there is no need unless you have to cross a drainage ditch, and that's what dogs are for. As far as the bibs go, I'd recommend going up 1 size than normal; more room for getting into your underneath pockets and bending.

    Sitka for life. I have the Fanatic set, Equinox set, Stratus pants and vest, Celsius jacket, Core mid weight set, Core T shirt, Merino gloves, Fanatic gloves, Grinder hoodie, and heavy weight balaclava. I regret nothing.

    I couldn't agree with you more. I've tried a number of other well known brands and in the end you end up spending more as the products don't last. Pricey, but well worth the investment if you know this is a lifestyle choice for you. Great video.

    Both Sitka and KUIU are expensive but worth it . When you step up to the top level gear , you expect comfort in any situation with both brand you get that .. Both lifetime warranty and back their products .. I own both and love both .. Sitka is great .. just like simms and waders the best but it cost ya .. if your a guide or outfitter sign up on their sites , you’ll be happy you did .. makes it affordable ..

    I’m a Realtree guy as far as camo goes, but was looking for something for cold weather. I like nomad, so might go with that.
    EDIT: I now own Sitka and will continue to buy more. This stuff is awesome. Took me a while to make a decision on it, but I finally did and I’m glad I went with it!

    Would love a comparison video between Sitka & Arc’teryx. I understand Sitka is primarily for hunting but I’ve also read reviews from customers who’ve purchased Arc gear for hunting too. Personally, I’m an Arc’teryx guy myself (mostly for military & day-to-day winter gear). Arc’teryx vs. Sitka - let’s see those comparisons!

    Late to the video, which was very informative. I cannot tell you how impressed I am witht he Sitka clothing. I have the ambient jacket, their windproof jacket, and their pile windstopper whitetail system they have. It is a little "Tailored" to fit, so order a size up if in question. Having said that they fit great, are very warm, durable to stickers and briars, do not shrink in the wash, and is not made in CHINA like their competetors. Great clothing, I wish they would come out with different patterns like First Lite. This stupp is the most functional hunting clothing out there. Like an old Wichester lever or 30-06 of the 50's and 60's, this clothing is the one to buy with what is offered on the market. My only gripe is that I wish their jackets were a little longer, they ride up when you reach up and I wish they had more items that were merino underlayers. Those Vets and military folks, can sign up for professional rebate and get 20% off all the time.

    I just checked some prices online, but this stuff really isn't that expensive...
    269 dollars for a very good jacket is really cheap actually.
    Here in Europe we easily pay 450/500 Euros for a Harkila jacket and 300 euro for a pair of pants.... wich is 650 and 400 dollars (approx.)

    I wear Sitka because of the patterns I have 2 patterns in 2 sets for Texas. Light weight and breathable for summer and the moderate for winter. It gets around 30-40 around here so I guess I’m lucky. I have the grey/tan for winter and the slightly greener for Summer and it is top notch gear that breaks up your outline perfectly imo

      Oh I forgot to ask, which hoody is that? I plan to get one to go under my delta jacket. There is the gradient and dakota. Both seem about the same minus the gortex so im not sure whether to spend the extra. I mean I will have the delta on most times which blocks wind. Anyway just wondering. Thanks!

    but for real, you nailed the sizing statement.. it seems camo manufactures assumes everyone is a overweight midget when coming up with sizes.. im 6,3 220lbs and nothing aside from sitka and under armour fit me. its almost like they assume when wearing cheap camo you going to have 75 layers under it to take up the space

  • @noahtheis7004

    Save some money and buy Cabelas MTO50. It may not have that cool factor but it just works. And this is coming from somebody that uses both. The incinerator is a very warm down/gore-Tex parka but it’s so tight in the arms that you can’t layer underneath it.

    Thanks for the good review, BobbyGF. Do you dig the funky new fangled camo patterns? I'll admit, I'm a fan of the cattail/cornstalk pattern that the Realtree MAX line offers, but I'm definitely into expanding my horizons. We didn't have any fancy camo back in the 1980s when I was a little kid learning from Dad and we still killed plenty of duckers and goosers, so I think a good and proper hide is the most important, but wonder what your thoughts are on the patterns blending in when you're not in a blind. What say you mister man? Cheers from CO Front Range!

      One of the first camp patterns was TREEBARK Realtree. Another early pattern from late 80 s early 90 s and still my overall favorite is the original BOTTOMLAND from Mossy Oak. In the 70 s I actually hand painted a hat for darker shades brown and tan because there wasn't much available. Then a solid olive drab was one of the few darker hats available for waterfowl and deer in bottoms.

