Did no one else notice that the chapter about Tom Bombadil got torn out? I can only hope this was done after the spell was put into effect, and mah boy Bombadil is running around somewhere.
Heck, Tom probably got pissed at people tearing his book and came out to smack em around, then left the spell.

I saw this more as a take on those who write fantasy, sell books by taking Tolkien's work and altering it. That is why it reacts when you do anything to it. It is fine if left alone. I could just be reading into it, but hey that is the greatest aspect of literature no?

I could just imagine this book spawning the ring itself. It appears and one of the researches is like "nobody touch it! I've seen this movie, this ring will mess you up!"
i cannot watch any other scp reading channels now, they all sound horrible like how when reading a book as a class and you around the room everyone reading a paragraph or two and some people just sound horrible reading, but gemo's voice! mmh! is just too good

I would love to cross out the rings, swords, trinkets, etc in the book.
Anyone else notice the missing Tom Bombadil chapter being mentioned? There's another fellow down the comment section that took note of this. I'm reapting what I said to him, here, because I think it's pretty important regarding this SCP. The 1st thing that came to my mind was that this chapter is specifically not in either the live action WB film adaptation or...(I'm fairly certain) the Ralph Bakshi rotoscope-animation versions of the tale. Thus, I propose the SCiP is a critique....either figuratively or blatantly...of adaptations of Tolkien's most developed Middle Earth narratives. More than this being a situation of college kids defacing the book.... especially in a modern context. Most students would be reading an on-line version, listening to an audiobook version. Do college libraries even keep hard copies of the Tolkien trillogy? I'm sure it can be ordered but this improbability is further fuel for my reasoning. That this is about the adaptations leaving parts out so future generations...that just see the films are denied access to the complete cast of characters.

I think it started when somebody ripped out the Tom bombidil chapter as a joke (many ppl hate Tom bombidil for "derailing" the plot although I didn't mind) and that pissed this person off....although library books tend to get general wear and tear naturally. Somebody drops it in a puddle, a drink spills on the pages that sort of thing

May I make a small suggestion: SCP reports often refer to real-world plants and animals by their binomial name only. It's not always obvious what's being referred to and can sometimes be confusing. I would suggest including a picture of the plant/animal while it's being mentioned or putting its common name somewhere onscreen so viewers don't have to pause the video to do a Google search.
How about something related to the fifthists, maybe the book that started it all? Can't remember the number though