    I had Drake waterfowl.. When I got tired of getting wet I spent $40 more and got a hudson. Now I am happy, and dry. FWIW this stuff isn't expensive. You get what you pay for, if its really that far out of reach, then you should shop sales or save your money.

      Agree on the Hudson. Primaloft insulation with Gore-Tex. Money well spent.
      However, the Dakota is nothing more than a $300 non waterproof windbreaker. I give it a Hard Pass.

    Thanks for the video. I have just started to buy my Sitka appear. I am using the Fanatic whitetail system from Sitka. I agree that it's made for hunters. My question is, I would like to know more about the base layers. I had all the Frantic systems on and I am not as warm as I like. I like to know more about the other lines that Sitka has. That I can inter change with my frantic system the keep me warm on a treestand. Now understand I hunt in Michigan U.P. right off lake Superior. It gets pretty cold in December. Again thanks for your video.

    I just bought my first Sitka cloths not because of the performance but because of the camo pattern. I never could get behind mossy oak or real tree products because the patterns were too specific. Tried natural gear years ago but found the pattern to be too brown. And just didn’t blend well enough.Now that I have the pants and shirt and love the fit but hate the price. Also have notice they are noisy at least the pants I’m hoping after wearing them for a while it or a wash the noise goes away. Hears to hoping they are as good as what people say

    Which jacket is that one, looks good!
    I like there stuff and plan on buying the Hudson but seems like for $600 coat it would be modular. Like drakes lst parks. Seems like the Hudson would unzip into a Sitka vest and then you have the delta wading jacket for early spring teal hunts when you don't need insulation as much. Put them all back together and have the Hudson. No they want me to buy the $400 delta wading jacket for early, and a $600 hudson for late season. And a $300 hoody for mid. They are killing us.

    My opinion.Sitka not worth 600 bucks.End of story.i will buy scent lock and predator camp coats and pants and boots for the price of an over priced jacket.I hunt in the Rockies in Montana where the conditions are by far more intense than most places.This company is for the same people that buy the most expensive Matthews bow or benelli shotgun because they think it will make them better when I can hunt circles around them(this guy actually seems knowledgeable though) in saying it’s most hunters that are obsessed with gear don’t know sh*t

      Its also the most expensive jacket they have. All Im saying is for 500$ getting something this warm that will last a long time, top and bottom isn't bad. Ive owned a lot of the cabellas brand and other brands and I have never had one last past 2 years. The zipper is always the first thing to go.

    I'm only replying to the title. MUST READ ALL.H NO WAY it's all marketing hipe using some nobody want a b self proclaimed professional Hunter to promote the product. I know this to be fact. All this younger hunters 20-30 somethings thinking they have done or created something new when all they are doing is reruns. They are the exact reason I left the hinting industry. On the other hand mass marketing is smart business. After all it's about making money. In reality it is not some new age better than thou product. It is good but not better. If it was great quality like products made years ago then you WOULDN'T have to buy it as often.

    This is by far the weakest review or even analysis of a Hunting clothing brand I've seen.
    So its warm and comfortable..That's it?..I hunt in warm weather all year around..so I guess ill look for a different brand...lol.

    • @aitornavarro6597
      @aitornavarro6597 7 років тому

      BUCK RUSH I know they reference waterfowl hunting but also in the title it says is it hunting gear worth the price??? In my humble opinion it's no. Kuiu by far surpasses Sitka's quality and though they're still quite pricy it's usually more affordable than Sitka gear. Also I love there direct-to-consumer business model. No retailers, no mark-ups, no middleman. Which makes it easier for when they make changes to a product however small they may be it becomes immediately available and have to worry about when you're local outdoor sports shop gets the newest thing or upgrades, besides the fact they still want to sell everything regardless if it's out of season. Again here they talk about waterfowl and you're right Kuiu does not target that field. They are more specialized toward Big game in particular elk and sheep he hunting hence their logo.

      I waterfowl hunt with the kuiu guys, love them! Always wore Sitka and wore kuiu for archery this season for the first time. Great gear for sure! But when the temps hit below zero...Sitka has it goin on! You can’t go wrong with kuiu, Sitka or UA. But certain situations call for certain items. I’ll never wear Sitka again in early archery when it’s pushin 100*

    • @BrentVdz907
      @BrentVdz907 7 років тому +1

      Kuiu does make good gear but its not as good as sitka. Sitka is the only company that test there gear after they have died it. Sitka's gear also preforms better than there advertised specs, you can't say that for kuiu. They all make good gear you are kind of splitting hairs.
